Yeah, ok noob
[edit]You can say that, but it's true. Also, last time I checked, people were allowed to use the discussion board for discussions. How dare you say it was irrelevant and believe you have justification for taking it down. Take your superego elsewhere and understand Wikipedia, or I'll simply report you. --Cyberman 00:23, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Mikoto
[edit]I reverted your edits to Mikoto. Some of it was good, but some of it removed the out of universe information as recommended in Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction). - Peregrine Fisher 16:55, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not particularly aware of any out-of-universe information I removed, as there really isn't any. I don't see how reverting solved any of that. I'm attempting to condense their plot summaries as best as I can. Can you can point out any particular piece of information that should have stayed? Phony Saint 17:18, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Stuff like:
- Mikoto's first appearance is in episode 1
- If a DVD special (omake) is to believed, she is unused to wearing clothes as her grandfather would let her run naked through the woods when she was young.
- Although it's poorly wordeed and should be rewritten to something like: "In a DVD special (omake), she is unused to wearing clothes and her grandfather would let her run naked through the woods when she was young.
- Later in the series, the conflict between Mikoto's mission to find her brother and her devotion
- There are actually two Mikotos in the My-Otome anime series
- In the first episode of My-Otome Zwei, the Black Valley has been renamed "Cat God National Park"
- It may seem ridiculous to revert over such a small amount of context information, but it's so hard to get, it's kind of worth it. Basically, we want to tie the descriptions of events to where they came from. - Peregrine Fisher 17:54, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Stuff like:
- Most of the information I removed wasn't significant to the character, focused heavily on a single event, or was actually wrong.
- I wouldn't mind adding the first episode appearance back in.
- Running around the mountainside naked plays little role plotwise. Many of the other omakes involve pantyshots or other fanservice, which deserves a note somewhere (I think I removed it from the main article) but certainly not in each character's bio. That she doesn't know much about things like underwear is already stated as one of her running gags. Additionally, there should be a note somewhere about her grandfather, but not about that.
- Mikoto doesn't have a major conflict between finding her brother and staying with Mai. In one episode Mai doesn't want Mikoto to work with Nao in seducing older men to rob them, but that's about it. Her brother actually sends her back to defend Mai. Mikoto's main conflict is between making Mai happy by not fighting, or defending Mai (by killing her friends) and obeying her brother.
- There are three versions of Mikoto in My-Otome - the cat called Mikoto, the cat goddess Mikoto, and the cat goddess Mikoto's shadow form.
- The renaming of the Black Valley after Mikoto should stay, but the rest of the information is a plot summary of Zwei and should be left out.
- I'll just reedit my contribution with the above notes. Phony Saint 19:04, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Most of the information I removed wasn't significant to the character, focused heavily on a single event, or was actually wrong.
Sounds like you know what you're doing. Just try and tie information to the episodes it comes from as much as possible. - Peregrine Fisher 19:17, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Mashiro Blan de Windbloom
[edit]Musicalmelodygirl 05:13, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- No, because every other secondary character from My-HiME has had their page moved from their My-Otome name to their My-HiME name. The talk at Talk:Nao Yuuki and Talk:Mashiro Kazahana seems to indicate that people wanted it moved. The only reason it was at Mashiro Blan de Windbloom was because that page happened to be created before Mashiro Kazahana. Phony Saint 15:18, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

My-HiME notice about redirection stuff
[edit]I went and changed it again, this time it states more explicitly that the page is about the anime series, but also makes reference to the fact that "mai-hime" redirects to My-HiME. It's the only reason there would need to be such a notice on the page, in case that someone enters "mai-hime" looking for The Dancing Girl and ends up getting this page. Otherwise it's confusing and makes it sound as though the novel has something to do with the anime. Looking through the talk page it looks like I'm not the only one who ever thought this way, and I wonder why this hasn't been clarified sooner. Rubbrchikin 16:26, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I was going to suggest using a {{Two other uses}} template:
- Or you could use {{Redirect}}:
- But both Mai hime and Mai-hime redirect to My-HiME, and there isn't a good single template for that, so I'd just go with two other uses. Phony Saint 16:47, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Natsuki Kuga
[edit]I've editted Natsuki Kuga twice and I'm thankful you corrected my mistakes the first time but do you not want me to add the extra details. I added last time her Ducati bike and the Dylan reference as well stuff concerning her background and what happened to her father? The other HiME pages do not seem to have as much attention. Also I'm pretty some details have fan influences on them. Under common characteristics it lists mayonnaise as one of her traits but that was only in the manga but it was so popular fans use it for either version. Also why do you keep removing her from the fictional gunslingers category? Deus-Helios 04:42, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- ...Did you not look at the talk page? What fans or fansubbers do is not significant unless you provide valid external references. Likewise, what happened to her father isn't referenced anywhere in the anime. The anime has Natsuki eating mayonnaise in an omake, which is the only reason I left it there; I wouldn't be opposed to its removal. My-HiME is not a western film, which is why Natsuki is not a gunslinger. Phony Saint 04:50, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
I didn't find that talk page, thanks I'll remember that. I originally put in gunslinger because it was on another anime that wasn't a western so I thought it was still relevant, it was Hellsing if I remember correctly. There is a hint in the anime in ep. 18 which shows a man covered in shadow looking over Natsuki while she's in a coma (or at least it's presumed to be Natsuki on that hospital bed) before leaving with a woman in his arms then he leans his head on her which implies that he is her father. Would it be valid if I cited that as a reference or is it too ambigious, I read the talk page and you seem to think that a lot of things I added were too ambigious. Also what about other details such as her resources, contacts and equipment, and also her Load Silver Cartridge battle cry or is it too irrelevant or too ambigious? Also regarding Kruger in same regards for her battle cry.
P.S. Is there any reason the Natsuki page gets so much attention?
Deus-Helios 04:52, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- The only reason I pay attention to the Natsuki page is because my focus is on the main character pages. Ambiguous scenes and references should just be left as ambiguous as per WP:NOR. (There's information about her father in one of the guidebooks, but no one has added an appropriate reference for it yet.) I don't think the My-Otome reference to My-HiME is critically important, as My-Otome makes numerous references back to My-HiME; it'd be irrelevant to list every one of them. Phony Saint 18:05, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
I suppose her page isn't much bigger or smaller than the Mikoto and Mai page.Deus-Helios 05:14, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
My-Otome Terminology
[edit]Hello Phony Saint. I really love your MY-HIME entry about the terminology of the show. Could you write one for My-Otome aswell?
Tantrix_187 14:12, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- I wouldn't mind doing one, but there isn't a whole lot to write about My-Otome. Phony Saint 18:43, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
There's already something of a glossary on terms for the manga so it may be worth just transfering it to a universal link. On the other hand there are some difference between the two and not a lot of information on stuff like the Shinso system and little details about stuff like the Columns, Gem production and stuff. Also would it really be worth pointing out that although it is a magical girl henshin series all the otome are technically cybernetically modified supersoldiers clad in dimensionally modified powered battle armor? Deus-Helios 17.10m 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Things I could write about:
- Otome: female virgins who fight.
- GEMs: they're gems. I really don't think a GEMs page is necessary, since it's just a repeat of information from the character pages.
- Meister: Graduated Otome.
- Master: self-explanatory.
- Founder: Fumi and Rena. Cover in character pages, since Fumi isn't interesting enough to warrant her own page.
- Garderobe: Otome school. Could be covered in character pages.
- Five Columns: this one's covered in the character pages, I think. They don't exist in the manga.
- Schwartz: Searrs with a funnier name, if you've watched Spaceballz. Cover in character pages.
- Aswad: Power Rangers, could be covered in the character page. They don't exist in the manga.
- REM: similar to GEMs, really just belongs in Midori's page.
About the only two that are important would be Otome and Meister, and they would easily fit on the My-Otome page. Phony Saint 00:26, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Might be worth saying what a gem is though that can be covered in the explanations of an otome. Meister could be fitted in as well. Does anyone think it's worth putting some notes about the development of the magical girl genre into the magical girl page in relation to otome and hime? I was thinking it was worth mentioning that some m.g.s are becoming darker and more realistic and have started exploring some more serious themes like politics and wars as hime and otome did respectively. Anyone think I should bother?

Cho's ebay name
[edit]Phony Saint, I kinda made that point by saying that the school e-mail is not relevant. Phony, if you walked up to Joe Schmoe and said that your name was "John Q. Public" and then bought a massive computer cracking software package that disabled the FBI computer system, the fact that you used that alias to buy the tool used to commit the crime is notable.

when talk pages wander off-topic
[edit]The polite reminder you left was very good, and a good start. I've left another one, unindented, which hopefully will get the message across. If the chatting continued, I will probably leave a message on the chatting editors' individual talk pages, asking them to take their conversation elsewhere. Some people remove off-topic comments, but only if someone left a rant or something and no one's responded. Natalie 03:35, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Userpage vandalism
[edit]Just a heads up, Angelpulse has vandalized your userpage due to your reversions of his vandalism on Seung-Hui Cho. He also created a userpage of his own, threatening violence against users who revert his edits. Although I don't feel that your personal safety has been compromised, I thought you'd want to know. Also, I had left a Level-1 vandal warning on his page due to his previous edits to the article concerned, so I'll escalate that now. Take care. -Etafly 18:18, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit]To be honest, me neither. I'm just trying to help this guy see the whole world isn't out to get him. He is new, and this is all he's seen of wikipedia so far. Maybe I went a little overboard, but I figure you guys can take it :) Wrad 04:37, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Response from Amaraiel
[edit]Rejected,no, It's not a matter of feeling rejected. I was very sure when I told my teachers that I could prove how Wikipedia was a reliable source. My method (in case your wondering) was that a good article isn't a product of the editor, but a collection of sources put into words by the editor. The source of my indignation? I'm starting to wonder how much of the words are from the editor. I'll tell you the reason I thought it should be merged. 1) Because I can think of a way to cleanly merge the two. I apologize for not outlining that when I put the template up. 2) The events of that morning are unfortunately a part of Virginia Tech. Just as September 11th is now a part of countless American lives. It happened, and that's all there is to it. I doubt that moving on from this will be any easier then finding a way to move on from September 11th. They're both horrible times in our history. I can outline my plan for merging the two articles. I just need a little time to do so. I would be glad to help expand Wikipedia, but to do so, I need you to understand one thing, I tend to be outspoken sometimes. This has already been shown. But what I have to say is no less valid then anyone else.
I agree, and thats basically what I do. I take the sources from various Wikipedia articles and cite those. But Wikipedia has the potential to be so much more then just a starting point. However such sentimentalism is unwarranted right now. I'm over this whole thing and moving on. Thank you.

Help with vandalism
[edit]Greetings, thanks for reverting the improper tags done by the vandal 221.148.48.216/Firefox001/Pgdn001. The vandal however has struck again, would you be so kind as to help reverting the attacks? Hopefully a ban will come soon. The vandal's sockpuppetry etc. has been reported here: [2] Thanks. Enigma3542002 00:36, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have used my third revert for the day on the article, but I fully expect the vandal to return. Will you be able to help when that happens? Sorry to bother you with this. Enigma3542002 00:55, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: My user page
[edit]What specifically happened to it, if I may ask? Phony Saint 19:37, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- It was created as a vandalistic effort with disparaging remarks and swearwords directed towards yourself, so to remove those from the system it needed to be deleted rather than just blanked. There's no blame on you, it was a vandal editor who did the damage. Regards, (aeropagitica) 19:40, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- I did put something to improve upon the article on the discussion page of 조승희. But, it is true that I included both my opinion, and the request. Amphitere 22:12, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Good point. Amphitere 22:32, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
