I see you've requested a peer review for Kentucky. Please add the notice of the new peer review on the article's talk page. Interestingly, W.marsh and I have just been discussing in the last couple of days how to improve the article to GA or FA status. Seems you've beaten us to the punch on requesting a new peer review. We would love to have your help, especially as this would be a huge coup for WikiProject Kentucky. Let's coordinate our efforts and get this thing done! Thanks again! Thanks for posting some suggestions for the article Kentucky at WP:PR. Also, I noticed that you'd made a comment on the culture section. Well, now, the culture section somehow ended up towards the bottom of the page, below the references section, and it does not show up when you try to edit it. Could you try to see what's wrong with it, because I can't find the source of the problem. Thanks again for the suggestions, and good luck editing. Cool Bluetalk to me 00:25, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I didn't seem to have a problem opening that section for editing. Perhaps it was reverted? You might check the history tab on that page to find out. — RJH (talk) 14:37, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it doesn't appear to be there anymore, nor does it show it on any archived version of the page. But the whole thing was filled with software malfunctions when I read the page. It might have been my computer, or the software might have been malfunctioning. Anyways, thanks for reviewing the article, and reviewing the problem. Cool Bluetalk to me 00:21, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It could have been a problem with Wikipedia's back-end MySQL database. Sometimes Wikipedia just gets a little flakey. Usually it gets cleared up, but I suspect a DBA is probably resetting (or restarting) something in the background. — RJH (talk) 15:36, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware that i have i high count. However, i keep feeling worried over the nuerous word association edits. Probably minus 900 edits or something and there is the real count. Do you think i would be okay? Thanks for the nom btw. I will think about it. Simply south 14:39, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I think i'm good in other areas. Strangely i am a regular on WP:RM and i am involved in numerous transport projects, on of which i am trying to manage slowly but surely. I also like being interactive

Re: Kent Simpson AfD

[edit]

I wrote that message just before I went to work so didn't have time to look through the guidelines on AfD's thoroughly, so didn't realise I could withdraw my submission. I would have, but there has been another opinion of Delete and a "Weak" keep since I commented, so I'm going to let democracy run its course and see what happens :) I do contend the idea that the person is notable, so I'll let others decide what they want to do with it. RE: Revision Of Kent Simpson

[edit]

Thank you for your effort in keeping the article for Kent Simpson. Even though there is some international speculation whether or not the World Hockey League is professional (participants get paid funds for living and are technically 'paid athletes' which is deemed to be professional by the United States, disallowing all WHL players to apply to or be schooled in U.S. colleges) wow, that was a big sidetrack, regardless, what I was saying was even though there is speculation, so it's hard to know whether or not he is professional or just a top amateur, I definitely believe that he is an outstanding player and deserves a nod from Wikipedia. Although us Canadians don't live in Igloos or eat seal blubber (for the most part) we do make some stereotypes ring true and the most of which is our love for hockey. Thanks so much for, if you wanted to you could say, catering to this article and I'm glad Wikipedia allows things which I definitely think are notable to be articles. Thank you again, very much. TFD

[edit]

Hello. I need some way to file a report so a template can a get a deletion. However I'm not sure whether or not TfD would be the right place for it, because the template is a userbox that does not begin with the Template: in the URL. It can be found here. Thank you! You could always try with MFD for Wikipedia and user pages. CG 14:32, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Out Out at AfD

[edit]

Hi, I see you took the article Out Out to AfD. However, I'd assert they meet WP:BAND under criterion 5 - they've been released on Metropolis, who are a major indie label in the USA.

Also, the article may be badly written and very POV, certainly, but it was created just 3 minutes before you took it to AfD. I'm wondering, why didn't you tag it with cleanup or notability instead? If the poor noob who created that page decides to never come back to Wikipedia because his article was AfDed 3 minutes after creation, how does that help you build a community here? AllGloryToTheHypnotoad 03:42, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the original "Out Out" article, which was created 4 months ago, was a poem by Robert Frost. I went through the logs and looked at it. But the new guy just recently created the band article, and 3 minutes later you AfDed it. The new guy's since been blocked, because he chose an offensive username. In any case, you assert non-notability, but the article states the band had several releases with Metropolis, which satisfies WP:BAND. AllGloryToTheHypnotoad 20:45, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, the article right now is badly written, but the fellow who created it did admit he just copied their bio. Perhaps it's better to have a stub than what's there now, I'd agree with that. Anyway, one person in the AfD debate has already volunteered to clean it up if it's kept. Problem solved. BTW, my only issue with this was the quick-trigger AfD. If the article had been here a year, I'd have been in favour of deletion too, just because of its low quality. AllGloryToTheHypnotoad 20:52, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. It's at the point where we can't really assume good faith of him. Phony Saint 19:38, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've just responded to your request on WP:RFPP regarding edits to {{afd}} - nothing needs to be done to the template - you just need to substitute the afd template when adding it. Hope that helps :-) Ryan Postlethwaite 23:12, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging

[edit]

Hi
I wasn't in the process of tagging, but because I have recently added a template that I created to all the tourism articles called world tourism, I have all these pages on my watchlist. So I could actually see a trail of recently tagged pages that are in the nav box. So I thought i would join in for A while. When I saw what was happening I suspected that someone found the template and was using that to find all the different articles. Thanks AdamJWC 00:51, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You just tagged the place that I work at. AdamJWC 00:57, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You guessed it. Sorry I couldn't pitch in a bit more, i am at work at the moment. I have to train staff, serve customers, accounting and Wikipedia at the same time. Thanks. AdamJWC 04:15, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Prod

[edit]

Could you please explain why you think that Smash (song) is worthy of an article. My reasoning is sound, it is a non-notable song. The only information on the article page states that it is the last song on the album and it is the longest song. Then a bit of trivia regarding it. There is no further scope for the article. Before removing the prod, maybe you should consider expanding the article to make it worthwhile. If the article remains in its current state without improvement, then I will list it on AfD. Nouse4aname 15:03, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you wouldn't mind listing it that would be great. No inconvenience caused. I just don't see why so many songs have their own article when they don't deserve them! It's my new mission to find pointless ones like that and get rid of them! I wonder if there's a group...Cheers. Nouse4aname 15:22, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SHDCLLT

[edit]

I am the author of SHDCLLT. I am new to posting pages on wikipedia and still havent quite gotten the hang of it. My friend and I have came up with a party game/drinking game that I believe would be fun for people to play. I didn't make the wikipedia page as a promotion for myself, just for the game so that other people in the world could enjoy it as well. Before it is deleted, I would appreciate advice on how to edit this page to make it look more legit. I was trying to link it to "drinking games" and "party games" but as I stated before, I am still not used to posting articles. Please e-mail me at [removed] if you have any suggestions as to how I could edit the page to allow it to stay up. Thank you.

So in order for me to post a page on this site about a game developed for fun, I would first have to wait for it to be recognized by an outside source such as a newspaper, magazine, or other website that I am not affiliated with? If so, then I ask how my page is different from Bullshit (drinking game) which cites no outside source besides its category drinking games. I understand that this game is already an established and well-known game. Would I just have to edit the drinking games page to have Shdcllt added to the list?

Re:Hamilton

[edit]

I didn't. I removed the redirect to "Hamiliton". For some reason someone redirected "Talk:Professor Hamilton" to "Talk:Professor Hamiliton". I removed the redirect, but realized that there was info there. So I went back and grabbed that and pasted it on the right page. Apparently, someone just redirected information instead of "moving" the article to the corrected title.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 20:49, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I realized how confusing it was going to look in the history, but had I paid attention the first time it probably would have looked better. Then again, had the page been moved instead of redirected it would have all been fine..lol. Anyway, no harm no foul. Thanks for the concern though. Happy editing.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 20:52, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chocolate reference removed

[edit]

On 2007-05-26 you made this edit to the Chocolate page with the comment "removing unneeded and eyesore reference in header". While I totally agree that the reference in the header was an eyesore, I would like to have the source listed as reference -- Cocoa and Chocolate: Their History from Plantation to Consumer. Since this article uses footnote references, I didn't know where to include it as it was my source for the information in that section. (I think you are saying that since the information I added is not controversial, it doesn't really need to cite a reference.) Should it just go in the "Further reading" section? But your heart's in the right place, work hard in the mainspace, and wikispace, and you'll get there in no time. It's great that this user wants to help out in the mainspace. But, I really don't see why an admin from Papua New Guinea would help us function better. Cool Bluetalk to me 21:07, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for adminship and bureaucratship update
No current discussions. Recent RfAs, recent RfBs: (successful, unsuccessful)

Here's the link to the RfA analysis tool. It still can't attribute your (indented) signature to your comment, and therefore interprets it as an unsigned comment. However, you don't have to reformat your comment, I'm only asking you to consider doing so because I'm one of the users who use {{Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard/RfA Report}}. Remove the template at will, I just wanted to illustrate how parsing errors show up.AldeBaer 18:01, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind. —AldeBaer 18:05, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

It still shows up as a parsing error on the analysis page, here. —AldeBaer 18:08, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Same as your comment at Max Naylor's RfA, here. —AldeBaer 18:11, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Just a quick question...

[edit]

If an image in a Wikipedia article came from a specific source, say a still shot from a YouTube video originally posted by a specific user, what is wrong with crediting that image as courtesy of the person who originally made the image available (through a video)?

Thanks,

RHKlein 02:08, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, you are not mediator of a case... To be a mediator of a case, a true mediator has to be accepted by all sides. You appointed yourself a mediator and are trying to claim that your decision can somehow overrule policy and consensus. That's not how Wikipedia works. Also, from past experience, in order for a mediation case to be open all sides EXPLICITLY have to agree to it. You never asked me to agree, you just started it up. Again, that's not Wikipedia works. DreamGuy 19:31, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MedCab

[edit]

the issue seems to stem from things like the declaration that 'this is not up for discussion' when making edits and such. I suspect he's decided what the answers are and doesn't need mediation because he knows best. I don't think he realizes that the issue is NOT really his edits, but is WP:OWN issues and confrontational attitude; he's angering people and stating his edits declaratively (a Wikia wiki is *not* competition). Serious WP:TIGER at times. Anyway, I don't think it's personal against you, though now that he's lashed out at you you're probably out of the playing field for this one. --Thespian 22:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, that's not it at all. Just following clear rules that were built with a firm consensus of editors over the objections of a small number of editors who want to ignore them for no reason. DreamGuy 01:00, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'd rather that the discussion was continued elsewhere, on your or your talkpages. Cool Bluetalk to me 01:04, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely. I just wanted to let you know that I didn't think it was you; anyone would have gotten that snark; your comment on my talk page just seemed to indicate you thought he had a problem with *you* being mediator, and I don't think that's the case. Thanks for your efforts, hope future mediations go better for you ;-) --Thespian 18:32, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And I just thought I should make clear that this guy's opinions are wrong. You didn't follow mediation policy, so I called you on it. Someone who had followed policy wouldn't have had to have been chastised for it. Not that I would have accepted mediation anyway, but telling you you need to follow policy was and is something that you could have avoided if you had bothered to read the very rules you volunteered yourself to try to enforce. I followed this just because it was right there, and I have to say, the line "Prophylactic admonition may trigger novel mischief." sounds like it should be in a fortune cookie, and it amuses me a tonne. --Thespian 18:36, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why am I going to be banned?

[edit]

Hi, I spend hours working on the articles of Sim Street and Sim Brother and I wondering why I am going to get blocked for posting images from a site which I own... there is nothing inapporite about the images whats so ever.

Image Copyrighting

[edit]

I saw the conversation you just had with the member above - and I am also confused about copywriting. The images uploaded are from a website/forum where we post and have permission to upload the images (some of which are our own.) What would be a suitable copyright tag to use under these circumstances?

Thanks In Advance, Jamster_4

Untagged images

[edit]

Hello. I've noticed recently on several occasions that you have been marking images with {{untagged}}, but have not been specifying the date parameters. This causes the image to be categorized into Category:Images with no copyright tag as of unknown date 2007 (which does not exist), rather than one of the child categories of Category:Images with unknown copyright status. You might want to consider adding the parameters (example: {{untagged|month=June|day=12|year=2007}} ) or, even easier, use {{subst:nld}} as suggested at Template:Untagged. --After Midnight 0001 20:22, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for supporting my RfA, which closed successfully yesterday... W00t! I hope to be a great admin (and editor) and I'm sure you can tell that my use of a large, boldfaced, capital "T" and a big checkmark image in this generic "thank you" template that I swiped from some other user's Talk Page that I totally mean business! If you need anything in the future or if you see that I've done something incorrectly, please come to my Talk Page and let me know. RE: Italiavivi's falsified charge of sock puppetry

[edit]

Yesterday to my surprise I saw that there is a whole controversy about me. I was not informed about this at all. I would wish to have the sock puppet page removed. Below is what I posted at the sock puppet page about me:

The two accounts were in full and independent operation since before the Miriam Shear conflict even started. Thus the accusation based as it is on Yisraeldov being a replacement for Yisraelasper is groundless. Yisraelasper

The Mehadrin bus line was not my cause. You are making canards. The Miriam Shear story I contributed to but it also was not my only one on Wikipedia. Also you continually censored out what I added on the Miriam Shear story. I have no account other one. Worry about your own cases of being blocked and condemned by people rather than starting up again with me. I am not identical with any other user other than myselfself. It so happens my full name includes the name Dov as my second name but I have no other Wikipedia account other than Yisraelasper. If you continue to make trouble I will urge you be banned again as you hinder rather than help. Yisraelasper

Italiavivi I contributed to more than just one article. You claim above that I was a one agenda user and yet you fail to say that my last post on May 2 was on something else a topic I returned to yet. I posted on

May 2 "Talk:Extrasolar moon (The Petition no longer exists)."

I am not identical to Yisraeldov. I also don't live in Israel. I don't have an agenda for separate bus seating. I don't feel there is a need for separate bus seating. The Miriam Shear dispute has been over for months. You kept on though reposting warnings on my user page including on June 12 the date of your posting above after not posting on my site for at least over a month if not longer. No one asked you to. I am going to complain about this attack on me to Wikipedia to have this page removed or otherwise have you banned. What kind of a system is this where the evidence is not reviewed? Anyone with an agenda like Italiavivi can defame someone and that someone is not informed of the charges to be able to make a defense?User:Yisraelasper

Italiavivi I didn't know until now that there was an Egged article. You just make accusations and this you submit as evidence! Yisraelasper

Italiavivi you say that Yisraeldov started contributing in 2007? He was around in June 2006* and I've seen now that the first of his many contributions as far back as I was able to see started in July 2006**. All this was before even the Miriam Shear controversy. How could he be sock puppet for what wasn't yet?

Your view of RZ is verry limited. Yes there is a MO comunity in Israel, and yes most of them tend to be RZ, but those are not the only or even the majority of Religious Zionists here. --yisraeldov 19:23, 21 June 2006 (UTC)" Yisraelasper

You were supposed to notify me of the charge "Notify the suspected puppetmaster." Instead you just reposted on June 12th 2007 old Miriam Shear article warnings though no one asked you too. Yisraelasper

I didn't start the WP:SUSPSOCK case. I made one comment. I really don't know what's going on here. You should really contact Italiavivi on this. Cool Bluetalk to me 19:17, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Medcab (List of Mario series enemies)

[edit]

If you are wondering all I did was suggest that they goto RFC or Medcab about the merge disagreement. I doubt that really makes me an "involved party". FunPika 21:54, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in for the Mario enemy thing, but I'll warn you, I'm not 100% in favour of either party's viewpoint (Fryguy64 23:31, 27 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I don't mind, but don't expect me to be very active in it. --Powerlord 21:21, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I noticed you had asked the users thus far if you could be the mediator of this case. I had signed on to take it and didn't realize that you were also looking to take the case. Let me know if you still want to mediate it and I can step away from it, though I'd personally like to tackle it. Wizardman 21:56, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:CCDS Logo4.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CCDS Logo4.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:29, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I don't think you used PROD correctly. Also, if what you say about original research should stand, a majority of Wikipedia articles should be deleted simply b/c they're stubs. (Wikimachine 14:39, 2 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]
