- Hello, Duolingoiscat. This is the place to talk to me. What do you want to say? ColinFine (talk) 14:56, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- I watched your video on youtube but i was unable to understand whatever you were saying Duolingoiscat (talk) 17:24, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- I do not recall that I have ever posted a video on YouTube. What are you talking about? ColinFine (talk) 21:17, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- sir. just search 'colin fine' on YouTube and u will be able to see your video! UnKnownrNone (talk) 10:59, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- '0501 Colin Fine' by 'Kitchen Sink Drama' that's the video name in this video you are talking about 'stepmothers in wedding' I don't understand know what you said in the video 😔 Duolingoiscat (talk) 11:07, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- OH, right. That was a monologue from the play 'Art' by Yasmina Reza. I contributed it to a programme that the Bradford Playhouse organised during lockdown. I didn't know that they had hosted it on YouTube (though in retrospect I might have guessed).
- The character Yvan is already established as being rather neurotic, and he suddenly arrives and launches into that rambling, impassioned monologue. Neither the other characters nor the audience know much of what he is talking about. I chose it as an interesting monologue to perform (though when I performed the whole play a few years earlier, I had played a different part, Serge). ColinFine (talk) 11:36, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oh Amazing Sir...! Duolingoiscat (talk) 13:33, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- I didn't know that that would show up on a search of my name in YouTube, and I didn't know that there was no context for it. I have added a comment.
- Thank you. ColinFine (talk) 13:54, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- By the way I am very much inspired by you! Duolingoiscat (talk) 12:17, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

Canadian Federal Election candidates and nominations
You have not yet responded to my latest comment. Perhaps you are discussing it with someone; if so, I apologize for my impatience. If not, please advise the process in Wikipedia for a user (and minor editor) like myself to appeal a ruling. (By the way, I am quite proud of having found Vanier College for Kamala Harris's Grade 12, which I added to her page.) Wilfred Day (talk) 15:42, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- I haven't responded because I have no interest in exploring the issue. I gave you my answer, on general principles, to your initial question. If you find my answer unsatisfactory, that's fine, but I have no obligation to involve myself further.
- Your language of "appeal a ruling" suggests that you have not yet understood the degree to which Wikipedia is a collaborative process: if another editor reverts an edit or declines a draft, discuss it with them and try to reach consensus: see WP:BRD. ColinFine (talk) 16:44, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- An editor has declined a draft article on nominations for the coming federal election. It was not my article. I somehow found it, but cannot now find it. The discussion on that draft ended with a notice with a stop sign; I could not post to that page. I suppose the author of that draft has given up, at least for the moment, and perhaps until the new 6-month deadline. I would be happy to discuss the issue with the editor who declined it, if I am able to; it appeared he had closed the door. If you can find the page and help me discuss the issue with him or her, I would be grateful. Wilfred Day (talk) 02:49, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- The draft is at Draft:Candidates of the 45th Canadian federal election. The stop sign means that the draft has been Rejected, not just Declined, for the reason that @Bearcat gave in the rejection comment (after several declines by Bearcat and others). The only way this can be taken forward right now is to engage with Bearcat, and persuade them that there are some reliable substantial sources - sources that meet all the criteria in WP:42 - which have not so far been considered. Suggestions about Draft
Can You please Check my draft article once i.e Draft:Vaibhav Palhade and guide me with changes which i have to focus onwards to write a quality article Ballal2003 (talk) 21:18, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- No, I'm not going to (I don't read Hindi or Marathi, and I have no interest in the subject).
- You evaluate every one of the sources you are citing against WP:42. Remove every one that is not reliable. If you have several sources that meet the criteria, that's probably enough: make sure every single claim in the article is cited to a reliable source, and submit it for review.
- If there aren't at least three high-quality sources, either find some, or give up. ColinFine (talk) 22:07, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
