Speedy deletion of Daedric Princes
[edit]A tag has been placed on Daedric Princes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. TheIslander 19:26, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Please see the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daedric Princes regarding this. You may request a review of this at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Until the deletion is reviewed, recreated articles with this title will be deleted.SkierRMH (talk) 06:46, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Sunshine
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Sunshine (2007 film) are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 22:18, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Usually, if discussion has been on the talk page for a while, most editors don't "clean up" belatedly. However, if the existing general discussion encourages further general discussion in the present, reverts and heads-up messages will take place. Besides, even if it was OK to answer these questions, those who asked the questions are likely to be long gone. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 15:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Re: Warnings
[edit]Re your message: An editor or anonymous IP should receive a final warning (aka, fourth level warning) before you report them to WP:AIV. How they get to the fourth level varies. If appropriate, you can jump straight to {{uw-vandalism4im}}. Sometimes you go from level 1 to 3 and then 4. It's a judgment call depending upon how severe the vandalism is. After awhile, you will begin to get a feel for when editors are here to cause trouble and won't stop versus the ones where one warning will make them stop.
There are some exceptions of course. If the vandalism was so bad, you can report them immediately without warning. Generally, it's got to be real bad.
As for the group of editors doing the Saharia, I was probably a bit too lenient with them at first. I let Yashpi (talk · contribs) slide because Way2hot2becool (talk · contribs) vandalized the same article days ago and I give editors a little slack when they're just piling on to vandalize something that's been vandalized for awhile. Blacksweater123 (talk · contribs) first appeared with a simple test-like edit, but that was my first indication that this might be a group of kids playing around at the same time. Blacksweater123 eventually got blocked. With Shashdawg (talk · contribs), I went straight to uw-vandalism4im because it was obvious he was tag team editing and not here to make useful contributions. Saharia is an obscure article to target for vandalism, so I probably should have started at level 2 warnings. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:24, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- On a side note, I moved your question to a new section at the bottom of my talk page as I wanted to separate your question from a vandal complaining about the warnings I had issued them. I didn't think you wanted to be associated with that. =) If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:30, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Alan Keyes
[edit]Actually, it's the inclusion of material in Wikipedia that needs to be justified. The removal of unsourced material in biographies of living persons certainly does not. I agree that Alan Keyes is a nutcase, but that is already clear from the sourced material that is included in the article. Dlabtot (talk) 01:48, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

GOCE March drive newsletter
[edit] Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive update
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter. Participation: We have had 58 people sign up for this drive so far, which compares favorably with our last drive, and 27 have copy-edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: Our target of completing the 2010 articles has almost been reached, with only 56 remaining of the 194 we had at the start of the drive. The last ones are always the most difficult, so thank you if you are able to help copy-edit any of the remaining articles. We have reduced the total backlog by 163 articles so far. Special thanks: Special thanks to Stfg, who has been going through the backlog and doing some preliminary vetting of the articles—removing copyright violations, doing initial clean-up, and nominating some for deletion. This work has helped make the drive a more pleasant experience for all our volunteers. GOCE March drive wrap-up
[edit] Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! This is the most successful drive we have had for quite a while. Here is your end-of-drive wrap-up newsletter. Participation Of the 70 people who signed up for this drive, 40 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Special acknowledgement goes out to Lfstevens, who did over 200 articles, most of them in the last third of the drive, and topped all three leaderboard categories. You're a superstar! Stfg and others have been pre-checking the articles for quality and conformance to Wikipedia guidelines; some have been nominated for deletion or had some preliminary clean-up done to help make the copy-edit process more fun and appealing. Thanks to all who helped get those nasty last few articles out of the target months. Progress report During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—October, November, and December 2010—from the queue, and have now eliminated all the 2010 articles from our list. We were able to complete 500 articles this month! End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. When working on the backlog, please keep in mind that there are options other than copy-editing available; some articles may be candidates for deletion, or may not be suitable for copy-editing at this time for other reasons. The {{GOCEreviewed}} tag can be placed on any article you find to be totally uneditable, and you can nominate for deletion any that you discover to be copyright violations or completely unintelligible. If you need help deciding what to do, please contact any of the coordinators. Thank you for participating in the March 2012 drive! All contributions are appreciated. Our next copy-edit drive will be in May. Your drive coordinators – Dianna (Talk), Stfg (Talk), and Dank (talk)To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list.

[edit]December Notes from the Guild of Copy Editors
The December blitz ran from December 8–14. The theme for this blitz was articles tied in some way to religion. Seven editors knocked out 20 articles over the course of the week. Our next blitz will be in February, with a theme to be determined. Feel free to make theme suggestions at the Guild talk page! The January 2014 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on January 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on January 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in October and November 2012 and complete all requests placed before the end of 2013. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in October and November 2012", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there! Coordinator election: Voting is open for candidates to serve as GOCE coordinators from 1 January through 30 June 2014. Voting will run until the end of December. Needing some help with Beyond: Two Souls edits[edit]Hi Brin, I came across your user page after reading the message you sent to CFCF regarding the blatant edit-warring involved for Beyond: Two Souls. I remember reading that you were willing to provide citations for the game. Apparently, just recently, CFCF is back to the usual M.O. again, reverting the summaries back to the more developer-focused summaries. I am just one man, and can't keep an eye on the article 24/7, especially when it comes to making sure the citations are working properly. Just figured I'd give you a heads-up about this. I restored the plot summary with some trimming to the best of my ability. If there's anything in the plot summary you can condense better than me, go for it. Thanks in advance. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 03:46, 8 December 2020 (UTC) Magellan (film) is a mess – please clean up yourself[edit]Hello Brinlong, I want to re-acquaint you to an "orphan" of yours: Back in January 2018, you created the page Magellan (film) – as a "place-holder", as you wrote. Unfortunately you didn't do this on a subpage of your user, as would have been advisable, but in the main namespace. Two days later you copied the framework from the movie Interstellar, including leaving in place (amongst other Interstellar-remnants) the editor of that film, Lee Smith. Then for some reason you abandoned any attempt at making an article out of it. On February 4, 2018, Bovineboy2008 came along, saw that this was obviously not even a valid stub, and decided to place a redirect to... Lee Smith, wo isn't the editor of Magellan (2017) (and even if he were, this redirect of a sandbox-quality framework to an article about an editor would always be a bad idea). Now the article-sandbox was hidden out of sight and out of mind, slumbering until I moved the page So I want to give you the opportunity to rescue anything from the old framework you feel is worth salvaging (I personally don't think there is anything worthwhile there), and place it on a subpage of yours, before you (or Bovineboy2008) request a delete of the page "Magellan (film)". Because if ever an article were to be created about any film called Magellan, it should be named Magellan (2007 film), Magellan (2017 film), etc. (I've found even more films of the same title.) There is no reason for "Magellan (film)" to exist. Instead, a couple of entries in Magellan (disambiguation) would be useful. Greetings from --Sprachraum (talk) 10:05, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
