Sabbath
Thats cool man, thanks. I am just writing the bulk of the article now, but once I get all the info I can from this book, I am sure the article will need some refining and stuff. I really wanna find some early pics and 80's ones that I can use in the article, but who knows how that will happen. Thankfully someone posted a hommade pic from 73 at wikicommons, but other than that they are all H&H reunion pics. Anyway, what is on your scope after the AiC discog? Are you gona get United Abominations up to GA? If you need help, let me know, I can try and refine some of the prose if it needs it. \m/ Skeletor2112 (talk) 06:23, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- hey dude, I know what you mean - everyone needs a wiki-break now and then (hell, I took a year off!) but there is always work to do... I will take a look at United Abominations, but I probably wont have much time to write on it untill I finish Sabbath (this one is monsterous!) \m/ Skeletor2112 (talk) 11:16, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hey dude, I reverted some of the stuff you changed on the Black Sabbath lead - Iommi injured his hand in 1965, and didnt detune until Master of Reality - the third album. Also he did not invent the "devil's interval" or tritone - priests banned the interval way back in like the 1500's, and they only have one quadruple platinum album - Paranoid. 2 others are 2x platinum (in the US). I will take a look at Opeth when I get a chance, I love their older stuff, so I hope you can get them to FA! \m/ Skeletor2112 (talk) 06:01, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I have to go back and source a lot of stuff, but I have everything pretty much laid out, the book is responsable for most of the quotes(and there are some good ones). And it looks like I may have to replace some of the RockDetector.com cites, and it sucks because they have a good bio of Sabbath - and the guy who wrote it also wrote a few Sabbath bio biooks, maybe I'll pick up one if citing gets hard. And nice work cleaning up Opeth for the final push - I think its close. I'm gonna put up a notice at the Metal Project page to see if we can get more votes on it. \m/ Skeletor2112 (talk) 04:44, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Opeth
Why do you keep removing Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater from the associated acts? Opeth, DT and PT are all associated in one way or another and it should be mentioned in the article. Porcupine Tree has more in common/relation with Opeth than Edge Of Sanity, Katatonia, Krux, Nifelheim, Satanic Slaughter, Tiamat or Witchery. Also, Dream Theater has as much in common with Opeth as Edge Of Sanity or Katatonia do. Please explain your blatant vadalism of this article and give me solid reasons why all of those other bands I mentioned are more worthy of being associated acts than Dream Theater or Porcupine Tree. May I also add, that Porcupine Tree have more in common with Opeth in terms of volume compared to all of those other bands combined. Some of them arent even related at all, in any way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalstyle (talk • contribs) 03:51, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Seriuosly. Lets just call it a truce. You can leave your associated bands on the page, we can leave Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree on the page and call it a day. Theres no point in you trying to continue some sort of conflict with me or other wikipedia editors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.114.124.161 (talk) 04:01, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Here is a good question for you. Is Mikael Akerfeldt associated with Opeth? Because if you concider him to be, then both DT and PT have sufficient grounds to be associated acts with Opeth. I find it hard to fathom how you do not see these two bands as associted acts, yet, both DT and PT fans agree and have allowed for Opeth to remain on their "associated" lists. You are the only person I have ever come into contact with (internet or in person) that does not agree with the DT and PT associations. Please also tell me who in Opeth has ever been a full time or part time member of the bands Edge of Sanity and Katatonia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalstyle (talk • contribs) 04:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I have been nothing but polite to you, so why you are threatening me is quite confusing.
I have been listening to metal since about '91 and had gotten into Opeth during the time Morningrise was released. Around '96 or so...
Ever since then, though my musical tastes have expanded, Opeth still remain as my all time favorite band.
As for Edge of Sanity, Martin Axenrot has never been associated with them in any way whatsoever. I know this
because I personaly still buy my records and own every Edge Of Sanity release, Axenrot is never mentioned once
in any of the albums' booklets or credits. Also, my question about Katatonia was a trick question....which I knew you
would miss and get wrong. Axenrot has also never been associated in any way with Katatonia. It is actually Opeth's mainman
Mikael Akerfeldt that was a member of Katatonia. I know for a fact that im older than you and obviuosly I have a higher level of education but im still offering you a truce. I will leave this topic alone, if you are willing to be a civil human being and willing to compromise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalstyle (talk • contribs) 04:31, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I do not have a problem with you getting an "admin" involved. But, knowing your level of maturity, you are probably going find someone who is an online buddy of yours who just happens to be a Wikipedia "admin". If you can get someone who is non-biased and third party, I will be glad to take you up on this issue for him/her to decide. Until then, since you are claiming to be civil, I recommend that PT and DT remain (since I am respecting your opinions and are allowing for your associated acts to remain) until a final third party resolution can be made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalstyle (talk • contribs) 04:40, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I am not picking on anyone. I am simply trying to resolve our dispute in a polite and respectful manner. My edits are the furthest from useless. Im only acting in a constructive tone.
Re
I'm not upset about it anymore, so don't worry about that. So, you make a lot of spelling errors... Let me know which articles you are working on (I know Machine Head and AIC), and I'll go through and scan it for any mistakes. Just leave me a message to let me know whenever you want me to take a look at some stuff. And you know that I am good at finding online references, like AMG, band's official websites, confirmed announcements from band chatsites, etc.
If you would like to help me out, I am trying to get some articles up to GA. These include Pantera, Korn, Slipknot, SFU, Children of Bodom, Dying Fetus and Napalm Death. Just check them out whenever you get a chance, and reply on my talkpage on what looks good, what can be improved, what needs sourcing, spelling errors, and what can be removed. I really appreciate your help, dude! Dark Executioner (talk) 00:14, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeak, I know, but it's only a very rough and still unfinished version of the article. I'm busy at school and stuff so the progress is not going that fast. And thanks, I didn't even know about this album:) Gocsa (talk) 18:15, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

GA
How do you nominate articles for this? I'm ready to test SFU out in the process! Dark Executioner (talk) 15:47, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
I added some more info, and more importantly, more sources, to the Six Feet Under article. Will you take another look at it to see if it meets GA standards? Thanks. \m/ Dark Executioner (talk) 00:21, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, It's DE. There are now 16 different sources for Six Feet Under, and I have cleaned the page up substantially. I don't know if you've seen it yet, but there is also now a peer review sectioon open in SFU's talk page. I would very much like to hear your comments on what can be improved, what is looking good, etc. whenever you get a chance. Thanks, Dark Executioner (talk) 21:37, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm a bit confused on what I need to do with the references. You mean it's not just good enough to list the site and provide a link?... Also, I haven't the slightest clue how to put images on Wikipedia. I tried putting one for Cavalera Conspiracy, but all it did was make a red link of some random words and letters... I know I've seen some free SFU pictures, but I need someone else to upload it for me.
I have renamed their history section based on the albums (ex. 1992-1997 now reads "Beginnings, Haunted, Warpath), and I have also included a referenced "Musical Style" section.
I think that this page is getting better by the day, and to tell you personally, I couldn't be happier w/ the progress the page has seen lately! Thanks, Dark Executioner (talk) 03:28, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for putting an image onto the page for me! \m/ Dark Executioner (talk) 15:42, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Now I know how to format references, thanks dude! I've already done two of them, if you could do some then that would be swell. I'll be working on it more very soon. Dark Executioner (talk) 17:13, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Opeth related acts dispute
I have started a discussion on the talk page regarding the matter, and offered my own opinion on the subject generally- I don't know enough about the dispute to be specific at this time. For future reference, for content disputes like this, please take it to the article talk page as soon as you can smell an edit war- edit summaries like 'See talk' are useful here. If the user in question ignores the talk page, then contact them on their talk page, drawing their attention to the article talk page. If the dispute on the talk page fails to reach a conclusion, then contacting a third party is a good option. Careful about contacting me specifically though- people could feasibly accuse you of going to someone who you know will agree with you, due to the fact that we have worked together before. Also, don't get sucked into thinking we admins are super-editors- we just have some extra tools for keeping the encyclopedia clean, we have no more power than anyone else in a content dispute. As such, a neutral message on the WikiProject talk page (just request a third opinion, don't go into a load of rhetoric- that just spills the dispute to another page) may be the best option. That said, if dealing with overt policy breaches, (civility, 3RR, vandalism etc) then, as an admin, I would be a good person to contact. Thanks. J Milburn (talk) 17:03, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- On an unrelated note- wow. Opeth is looking absolutely fantastic. J Milburn (talk) 17:13, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Good choice- best of luck with that. J Milburn (talk) 23:29, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- Don't let anyone talk you into taking the article off FAC - just try to address the concerns you feel relevant. I certainly feel the article is at least near FA quality, or possibly even FA quality. LuciferMorgan (talk) 19:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm a little busy at present, so it's not for what I can do. However, I'm sure I'll find a major project to write sooner or later. Given the fact that the Sabbath article is getting a rewrite, I think it'd be great if the Heaven and Hell (band) article was given a makeover. If you want some help with it, give me a bell. Re: Opeth
Hey, I gave it a bit of a look. I noticed some things that needed fixing. However, I wasn't able to give it a full, proper copyedit, as I am a musician, and I was wanted to prevent any conflict of interest (admittedly, I would've been biased had I copyedited the whole thing). - If he's really not available, what about locating others from the edit history pages of similar articles (there are plenty of FAs in this field); the word-nerds are obvious from their edit summaries. Tony (talk) 07:33, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have to ration my input to WP, and I want the largest footprint in terms of improving the standards of prose. One way of doing that is by not copy-editing directly, but asking people to find collaborators. I could copy-edit full-time on WP for nothing, but it's too much like my paid work. Perhaps widen the scope beyond bands, to popular music, popular culture. Wikipedia:Featured_articles#Music. In "the smashing pumkins" FA, I saw, at first glance, Paul Erik.
