I saw your tags for more references. The article is basically a translation of the German page and was not tagged for lack of references there. Also, every paragraph in there HAS references. What makes you think that even more references than what is there are needed for such a small amount of information? And rather than just tagging it, is there anything that prevents you from finding and adding more references?--Achim Hering (talk) 22:43, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Achim Hering: Greetings and thank you for your question above. Wikipedia EN (English) has different requirements than other Wikipedia sister projects (Different language such as DE (German). I BLP before Authority control tag was placed and I have removed the tag since the BLP is met. Copied and pasted in translation from other Wikipedia language need to pay proper attribution to the original authors (please see WP:PATTfor such I have place the tag in the article page and article talk page. I suggest do write in your own words instead of copied and pasted in translation next time. Happy editing and have a nice day. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:47, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- This user didn't just plop the German article into Google Translate; it was actually translated. Thus, I removed the "proofreading needed" tag, as it's translation is worded quite well, and ahs no obvious grammar mistakes. Also, translating articles from other Wikipedias, although it's nice to have it original, is quite common and helpful to the project. Thanks, Vermont (talk) 02:12, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vermont:, Greetings to you. and thank you for the above message. I know it is translated from Google but since I dont know German I would not know how well it is translated for such the tag was placed and I guess you have some German language skills to gauge that. Thank you and have a good day. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 02:17, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Actually, I am fluent and accent-free in both German and English. I would not post automated translations due to the many errors those can contain. Perhaps you might consider my copy editing on Wikipedia German as sufficient evidence of that. I agree with German Wikipedians that the Kai Twilfer page is adequately referenced. More is always better, of course, but at this point, tagging to request more, seems excessive to me, not unlike insisting on more evidence if the Pope is truly Catholic. Please have a look and re-evaluate your tags. Best regards, --Achim Hering (talk) 18:05, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I think Cassiopeia misunderstood you, thinking that you copied and machine translated it. From reading the English article (my German knowledge is nonexistent), it is definitely not machine translated. I have removed all tags. Thank you for your contributions, Achim, and happy editing! - @Achim Hering: Hi Good day. Happy to know that we have another Wikipedia in English site who knows both English and German languages and contribute content to Wikipedia. Tags placed in the article is to invite/inform other editor to assist to better the article (copy editing, rewrite the lead and proofreading and etc) and to fill in what have been missing (such as categories, wiki links and etc), which are common and you would find in many published article as well - so please do not take it as an offence. Tags have been removed as source (authority control confirm of meeting BLP) and evident of of your sufficient of your proficient of both EN and DE languages. Thank you for your contribution and have a good day. Cheers! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 23:08, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
Re: MAA - editing
Got ya. Sorry about that. I'm still fairly new to being a serious Wikipedia editor so I may make some mistakes as I'm not 100% familair with the guidelines and how everything is supposed to work, but I appreciate you filling me in. Powderkegg (talk) 03:21, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Powderkegg:, Good day. There is nothing to apology. All of us have been there when we first started editing and I am one of them. Do drop me a line should you need to know anything on MMA editing / Wikipedia MMA guidelines or other topics. Have a nice day and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:53, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
UFC new weight class and sorry for disruptive editing
Look I’m sorry for disturbing edits I’m so mad that UFC won’t add 4 new weight classes for men and women I get carried away that Dana White won’t allow it on super Lightweight said that ufc is expected to add that weight class in 2018 is it true or False? Sameem123 (talk) 04:34, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Sameem123: Good afternoon. Understand your frustration, but Wikipedia is all about constructive editing and content is supported by source. Rumors has it that ESPN & NBC jointly bid for UFC streaming rights and part of the deal would be (1) contender series replaces TUF and ESPN & NBC each get one season per year, (2) new weight classes will be added to increased fight nights (Men's 165 & Women's 105) and among other new deals in the package. But this is just rumors - we would know when it is announced in the press. Have a nice day. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:19, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
Dana White
I’m sick and tired of Dana White lying it just pisses me off and frustrate shit out of me lying all the time he said that ufc won’t add 4 new weight classes the old ones like men’s strawweight he said that if he add new weight classes he said that bigger fighters will cut more weight which is not true because weight cutting has become issue in mma I feel if they add weight classes at right time like this year or 2019 well I’m just hoping that it happens it would make me happy. Sameem123 (talk) 09:38, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
I think because of an edit conflict, you mistakenly revent my undo edit [1]. I have revented your edit. If there's any wrong of my edit, please leave a feedback on my talk page. Thanks. --Stang 13:34, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Stang: Hey Thanks for the message above. I think we both reverted the vandalized edit about the same time but yours went through first and my edit reverted yours instead. Since you have reverted mine, the page is back to stable condition. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:39, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your message about my edit[2], which I only read now. The phrase I added is to show an ambiguity in the Hebrew. In fact, I think 'Baal Shem Tov' is currently mistranslated as 'the Master of the Good Name', since 'Baal Shem' is an existing title; besides, since all Baalei Shem work with the same Name, 'Master of the Good Name' is meaningless, making 'the good Baal Shem' a more likely interpretation.

- @87.212.8.185: Hi, Good day and thank you for the message above. I reverted your edit as according to the source provided Jewish Encyclopedia.com- see here [3], Baal Shem means "Master of the Name". Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 06:56, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

Recent changes
- The Wikimedia Commons mobile app has a new version. It is now easier to find nearby places that need pictures. It helps you with direct uploads and title and category suggestions. The app only works on Android phones. [4]
Problems
- The abuse filters had a problem with blocks where you had changed how long they last. It used the default length everywhere. This was in late April. Abuse filter users should make sure the right block length is used and change them if needed. This is only for filters where how long blocks last had been changed. [5]
Changes later this week
- The advanced search function beta feature will be on all Wikimedia wikis. It makes it easier to use some of the special search functions that most editors don't know exist. [6]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 8 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 9 May. It will be on all wikis from 10 May (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 8 May at 18:30 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 9 May at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- All wikis with fewer than 100 high-priority linter errors in the main namespace will switch to use the Remex parsing library. This is to replace Tidy. It will happen on 16 May. Other wikis will switch soon when they have fixed the errors that must be fixed. Tidy will be removed on all wikis before July 2018. [7][8]

'Vandalism'
I understand that you might be a bot. I simply added the Finnish word for funnel cakes to where it should be, how is that considered vandalism? I just want to help people know the words we here in Finland use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Potteristi101 (talk • contribs) 12:07, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Potteristi101:, Greetings to you and thank you for the question above. First of all, I am not a Bot and secondly, I revert your edit based on unsourced content added and not as vandalism - see here [9]. You have added the source and I have checked the translation which the source did support the content added. I have fixed the correct method of citing after you provided the source - see here [10]. For how to cite the inline citation, pls visit Template:Cite web. Let me know if anything else I could help. Have a good day and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:15, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Kevin De Bruyne
Hi,
The deleted info is not correct (cf. link I added): https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=nl&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.demorgen.be%2Ftvmedia%2F-sorry-voor-alles-bedenker-kamiel-de-bruyne-doet-zich-voor-als-broer-van-kevin-de-bruyne-b901e24c%2F&edit-text=
From the article: 'Sorry for everything'-creator Kamiel De Bruyne pretends to be the brother of Kevin De Bruyne...
Kamiel De Bruyne and Wannes Deleu, creators of the second season of the hidden camera program Sorry for everything , join forces again to take unknown people. For that, De Bruyne goes through life as a fictional brother of Kevin...
"Whenever we had to show our identity cards at check-in somewhere, Kamiel was asked if he was related to Manchester City player Kevin De Bruyne, a name written in exactly the same way."
For the sake of clarity: that is not Kamiel.

El Recreo Shopping Mall
Hello Cassiopeia,
I created both pages (Centro Comercial El Recreo and El Recreo Shopping Mall). I have added more citations and one quote. I would like you to review the page once again. I was the author of the article in Spanish Language. You have wrotten that "give proper attribution is needed". What else should I do?
PD: I also created the new article "Boulevard of Sabana Grande"
Thank you in advance QuinteroP (talk) 20:38, 10 May 2018 (UTC)QuinteroP
- @QuinteroP: Good day. Thank you for the question above. Since you are the original creator/author for both El Recreo Shopping Mall (Wiki EN) and Centro_Comercial_El_Recreo (Wiki ES). No proper attribution is needed. You might want to state that in the "article talk page" (just add a new section) and mention that with link provided next time.
- Both of the article in Wiki EN El Recreo Shopping Mall and Boulevard of Sabana Grande have been reviewed and tagged with WikiProject template in the artilces' talk pages.
- My ES is limited and if you are confident with your English skills and deem the translation is good enough from ES to EN, then you are welcome to remove the tag and just state you command a good language skills fro both ES and EN in the edit summary before saving. Thank you very much for your contribution for both Wiki EN and ES as it is very much appreciated by the Wikipedia community. Do let me know if anything else I could help. Have a wonderful day and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:04, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Your Moving to Drafts
Hello. I've noticed that you move almost every unsourced article you come across in NPP to draftspace. If you're unaware, the majority of articles you move to draftspace are never touched again. Yesterday, you moved 8 pages to draftspace in a span of 7 minutes, and some of those pages could have remained in mainspace (the sports ones). You also added refimprove tags to 13 footballers within a 7 minute period, and none of those articles are needing of a refimprove tag. They're single-sentence sports bios; a single reference is fine. Thanks, Vermont (talk) 10:16, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vermont:, Unsourced article can be moved to draft space and Wikipedia notability is based on third party and significant coverage reliable source - Articles on sport was sourced with primary source. One source is lesser of notability. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:33, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
- Notability? Those sports players are inherently notable due to the league they're in, and the sources werw from statistics/sports websites. That sort of article does not need secondary sources when the only content is the player's team and statistics. Vermont (talk) 10:57, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vermont:, I know they are notable, if not PROD would be tagged by editors, but the corner stone of Wikipedia guidelines require independent, reliable source with significant coverage for verification as it defines by Wikipedia notability guidelines - WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV. Sport statistics are primary sources, some are very reliable and other are not so, as the info is/might provided/provide by the local/event companies (depends on which sport and which sport statistic source and I am not saying these particular sport statistics you mentioned is not reliable). For a fully notable article, significant coverage is required, for such a bioplate tag for additional source is not uncommon to invite other editors/the creators to add more source and add content to strengthen the notability and develop the article further. As you may know, every WikiProject sports have their own sport specific guidelines, some regulate tighter (that they consider sport statistics source as random coverage) and other would consider permissible. Just as each sister Wikipedia project has it own requirements when it comes to notability guidelines. In addition, GNG and SPG do not work in slimness way and it depends which guidelines one based their ground on to address the case, as you would notice if you are active in AfD. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:20, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
- You added maintenance tags to those 13 athlete articles. Those are not to “invite” people to add sources. We don’t add maintenance tags to invite people to edit. Everyone is encouraged to add sources to every article. Overtagging is an issue; those articles were unneeding of the tags you added. I also don’t really understand what you mean by “fully notable”. Something is either notable, or it isn’t; could you explain? Thanks, Vermont (talk) 15:25, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
- I’ve read this over and realize I phrased it a bit wrong; maintenance tags are sort of to invite people to edit. But, we shouldn’t be putting them on every article we think they might apply on. I ask that you be a bit more conservative in your addition of tags. Thanks, and happy editing :) Vermont (talk) 15:28, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vermont: I have mentioned above but maybe I was not clear enough, we as the NPP reviewers would understand the different between independent reliably source vs primary source and significant coverage (source) vs single source coverage. If you look at the sportmen/women basic notability criteria, it defines as "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of multiple published non-trivial secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject", which means trivial coverage, Primary sources and routine game coverage ( Listings of statistics) need to be support further with multiple independent reliable source to establish full notability.
- I have only insert ONE (more source needed / only primary source) tag on article which has only one primary source and my understanding is this is not overtagging or incorrect tagging. Moreover, tags are visible in page but also in hidden categories sections, which would invite those interest editors to further improve the page if they view the page or search the hidden category section pages. However, I might miss some or interpret some guidelines which if you do know, please advise and provide the link for my perusal and I thank you in advance. I understand what happened to you on overtagging in the past and appreciate your note and good faith of advising of the above. Have a good day. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 00:02, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello, CASSIOPEIA. how can you say my up date was not constructive for Gerrards Cross Memorial Building it was it has a new use as a gym and not used bye the royal british legion any moro i was not experimenting with the page i was puting in the right info so put it back or i will — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.57.28 (talk) 21:46, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
- @84.13.57.28:, G'day mate, Thank you for the above message and since you have only edited three times in Wikipedia, I am not sure you are familiar with the linking system in Wikipedia. Please click on the "blue and purplish color texts/phrase" below for they will bring you to other pages in Wikipedia where you could find more details info of the "said message/text".
- On February 19, 2018, you removed "sourced" content and added info without the support of source/reference, for such I reverted your edit as it is considered not constructive according to Wikipedia guidelines. Please note that content added/edited in Wikipedia needs "inline citation" from independent "third party" reliable source (in any language) for verification. The articles's inline citation is the WP:BURDEN which it is on the person adding the information. Please note official website, facebook, twitter, instagram are primary source and not independent source and they NOT reliable source and can not be used for citing. Independent reliable source are sources obtain from newspaper or sources obtain from publisher. Do note that Wikipedia can NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR.
- You added back the text (serves as a new gym in the town called inspire fitness centre run bye some local owners from the town www.inspire2train.co.uk) yesterday May 18, 2018 and it was reverted again by user Classicwiki. Since this time your provided a web link, and upon checking, it is a home page of Inspire2train fitness gym and I noticed the address in the web page indeed shows the same as per the existing source Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, SL9 7AD. Do you able to find other source, besides the Inspire2train official home page, which indicates the gym's address/location, and if so, you could forward me the URL and I will help you to insert the inline citation as you cant just copy and page the URL into the article. I believe I have answered your questions and do let me know if I could help further. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 23:26, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I nominated the file for deletion on Commons. That's why I deleted this on Wikipedia. 75.67.58.188 (talk) 00:22, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
- @75.67.58.188: Hi, Thank you for your message and upon checking you had nominated the file for deletion at the Wikimedia Common.Your second edit was also reverted by Shellwood and I have restored the Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2018 May 18 page and removing the warning tag I placed on your talk page. Please provide edit summary next time for any edit perform, especially edit on remover of content, and provide link so we the counter vandalism team would able to verify the edit motive/reason. Thank you for your contribution. Let me know if anything I could help. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 00:44, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
It appears that the creator, User:RgIlls, moved Draft:Orleanais language into mainspace without first getting support through the AfC process. What is supposed to happen at this point? If you think any admin intervention is needed, please let me know. I only saw this because it was in a histmerge category. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 04:04, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
- @EdJohnston: Greetings to you and thank you for the bringing the above to my attention. The creator appeared to create the page directly to main page as their are an auto confirm editor. I have checked and I have placed additional histmerg message on mistake which I did not realize - the mistake is all mine. I had moved to page to draft space as it was unsourced. The creator moved back to main without improving the page as such I moved it back to draft and have notify the creator with info on how to improve the draft page. I encountered at times when I move a newly created unsourced page in main space to draft space, the creator would move back to main space without improving the article as they are auto-confirmed editor. We could either (1)send message to the creator, providing explanation and link to encourage them to provide source, (2) help the creator to find and insert source to support the content or (3) if a WP:BEFORE find no [[WP:RS|reliable source] to support the article would meet notability then a AfD could be raised and (4). Besides these three options, are there other options the better situation (as I am not sure "unsourced warning template placed would be applied here)? Thanks in advance for the advice. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 06:48, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
Editing to Paolo Restani's page
Dear Cassiopeia,
with reference to my editing that you delete, I'd like to specify that it was me, Paolo Restani, who made it. What shall I do so that my editing is accepted? What kind of source should I insert to make it be accepted? Since I am the owner of the copywright and the image rights, what shall I do to change my personal picture on Wikipedia?
I'd also like to clarify that my "anonimous" try to replace my old website with the new address www.paolorestani.com is due to the fact that I no longer have contacts with "Forum Artists" (I also asked many times, in vain, to be removed from this site).
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much for your availabilty.
Faithfully,
Paolo Restani — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paolo Restani (talk • contribs) 10:46, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
- Paolo Restani Good day. Since there are multiple questions, I will list the answers down as below:
- Paolo Restani - I reverted User:79.3.90.216's edits as they were unsourced edits. I assume from your message above you claimed to be the IP User:79.3.90.216 who made the edits.
- What constitutes an acceptable edit in Wikipedia - Content added/edited in Wikipedia needs "inline citation" from independent "third party" reliable source (in any language) for verification. The articles's inline citation is the WP:BURDEN which it is on the person adding the information. Please note official website, records of sport events or individual player records are consider primary source and not independent source, and social network source such as facebook, twitter, instagram, imbd and etc are considered NOT reliable source. Independent reliable sources are those obtain from major newspaper, such as The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, CNN news and etc. or source obtain from major publisher of the work (for example, Random House or Cambridge University Press). (Note: Wikipedia can NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR).
- Paolo Restani's Office Website - it is ok to change the web site to [14] and it could be placed under External link section.
- Image copyright- You had uploaded 2 files - [15] and [16] in October 2014 in Wikipedia instead of in Wikmedia Commons where images usually uploaded and you have uploaded another image which was deleted for the reason that you are in the picture which means you can NOT be the person who took the photo. Thus, you do not have the copy right of the image and the copyright of those images reside with the photographer. You could ask if the copyrighted photographer if he/she agrees to release image under a free license such as CC-BY-SA to you. This applies to the 2 images I mentioned earlier which they are both current in the Paolo Restani page without copy right in place. Please read image use policy on images copyright and licensing.
- Conflict of interest (COI)- I believe you have claimed you are Paolo Restani the renown Italian classical pianist and upon checking I noticed that you are also the creator] of Paolo Restani page. Wikipedia discourage COI editing and you need to disclose your COI when involved with affected article (which in the case is Paolo Restani) and you could request other Wikipedia editors to edit for you on the page instead. Please see here how to disclose COI on Wikipedia.
- As there are a number of issues here, for such, I would like to invite @Cullen328: who is an experienced WP:Teahouse host to assist on adding any notes which I have missed or any corrections needed, and I thank Cullen3328 in advance. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:05, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, Paolo Restani. You have received excellent advice from CASSIOPEIA. Whenever a person uploads a photo of themself which is obviously not a selfie, then there are doubts about the copyright status, which is normally held by the photographer. There may also be doubts about the identity of the editor, since impersonation is common on the internet. These issues can be resolved by providing the proper evidence to the Volunteer Response Team. I also suggest that you read and follow the guideline Autobiography, which has lots of good information for you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 17:41, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018
ACTRIAL:
- WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.
Deletion tags
- Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.
Backlog drive:
- A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
Editathons
- There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
Paid editing - new policy
- Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
Not English
- A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.
News
- Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
- The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

I've asked this at User:DESiegel's talk page but I thought i'd ask it here. what should i do with this Userpage?Thegooduser Let's Chat 02:03, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Thegooduser and DESiegel:, Good day. The statement made above is not considered personal attack. I not not sure if you keep the said user talk page in your watchlist. Some Wikipedians do watch or as a Talk page stalker, usually for constructive comments, such as my user talk page is watched by a number of talk page stalkers. However, from the history of the said user page and the user contribution log, it seems their have been blocked by some admins before and might be a WP:Sock puppetry editors and DESiegel might able to assist to verify/investigate. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 02:30, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- So far as I can see, Thegooduser, Bounty_HunterxD is not doing anything harmful. S/he could be a sockpuppet, or someone who previously edited under an IP, or just someone who read various Wikipedia pages. I don't see enough to even remotely justify an SPI, nor would there be any benefit to the project from a sock block worth the effort of going through the investigation. I would just drop this, and unwatch the page, if I were you. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 03:30, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Draft:Pedro Emilio Coll moved to draftspace
After all let me greeting you and hope you are well. My brother recently i have made a translation of Pedro Emilio Coll from Spanish Wikipedia to English Wikipedia, Why this article is published in Spanish Wikipedia and can not be publish in English Wikipedia? Sincerly yours, Naturista2018 (talk) 04:11, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Naturista2018 Greetings to you and thank you for the question above.
- Each Wiki sister project has different policies and guidlines - If you look at my message to you at your talk page - Pedro Emilio Coll moved to draftspace#Draft:Pedro Emilio Coll, it has indicated that the page needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Wiki ES is a sister project of Wiki EN. Each Wiki sister project has different guidelines and policies and in Wiki EN, an article needs to demostrate it meets notability requirements and it should be supported by independent, reliable source. See here for notability for journalist and politician respectively for Wiki EN WP:JOURNALIST and WP:POLITICIAN.
- Proper attribution paid is requiredI have checked out Draft:Pedro Emilio Coll in Wiki En against Pedro Emilio Coll in Wiki ES. The Wiki ES copy was created on 22:08 4 dec 2011 by user Edmenb - see here [17] and your EN copy was created on 17:59, May 26, 2018 - see here [18]. Upon checking the translation from ES to EN, you have copied and pasted the translation text unto your article without WP:PATT which is a violation. What you could do is to indicated in the summary edit and the article talk page to paid the attribution for the copy text. To say that, the ES copy need to copy edited as the translation is not deem well written. I do suggest you to rewrite the EN copy on "your own words" without taking the content in ES copy and just simply paste the translation test as you did not write the ES content yourselves.
- inline citation and source - Content added/edited in Wikipedia needs "inline citation" from independent "third party" reliable source (in any language) for verification to gauge the nobility criteria is met. The articles's inline citation is the WP:BURDEN which it is on the person adding the information. Please note official website, records of sport events or individual player records are consider primary source and not independent source, and social network source such as facebook, twitter, instagram, imbd and etc are considered NOT reliable source and can not be used for citing.
- Hello Naturista2018 Greetings to you and thank you for the question above.
- citing from internet source - see WP:CITEWEB and its template -see Template: cite web
- Instructions: Citing source from web - Do not copy and past the URL address and paste into the body text, but click "cite" on menu page and fill in the fields as per the Template: cite web and save when it is done).
- Examples below:
- To add an in-line text citation for an internet reference: <ref>{{cite web|url =https://www.mmafighting.com/2018/4/5/17203890/watch-conor-mcgregor-throw-a-dolly-through-ufc-223-fighter-bus-window |title = Watch Conor McGregor throw a dolly through UFC 223 fighter bus window|accessdate = 15 April 2018|author=|last =Al-Shatti |first = Shaun |publication = mmafighting|date = 15 April 2018|archivedate =15 April 2018 }}</ref>
- To add an in-line text citation for a paper reference: <ref name="Green">Green, William: ''Observers Aircraft'', page 228. Frederick Warne Publishing, 1991. ISBN 0 7232 3697 6</ref> (note: remove nowiki tag when input the citation. Fill the info and change the date as needed. See on source edit view mode.)

18:21:42, 24 May 2018 review of submission by Nehme1499
Hi, I am new to editing on Wikipedia. I wanted to know why my draft has been rejected, since I feel I have put all the appropriate sources to back up what I have written. Is it because the person I am creating the page about isn't important enough? Or is it because the sources aren't good enough? If it's the former, what qualifies as "important"? If it's the latter, I have tried to put the best possible sources available to date.
Thanks for reading, hopefully you will be able to answer some, if not all, of my questions.
Nehme1499 (talk) 18:21, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
- Nehme1499 Good day. Please see my explanation below; however, when you have time please look again on comments I made on the Draft:Ali_El_Hajj page. click on the highlighted "blue texts" and they will lead you to pages that explain in the said comments in details.
- 1. What constitutes a soccer player (Association football) notability in Wikipedia - (sorry to refer to soccer instead of football here, just to be specific, as I am familiar and watch, American football / (Gridiron football), Rugby league football, Rugby union football (the gentlemen game), Australian rules football - Australia invention with oval-shaped field and of course Soccer / Football (the beautiful game): If you refer to the WP:NSOCCER guidelines, a player would consider notable if he/she has played in Tier 1 international match as defined by FIFA or who has played at least a match between two fully professional leagues as defined by WikiProject Football associate football. Ali_El_Hajj who is a player for the Lebanese club Nejmeh, competing in the Lebanese Premier League. If you look at the list here, Lebanese Premier League is not in the list, for such Hajj is not considered notable soccer player in Wikipedia.
- 2. Independent reliable source - Wikipedia requires Independent, reliable source (such as major newspaper and publication house) for verification, and the sources you provided are WP:primary source as such Sports Reference. A person is considered notable if their have significant coverage by independent, reliable sources and defined by sport specific notability (SSN) guidelines by Wikipedia. Please note source could be in any languages as long as they are considered reliable and independent. If a sport person falls short in meeting (SSN) guidelines, but do receive significant coverage for other reasons then it would considered notable, if not then the article would be challenged as a stand alone page in main space.
- There are many soccer players, especially in Middle East region, who are notable but yet to have a page in Wikipedia, you might want explore and write a page about them. Do drop by if anything else I could help and thank you for your contribution to Wikipedia. Cheers! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:26, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I understand your explanation. However I don't see why the Lebanese Premier League isn't a fully professional league, as it's teams partecipate in AFC competitions. Also, what constitutes as an independent primary source? (As opposed to my primary sources?). I don't understand clearly the difference between primary and secondary sources. Thanks for helping. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nehme1499 (talk • contribs) 07:42, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Nehme1499, See below :
- (A) Wikipedia has many portal/WikiProjects (such as computing, history, associate football, etc) and each WikiProject members define the subject's guidelines and notability requirements. For sport, the player notability, it is usually based if the player has competed for certain club under certain major league, competed in world cup, commonwealth games, olypmics game, certain international games or in top rankings in that particular sport. For associate football, the project has set up long time ago and I dont know what criteria the notability was based on.
- (B) See below a simple summary of source types.
- * note: Wikipedia can not be the source. Pls see WP:NOTRS - "Wikipedia employs no systematic mechanism for fact checking or accuracy. Thus, Wikipedia articles (and Wikipedia mirrors) in themselves are not reliable sources for any purpose (except as sources on themselves per WP:SELFSOURCE)"

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- You can now use global preferences on most wikis. This means you can set preferences for all wikis at the same time. Before this you had to change them on each individual wiki. Global preferences will come to the Wikipedias later this week. [19][20]
- It is now easier for blocked mobile users to see why they were blocked. [21]
- Wikidata now supports lexicographical data. This helps describe words.
- There is now a checkbox on Special:ListUsers to let you see only users in temporary user groups. [22]
- Some rare invisible Unicode characters have recently been banned from page titles. This includes soft hyphens (U+00AD) and left-to-right (U+2066) and right-to-left (U+2067) isolate markers. Existing pages with these characters will soon be moved by a script. [23]
- There's a new Wikimedia Foundation team to support the Wikimedia technical communities. It's called the Technical Engagement team. Most of the team members did similar work in other teams before this. [24]
Problems
- Some translatable pages are showing old translations instead of latest ones. The cause of this issue has been fixed. We will update all pages automatically to show the latest translations. [25]
Changes later this week
- There will be a new special page named PasswordPolicies. This page gives information about the password rules for each user group on that wiki. [26]
- A new way to see moved paragraphs in diffs is coming to most wikis. This is to make it easier to find the moved paragraphs and the changes in them. [27]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 29 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 30 May. It will be on all wikis from 31 May (calendar).
- Wikis can enable Citoid to provide automatic reference look-up in the visual editor and the 2017 wikitext editor. This is complex. The tool will now disable itself if the configuration isn't correct. It has warned about this in the JavaScript console since February. Check that your wiki is configured correctly. You can ask for help if you need it. [28]
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 29 May at 18:30 (UTC). See how to join.
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 30 May at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- Content Translation drafts which have not been updated in over a year will be removed. This allows other users to translate those articles. [29]
- A survey is collecting information on what users think about how Wikimedia wiki pages are loaded. This information could be used in future development. [30]
- Some wikis will switch to use the Remex parsing library. This is to replace Tidy. It will happen on 30 May and 13 June. Wikis with fewer than 100 linter issues in the main namespace in all high-priority linter categories will switch. This includes Wikidata. Tidy will probably be removed on all wikis in the first week of July. [31][32]

Recent changes
- The MonoBook skin has been optimised for mobile devices. It now looks different. [33]
- Planet Wikimedia collects blogs about Wikimedia. It will now use the Rawdog feed aggregator to do this instead of Planet. [34][35]
- Redirect links in Special:WhatLinksHere now link to the original page and not the target page. This was done earlier and changed the used messages on some pages. This was a problem for wikis that customized the message. A new change fixed this by using the old messages with one more parameter for customization. Wikis that already changed their customized messages will have to move the customization back again. [36]
Problems
- You will not be able to edit some wikis between 06:00 and 06:30 UTC on 13 June. You can see if your wiki is one of them.
- MassMessage did not work 24–28 May. This is also why last week's Tech News was late. [37]
Changes later this week
