Gay map

Why did you revert the map back once Florida was light blue? It looked right to me. NYSMy talk page 23:40, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

It kept messing up. I think I expected the color to update immediately but it didn't. CTF83! 02:29, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
I had started messing with it after I posted that message to you, and it is screwed up somehow. I contacted an admin and he thinks it's a bug or something that the tech guys need to work out. NYSMy talk page 02:49, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for the update! CTF83! 03:22, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

American! Baklava

Thank you for providing your thoughts on the American Dad! ratings issue. Greatly appreciated! Doniago (talk) 12:30, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
So far I'm more worried that the admins can read the AD talk page and apparently not feel like it's something they should be doing anything about. I mentioned the prior block in the ANI filing as it seems, to me, noteworthy that they were previously blocked for exactly this kind of behavior. But I'm sure it's just all of us conspiring against AD86 because we want to own the article... Doniago (talk) 12:54, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
LOL, of course it is, that's why you posted on Family Guy, cause I edit that all the time...we should probably conspire more via e-mail that isn't trackable. ;) CTF83! 23:46, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Nah, don't want the NSA getting involved...I recommend implanting cellphones in our heads. Doniago (talk) 12:29, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Use paper messages and eat them afterwards. Much safer than a big transmitter in your skull. And no paper trail of course! Jenova20 (email) 12:36, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Do you think there's enough satellite coverage of the planet these days that smoke signals are no longer viable? Doniago (talk) 13:10, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
I like the paper idea..easily destroy the evidence. CTF83! 23:46, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
Given the IMO inexplicable classification of my ANI filing as a content rather than conduct dispute (I'm following up on that) and its subsequent failure, would you be willing to comment on AD86's Talkpage regarding their incivility towards me? The next step appears to be an RFC/U, but that requires that at least two editors have commented on their behavior with regards to the current situation. Doniago (talk) 05:56, 16 June 2013 (UTC) I've opened a DRN case per the recommendation of the ANI closer. You were notified here, feedback greatly appreciated! Accusation of sexual discrimination in use of "honey"

I know we haven't got on very well here at Wikipedia, but I just wanted to get something off my chest: Your most recent accusation against me of anti-gay bashing simply because of referring to you as "honey" really hurt my feelings. I myself am homosexual like you. As a 27 year old gay male who lives not very far from you in Wisconsin, you and I probably have a lot more in common than you think. When you act in these hostile ways against me, you are antagonizing a fellow member of your community who probably has a lot more in common with you than you think. I grew up in a home that was not so accepting of my sexuality. Given that, persecuting someone on basis of their sexuality is the last thing you'd see me engaging in. Were my remarks of "dear" and "honey" in explaining grammar to you condescending? Yes! But were they discriminatory? No, and I think you knew that! And I only responded that way because of your tendency to insult my edits as "garbage" or "horrible." I thought I'd come here and explain myself since you are a fellow member of the community. I'm not doing much editing here anymore because of the behaviors that have steered me away. AmericanDad86 (talk) 01:31, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

If I knew you were gay, I wouldn't have been offended by it! I just figured you were a straight guy being condescending. CTF83! 19:14, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
I understand. That makes sense. I admire how open and proud you are in your sexuality by the way. AmericanDad86 (talk) 03:39, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Image request

Do you ever get down below Muscatine? I visited Iowa for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and while I had only a little time, I was able to get photos of a few National Register sites, including all in Louisa County — except one. The County Line Bridge is on a dirt road, and that day was wet enough that I feared getting stuck. Do you know if you could get down that way any time soon, so that National Register of Historic Places listings in Louisa County, Iowa could be fully illustrated? Thanks! Nyttend (talk) 22:06, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Unfortunately I never get down that way. CTF83! 00:58, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Wikimedia LGBT

I see that you contribute a lot to LGBT-related content. I am not sure if you are familiar with (or even interested in) Wikimedia user groups or thematic organizations, but I thought I would direct you to Wikimedia LGBT at Meta-Wiki. This is a proposed organization that would promote the development of content on Wikimedia projects which is of interest to LGBT communities. I just thought I would point you in that direction to take a look when you have a few moments. If you are interested in participating, feel free to indicate your support. Otherwise, keep up the great work here at Wikipedia! --Another Believer (Talk) 22:32, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Due to my sparse editing, I wouldn't be much help. Thanks though! CTF83! 10:27, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Yolo

Well, it was reverted, so the matter is moot. Anyway, if we did that for every plot and airdate, we'd have episode articles six months before the actual airdate. I'd say that sticking to Saturdays to create them is probably the best, but other people's opinions may differ. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 00:47, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Remove

Why did you delete my question in the talk:Gay page? https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AGay&diff=348705151&oldid=348703144 I wanted to raise the issue that the article resembled a dictionary entry and not an encylopedia article. You commented with a link to https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Soapbox#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox, but that is not relevant to my post on a Talk page which was not promoting my own views at all, but rather the rules of Wikipedia. A48205864 (talk) 22:35, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

I can't remember why I did it, nearly 4 years ago. I can't answer it. CTF83! 00:33, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Disgruntled Goat

To further clarify my stance on the Disgruntled Goat issue: Some of the show's references are obvious, noted, and/or confirmed by those involved in its production. Some, like this one, are oblique and understated. To understand it, one must have a decent knowledge of the history of Warner Bros. animation. I can go into an unhealthy amount of detail as to why my edit is accurate, but, for now, I propose that it's not simple coincidence that the Warners' Gabby Goat was also a disgruntled, animated goat who had his moments but failed the audience test. Barring a signed letter from one of the writers, we must rely on the expertise of individuals to connect cultural threads like this one.BoscoTheFrigginWonderhorse (talk) 13:12, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

WP:RS requires a reliable source for information, that isn't common knowledge, and this isn't. Also note WP:OR. CTF83! 01:45, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Friendly request.

Hello there! I'm working on a project trying to bring most of the coding on Wikipedia up to the most current standards (HTML5), and I noticed that your signature is using <font>...</font> tags which were deprecated in HTML 4.0 Transitional, marked as invalid in 4.0 Strict, and are not part of HTML5 at all. I'd love to help you update your signature to use newer code, and if you're interested, I suggest replacing:
<span style="background:silver;font-family:Kristen ITC;">[[User:CTF83!|<font color="red">C</font><font color="#ff6600">T</font><font color="yellow">F</font><font color="green">8</font><font color="blue">3</font><font color="#6600cc">!</font>]]</span>
with:
[[User:CTF83!|<span style="background:#CCC;font-family:Kristen ITC;color:red">C<span style="color:#F60">T</span><span style="color:#FF6">F</span><span style="color:#080">8</span><span style="color:blue">3</span><span style="color:#60C">!</span></span>]]
which will result in a 253 character long signature with an appearance of: CTF83!
compared to your existing 250 character long signature of: CTF83!
— Either way. Happy editing! — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 19:57, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Bud Light.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bud Light.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 10:05, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Bud Light.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Bud Light.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:27, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Photo requests

Do you do photo requests in Iowa or Illinois for Wikipedia? WhisperToMe (talk) 04:50, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

Hey, sorry, not very active anymore. If it's close to me (Davenport, Iowa) I could take some photos. What do you have in mind? CTF83! 06:44, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
I notice Davenport North High School doesn't have a photo of its main building and Davenport West High School has no photos at all. Would you be interested in getting those pictures? WhisperToMe (talk) 09:13, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
I sure can! Those are easy! Let me know what else you find that needs photos! CTF83! 22:04, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
Alrighty! If you want another in Davenport, how about the current post office at 933 W 2ND ST DAVENPORT, IA 52802-9998? If you do Rock Island, Illinois I can list stuff for that area too. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:31, 1 February 2017 (UTC)
Rock Island sounds good! CTF83! 20:27, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Rock Island ideas:

  • Police Department: 1212 5th Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201
  • Fire Department: 1313 Fifth Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201 (plus fire stations of your choice: Station 2: 9010 Ridgewood Road, Rock Island, IL 61201 - Station 3: 1601 30th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201 and/or Station 4 3101 Ninth Street Rock Island, IL 61201 )
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 630 Martin Luther King Drive, Rock Island, IL 61201
  • Rock Island-Milan School District 41
    • Headquarters: 2101 6th Ave. Rock Island, IL
    • Rock Island High School: 1400 25th Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201
    • Elementary and middle schools of your choice
  • Alleman High School: 1103 40th Street, Rock Island, Illinois 61201-3199
  • Post offices:
    • DOWNTOWN ROCK ISLAND: 1956 2ND AVE, ROCK ISLAND, IL 61201-9700
    • ROCK ISLAND: 2633 11TH ST, ROCK ISLAND, IL 61201-9998

Yet more Davenport ideas:

  • Elementary and middle schools of your choice controlled by the Davenport Community School District - If they don't have articles of their own they can work on the Commons. It may also be good to make a Commons category for schools controlled by the district.
  • Northwest Post Office: 4018 MARQUETTE ST, DAVENPORT, IA 52806-9715

Inspired by your non-Alt signature, I can get to 257 characters, by approximating silver and green, but this is still 2 over the limit:

Problem with your custom signature

Hello, I'm sending you this note because you need to update your signature. You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Your signature does not link to your account. This is usually because your account has been renamed.

To fix your signature, you need to find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences and either blank it or change the link to your current account name. More information is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. mw:New requirements for user signatures/Help#Wrong user links. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures.

The Wikimedia LGBTQ+ User Group is holding online working days in May. As a member of WikiProject LGBT studies, editing on LGBTQ+ issues or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, come help us set goals, develop our organisation and structures, consider how to respond to issues faced by Queer editors, and plan for the next 12 months.

We will be meeting online for 3 half-days, 14–16 May at 1400–1730 UTC. While our working language is English, we are looking to accommodate users who would prefer to participate in other languages, including translation facilities.
