Five Directions of the World
Hi. This article isn't completely MMA related but it is related to martial arts so I thought I would submit it to you for review. Imcdc (talk) 18:53, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- Imcdc Reviewed. I have removed content sourced by RT as RT is not a reliable source. The article is in the borderline of notability as a few of the source reliability/independent is questionable. If you would find a few more source to support the content, that will be good. Thank you for your contribution and stay safe. Cassiopeia(talk) 11:53, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

Continued vandalism
Hi! Of this user. He started with kickboxer Benjamin Adegbuyi, currently removing the description of other fighters but from the UFC. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:Contributions/Belevalo I tried to talk with him nicely, but he has moved now his attention from ice hockey to other sports. .karellian-24 (talk) 20:49, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- .karellian-24 Good day. Thank you for the message above. I saw you message on Belevalo talk page and for I will respond on their talk page to cauterize the discussion. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 02:20, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
Hey Hey
So this week I am gonna publish the new pages myself, just to see how to do it and such, especially since I am free and not busy with anything else during this time period. Hope that is okay. All the best and hope everything is going well with you. HeinzMaster (talk) 20:47, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
- HeinzMaster Good day. How new pages being reveiwed is as follow:
- (A) Submit via draft (AfC) - Two step process: (1) AfC reviewers will check if the page passes the notability guidelines. If it does, then it will check pass and move it to new pages and if the draft does not pass the notability guidelines, then the draft will be declined and stay in draft page for the creator/editors to rework on the issues indicated by the reviewer (2) New pages reviewer/patroller will recheck the notability again and it the reviewer think it meets the notability, then it will check pass then search engines (Google) will registered it in their system (that part Wikipedia has no control) and it usually take a few hours to a few days before we could find in Google search. This means if the page is yet to be reviewed by reviewer/patroller than the page could not able to be found in search engine for it is not yet to been reviewed. If the reviewer or any editor (no matter how long the article existed in Wikipedia) thinks the article fails the notability guidelines, then they could nominate the article for deletion (AfD). (the reviewer can move move the page to draft if the draft is potential - but only limited of the new page reviewers have the page mover right (note: not the normal move via Twinkle)).
- (B) Submit via new page - (step 2) above.
- A limited of reviewers have both AfC and New Page reviewer/patrol right, so if a page in AfC is checked and passed by such reviewer then the page will automatic bypass step 2 once it is check by such reviewer. I have both reviewer rights and also page move right. The reviewer system is not first come first serve basic as all of us/editors are volunteers. Reviewers (both AfC and New Page) work on articles they choose/comfortable with/know that particular subject notability guidelines. So some article would review quickly but other/mostly would take a long time. There are about 3000 new pages and 4700 AfC (draft) articles waiting for review (this is actually very good number in comparison to normal) and the backlog is about 6 to 10 weeks for we have only about 700+ New Page and 500 (I think) AfC reviewers in English Wikipedia but only less than 10% is active reviewers. You have 71 pages created as of today - see here and all of them is in good standing (pass notability guidelines). When you have reached 150 articles created, when can request for autopatroll right, which mean once you have the right, the pages you have created do not need to go through the reviewer process. There are 3 active mma editor have such right and I am one of them.
- I use to create all the upcoming articles before you come along for last 4 years and since I have autopatroll right, I create the article on my note application in my computer and copy them to new page once the fighter finished the fight and sourced of the results is found. I review your articles for your weekly (and also I do do check all the upcoming notable mma articles on event days) so the article could be in mainspace and could be found in search engine at the soonest. Cassiopeia(talk) 23:31, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
- Cassiopeia Okay didn't know about the search engine part, I'll just leave it to you then for the normal weekly submissions until I reach 150. I already moved the Maxim Grishin article but thanks for the additional info.
- There is just one more fighter for tonight. All the best.HeinzMaster (talk) 23:43, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Other times, they updated their ranking and but did not remove the old ranking on many fighters. Sometimes they updated the ranking and change the ranking again the next day. Thanks for responding the message. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:18, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

WP:GA MMA class articles - collaboration
@PabloLikesToWrestle: hi, Hope you are feeling better with your injured shoulder. No fun for not able to train for awhile. As per our conversation, thank you for willing to collaborate with me to bring MMA event/fighters to WP:GA class. Please read the Wikipedia:Good article criteria and Wikipedia:Content assessment. UFC 148 is only one UFC event GA class article in Wikipedia. The article was nominated by Regice2020 and was rejected due to reasons Here. When I got involved to tackle the issues as per the review and expand the article, a few months later Regice2020 got himself banned due to WP:SOCK. Since then I was a lot busier since due to my work and I and didnt get chance to finish it. Our goal here is to address the review comments while keep the GA criteria in mind. We could use the same format of UFC 148 and we would also add a few section if anything is related and notable to be mentioned. The draft I am working on is Here. Pls see my comment in orange and the background need to be expand a lot more (pre fight conference and call out) and any suggestion is welcome.
@HeinzMaster and Ticelon: if you guys are interested to expand and bring mma fighters page to GA class, then pls let me know and let's discuss as we could work on different areas of the coloration work. Stay safe everyone and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 10:57, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Cassiopeia: hey, thanks for the wishes. Okay, I understand, imma work on it. Bless. PabloLikesToWrestle (talk) 19:27, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Cassiopeia: I'll take a look and work on it this week. I'm interested tho. HeinzMaster (talk) 21:48, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- HeinzMaster Thank for the reply. After you have read the links above and if you are interested to collaborate then we can discuss on a short list of fighters that we can work on. I can do the research and provide links and helping on draft but my command of languages (All languages that I know) is not very good for I suffered from mild condition of Irene Syndrome, so I hope you would help on drartign as well as the tidy up all the ce. Thank you and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 22:12, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- Cassiopeia Hello Cassiopeia, sorry for my delayed answer, I've been bit more inactive than usual as I've hit quite a rough patch in my personal life. I'm definitely interested in improving MMA articles in an effort to reach GA class. Should we create a short list of articles we could concentrate on, or how shall we proceed? Ticelon (talk) 16:12, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- @HeinzMaster and Ticelon: Ticelon, Sorry to know that you are going through a difficult time in your personal life. If you are finding it it difficult to contribution in this collaboration effort due to your personal life issues, then we can wait until such time when things has gotten better for you to start the projects. However, it you think you are ready and want to work on this project then you could start reading Wikipedia:Good article criteria and Wikipedia:Content assessment guidelines and GA MMA fighter pages such as Brock Lesnar and Matt Hughes (fighter). I have created a sub page HERE can list some class B/C pages and select a few which we could start on. Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome (pls discuss that in the subpage). Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:47, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

Country
I was indeed trying to be constructive but didn't realize that the edit was not put in the correct location because it is incompatible with the chosen template. So let's chalk it up to a simple mistake, and in no way would it be considered vandalism.
I would like it represented that 'Aleksandar Rakic represents his ethnic background by fighting under the country flag of Serbia'. He changed it before the Smith fight, clearly evident when he did his introductory walk. Also it has been updated on much more legitimate sites, such as ESPN (https://www.espn.com/mma/fighter/_/id/4079314/aleksandar-rakic), and most importantly the official UFC website (https://www.ufc.com/athlete/aleksandar-rakic). If you scroll down on his UFC bio, you will see that he represents 'Serbia', and if you watch the fight tonight on UFC 259, you will witness the Serbian flag in his introduction, as it has already been during his previous fight.
Why is me presenting factual information on this site, with viable sources, met with such aggressiveness, on numerous occasions. It's not necessary. Let's talk about it, and come to a compromise on how the information shall be represented on his page. If Aleksandar Rakic chooses to represent the flag of Serbia, it should be shown on this page. Please help me to place that info, and let me know where it should go. Is it the 'Personal Life' section? I feel as though it should be placed in the header. What do you think?
Sincerely, Newbie Wikipedian 75.156.45.126 (talk) 00:45, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
Can you please reply on my talk page. Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.156.45.126 (talk) 00:53, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- 75.156.45.126. Thank you for your message above. Rakic stated he was born in Vienna, Austria - as per source in the article and also numerous times in interviews. His parents are from Serbia or former Yugoslavia. It is not uncommon for fighters to "represent" their birth country and the countries where their parents are from (ethnicity/heritage). And some fighters chooses to represent the whole world (as one world) or the country their lives in as well as their birth country. However, he is not a Serbian. To introduce non factual statement (he is Serbian) is considered vandalism. Yugoslavia is no longer existed and if he happens to able to obtain Serbia citizenship due to his parents background or other means, then you need to provide the source to state he has the citizenship of Serbia. ESPN indicates which country he represents and it is not his birth country. No heritage/ethnicity can be stated in the infobox or the lead section (introduction) - see WP:Ethnicity, but it can be stated in the body text which already mentioned in the "Background" section -"Rakić was born and raised in Vienna, Austria, into an ethnic Serbian family." Stay safe and enjoy the fights. Best. Cassiopeia(talk) 00:58, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply.
- I don't understand how you came to the concusion that I was trying to edit his 'birthplace' or 'nationality'. I was trying to add which country he chooses to represent, as in what flag he fights under. Where should I put that information was my question. In the 'personal life' section or in the header? I'm going to state that 'He has chosen to fight under the country flag of Serbia during his bouts'
- Where should I put that info, with my sources of course?75.156.45.126 (talk) 01:08, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- 75.156.45.126. This is your edit - see here. In mma infobox, there are birth country, fight out of and no representing country. He stated he represent both Austria and Serbia for UFC 256 but his is UFC fights and not country vs country fight so it is irrelevant which countries he represent and as mentioned many fighters represent more than one countries or dedicated certain fights to someone and we dont list them for Wikipedia is just recorded the significant info and not all source info is included. Safe safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:17, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you again for your reply, but again you have misinterpreted what I was saying.
- 1) I already stated that I made an honest mistake by trying to edit the infobox. I DO NOT wish to edit the Birthplace or Nationality.
- 2) I have sources that verify that he has OFFICIALLY ( as in FOREVER, and not temporarily) CHANGED the country flag he fights under to Serbia, and was only asking for advice on where I should put that information. Under 'Personal Life' or in the header section.
- If we cannot reach common ground on where to update that information, I would like to request a higher administrator to review the information and give me advice. Cheers.75.156.45.126 (talk) 01:34, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- 75.156.45.126 You can take this discussion to the article talk page if you want and state what you want and see what other editors would say as this is the normal content dispute procedures in Wikipedia. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:47, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you for the good advice. I'm new, and need some guidance. You have just provided me with some. I will post something, but it will have to wait, since the fights are coming up. Enjoy the bouts tonight. Cheers75.156.45.126 (talk) 01:53, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

- .karellian-24 Good day. WP:LEAD is the introduction and the summary of the body text which it considered significant enough to be included. We dont included fight info but champinship and notable fights. For Poirier, the info can be included because he beat 5 ex champs. You could bring the discussion to the article talk page if and do ping the editor on the article talk page and also the editor talk page. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 09:04, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! So I can include the material back on Benjamin Adegbuyi? All mentioned by me are former top 10 heavyweights, plus champions in different organisations (some in Glory, and Londt was a K-1 final runner-up for instance). The info was removed by Belevalo, the multiple warned user. .karellian-24 (talk) 13:20, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
- .karellian-24, Yes you can. As long as the "source" body text mentioned them and if not pls provide source and indicate in the lead section. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 08:36, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Vandalism
Hi, sorry for bothering again, but I would like to ask something. There's a user that keeps changing info on the Amanda Nunes page to false data that's not supported by source. (here, here, and here). I wrote them a message at their talk page yesterday, but no response. I think it should be reported for vandalism, but I don't know how to do that or even if any editor is able to do it. Could you look at it if you have the time, please ? Once again, I'm very sorry for bothering and thanks in advance. 2A02:AB04:2F43:5000:598A:9E9B:7D48:9631 (talk) 15:30, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Ji%C5%99%C3%AD_Proch%C3%A1zka Jiří Procházka
- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Manel_Kape Manel Kape
- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Juliana_Velasquez Juliana Velasquez
All the best, and the best wishes as well. I'll also start on the GA project and i'll do the Polish fighters since it's my language after all and will try to work on the UFC 244 event page. HeinzMaster (talk) 04:31, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- HeinzMaster It is good to know a some more fighters made it to the list after the new mma notability guidelines was voted to be added. Pls give me a day or two to review it as where I live is experiencing some storm and as always, my internet service provider would limit/or maybe they have some issues to provide full service and many unpopular sites by the subscribers. The full internet service will usually be back up within a day. I will get them review asap once the the I have the access. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 08:26, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
