I am referring to the medieval principality of Albania. It was conquered by Turks in the 15th century and liberated in 1912. See List of Albanian monarchs.--Getoar (talk) 18:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Duff page
It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name.
No, that's not what happened. I created a page from scratch, then discovered somebody else had created a page based on only one of the sources I'd used, with an incorrect name (which is why I hadn't come across it). I'm sorry if I handled it wrong, but at least now you know what went on. Thanks for trying to improve my Wikipedia knowledge. Languagehat (talk) 15:06, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Zachary Jaydon
I have been working with a couple of admins, on getting this article up and running. I have had them help me with citing, etc. and have satisfied the previous admins requests, by citing independent, reliable sources that he is a notable songwriter, as well as adding other additional relevant information on the subject. I am objecting to the speedy deletion, but am not sure how to go about that. Can you help? Thank you Skyler Morgan (talk) 18:53, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Prod deletion (Holger)
Hi, the prod was deleted because user DGG thought my reasons for proding were wrong. So, the reasons have been made very clear now and so far I haven't heard from him. I really don't think that it needs to go to AfD unless you are the one contesting and have A) the citations from verifiable sources and B) reasons as to why you believe this engineer is notable. WP has strict rules to accept articles on living persons, so I am sure I don't need to re-direct you to our policies. Have a great day. Jrod2 (talk) 15:27, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

References required for wp:blps.
Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Kuljit Takhar. Thank you. [1] -- Jeandré, 2008-04-05t14:36z
- From the lead of wp:blp:
- "The burden of evidence for any edit on Wikipedia, but especially for edits about living persons, rests firmly on the shoulders of the person who adds or restores the material."
- "[blanking] all or part of a biography of a living person should be evaluated carefully. When the subject is of ambiguous notability, such edits should not be regarded as vandalism in the first instance, and recent changes patrollers should bear in mind that they may be dealing with the subject."
- "Editors must take particular care adding biographical material about a living person [...] Such material requires a high degree of sensitivity, and must adhere strictly to applicable laws in the United States and to our content policies: [...] Verifiability"
- "Be very firm about the use of high quality references. Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons — whether the material is negative, positive, or just questionable — should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion, from Wikipedia articles"
- "Wikipedia articles can affect real people's lives. This gives us an ethical and legal responsibility. Biographical material must be written with the greatest care and attention to verifiability"

Hi
Further to our conversation in Feb, I'm considering nominating you for adminship. While I can see plenty of good stuff in your contribs, including AIV work and speedy tagging, after wading through many screens of your contribs, I can't see much in the way of AfD participation. Have you done much of this? Are you still interested in adminship? I think you'd be a fine addition to our ranks. I still think your lack of article-writing will attract opposition, but not insurmountably if you otherwise stack up as trustworthy. --Dweller (talk) 16:16, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Can I suggest you throw yourself into AfD for a few weeks? Do a mix of being first contributor and contributing well into the debate. Return and reconsider your position as debates flow on. Demonstrate you have a flexible mind (without caving in for the sake of it), understand our policies, work with consensus and best of all, stay cool and civil under pressure. Do all that lot and I think you'd do well at RfA, unless you have skeletons that are a) recent and b) egregious. Do say yes! --Dweller (talk) 09:23, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've been looking through your past, and mentioned it to Dweller about pushing you forward for it as well. I've seen you around AIV, and your massive tagging sprees when they hit articles on my watchlist. Your comments on the LHC talk page, and the revert or partial reverts citing the relevant guidelines is a good demonstration of your suitability in my opinion. I agree with Dweller, we don't have to rush into an RfA, take some time in as he mentioned AfDs. But if you can demonstrate your familiarity with the pertinant areas is good enough. No-one expects an editor to have their fingers in every pie, you get promoted on what your current contributions, familiarity of policy and guidelines, whether you use them regularly or not, and being well mannered and most importantly calm. I will if you accept co-nom as well, I don't nominate lightly Lucasbfr, Kralizec! & Satori Son and certainly think you have the relevant competencies. There is no rush, you know the score have a look around and let me/us know. Khukri 11:52, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I should point out it was Khukri who reminded me of our Feb discussion. Kudos to Khukri! --Dweller (talk) 13:45, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Actually, not being very opinionated will hold you in good stead, as admins should just be closing according to consensus, rather than their own opinions. Just bear in mind the deletion policy etc and you'll be fine. The main point is just to show familiarity with the processes, more than devastating Rumpole-like argumentativeness. --Dweller (talk) 15:04, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
How's it now since you flagged it?--Smkolins (talk) 02:18, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Apologies - can you tell me if the article should still be deleted and how that can be processed?--Smkolins (talk) 03:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Schools A7
A school is an organization, and saying X is a middle school does not assert notability. If you'd like me to restore it and send it to Afd, I'll do that, but it is pure procedure over efficiency. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:05, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
There is of course WP:IAR, but middle schools are such that even most pissy schoolies realize that oneliners that say "I am here" basically aren't keepers. Horton hears no whos here. :-) Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:22, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Plausible typo
I'm afraid I don't get it with all the redirects that I see being created. If Funmi Lyanda is a plausible typo of Funmi Iyanda why is there no redirect from lan Player to Ian Player or from lams to Iams (or at least a disambiguation mention)?
Also, the Wikipedia search engine is clever enough to capitalise where appropriate so that the correct page is loaded even when the capitalisation is incorrect. For example, do a search for "ian player" and the page for "Ian Player" is still loaded without resorting to a redirect. Why then do we need redirect pages like IAMS and M&m?
Sorry to be difficult, but I just don't see the need? Regards LittleOldMe (talk) 15:35, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply to my queries. I'd already logged out when you replied and I only edit on week days, so I didn't see it till this morning. I knew I hadn't created the redirect but the edit history made it appear as if I had, so I tried my luck. Thanks again. LittleOldMe (talk) 08:33, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
James Horton
Thank you so much for fixing this mess, I'm in the middle of an FLC and I don't think I could have handled that, too. Keep up the good work and have a nice day. Rosenknospe (talk) 16:18, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of James Horton and pasted it into James Horton (actor). This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming an article is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. --Closedmouth (talk) 16:07, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I appreciate you fixing it. Sweetmoose6 (talk) 20:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Editing changes without logging on
Thanks for your comment about creating a user account, rather than making anonymous edits. My main reason for not doing so is to avoid being targeted by trolls.
Since I make anonymous edits, I make an extra effort not to do things that are difficult to reverse. I rarely go back to anonymous edits, since I'm interested in a constructive process, not in a dispute. If an editor edits in "bad faith", I generally chose not to confront them. I'm a professional editor, and my experience is that people dismissing reasonable comment are often more interested in argument than in improvement.

Deletion of SpellBinder (RPG game)
I don't see why this should be deleted, just because the game doesn't have notable citations. Should I get rid of them completely? The main website, btw, is back up.
Having the game on Wiki may (somehow XD) increase its popularity, thus, over time, could increase the amount of websites dedicated to it.
I can understand that you wish to keep Wiki clean. If the citations on my page aren't notable enough, will getting rid of them be a better option? DagothNereviar (talk) 08:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
(not sure how to reply xD so hope this is right tbh xD)
There are many Wiki articles that don't have references/"third-party publications". Just because something isn't widely known doesn't mean it's not information. I can understand why having some would help the case, but the game isn't that popular (yet). Having a wikipedia page would help, which like I said above, in time may help there be third-party publications.
The game does it exist, it's not a fake thing, there are forums (of course I imagine I can't link to forums for citations xD) with it on. DagothNereviar (talk) 12:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
I see. Would the "notability" tag be appropiate until I can get more notable citations? Also, what game websites (Not websites about a certain game, but websites for a wide range of games) are considered as notable? Or any websites, for that matter, which would be classed as notable?
I'm still unsure as to how someone else saying basically the same thing on their website makes the article more "suitable" for wikipedia. DagothNereviar (talk) 20:26, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Deprod on List of praise and worship songs
I think DGG's prod removal here was simply procedural because no reason was given. Reasons for the prod was added onto the talk page, so I restored the prod...I didn't see anyone actually contesting it. If you disagree, feel free to nuke it again, I was just letting you know. Oh, and it's nice to see someone else working the WP:PRODSUM list for re-added prods...do you get a lot of confused people on your talk page too? :) --UsaSatsui (talk) 08:22, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've made some minor improvements to this article, and on the talk page gave a reason why it should be kept and suggested some guidelines for inclusion. I'm therefore contesting the prod and have removed it. Hope this is OK. Sidefall (talk) 09:15, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for notifying me!!!
Yeah I kind of already know about the page. Honestly I was trying to make it so the page would redirect you to Banjo-Kazooie 3, but I had no idea of what I was doing. I will report to the admin that me the author wants it to be deleted too!!!Oh by the way how do you create a page that goes to a different page by redirection.--Anfish (talk) 11:25, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Guess what?. . .The page is deleted!!!! Now the only thing I need to do now is figure out how to make the redirect!!!--Anfish (talk) 12:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
No I didn't make it up. It was a name that was going to be used for the 3rd Banjo-Kazooie game. A lot of people think this is still the title but it is actually Banjo-Kazooie 3. So I was trying to make it so when somebody searched "Thranjo-Kazooie" it would go to the real title. Oh by the way I finally figured out how to get it to be a redirect to Banjo-Kazooie 3. Go search it now!!! It will take you directly to Banjo-Kazooie 3. And yes it is a page again-sorta.--Anfish (talk) 13:26, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Crossed out warnings at User talk:Hatexyou
Hi, I totally agree the user above should not have been warned about removing PROD warnings from pages he was creating. I would point out however that he only received two warnings for that from Xp54321 and CanadianLinuxUser. The sources do not mention the information on either Seniora Doll or Thomas Corker...so in reality some of the information should not be on there...I created the articles I did not have the correct sources listed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiaddict8962 (talk • contribs) 16:33, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

- No, 79.68.250.15 (talk) already contested the deletion. --Closedmouth (talk) 08:10, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- This was just a vandalism. Single edit, no edit summary, no reason in talk page. -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:37, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Keyword: "for any reason". The prod was removed for "no reason". Moreover, single edit by this account shows "vandalism" and I reverted as "vandalism". Friendly, Magioladitis (talk) 13:28, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi again. I sent it for AfD but because you are contesting the prod for a reason. (I take it as "I believe at least one editor disagrees with deletion") Why do you believe that the user just disagrees and it wasn't a vandalism? Since there is no edit summary we can't conclude that. I think it was a vandalism but I didn't give it a warning because I keep 5% of uncertainty. A reason would be "I don't' think so" or "I like this article" but no summary and no other edits in general? Let's see if this user will at least give a reason for keeping it in the Afd page. I'll leave him message in his talk page. Friendly,- Magioladitis (talk) 13:42, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
I guess now the user received a message asking him to participate in the Afd discussion we may find out soon what was the reason that he removed the template. Check Wikipedia talk:Proposed deletion there is a discussion about the same subject we are discussing! -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:57, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
