Keeping all flags up on page

[edit]

@Rybkovich I'd like to advocate for keeping all the flags up on our page. I think it makes it much easier and inviting for someone to come along and say "Hey, I know a national drink from a missing country" and fill it in. Also, it shows people the "vision" we have for the project -- all countries filled in at some point. Hopefully pretty quickly countries will get fillled in, but some of the more obscure countries might take a while...BrieDeChevre (talk) 17:05, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OK no probs Rybkovich (talk) 05:36, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Lets discuss National Drinks pics here

[edit]

I think we should only have one pic of coke, we have two now. It's up to you which one, if you agree. Also lets not make Coke be the first pic, it shouldn't be a specific brand pic, something more national like the bubble drink or lassi or soju Rybkovich (talk) 06:43, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The description for Imperial is confusing, whats Auilar? Also we should get a better pic, here the glass of beer is cut off. Rybkovich (talk) 07:04, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I now have boba tea as the first pic, instead of the Coca-Cola bottle. I moved the Coca-Cola bottle to the US. We now have a better picture for Imperial beer (Costa Rica). I put up a picture for India (mango lassi), but I think it could be better. I searched Wikimedia Commons and they were the same pics as through Wikipedia. Flickr has some better pics, but I got confused about copyright issues and how to insert the right links (regarding copyright) into the final picture we post on our page. Maybe you could show me what pictures on Flickr are okay to use, and how to cite the pictures appropriately… BrieDeChevre (talk) 17:44, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Region sections

[edit]

I think we should make a regions section. Like Latin American Dish in National dish. Because many countries share the same drink or have different types of the same drink. Like Beer in western europe, wine southern, vodka eastern. We can give a more detailed description of the drink in those descriptions. We can just put those right below the intro. Still have the countries organized alphabetically, for easy reference. A general description of beer uptup well make it easier to just give preferences for brands of beer in individual countries like heineken in Holland. Rybkovich (talk) 17:03, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I like your idea. However, at this time I don't feel knowledgeable enough to write such a section, although what you say about beer and wine and vodka makes sense to me. BrieDeChevre (talk) 17:43, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text into Draft:National drinks from other pages. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:28, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Diannaa: I made a dummy edit to create a "copied from" history bye line. Is that sufficient? Rybkovich (talk) 03:46, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's the idea. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 10:31, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of national drinks, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Please don't randomly populate the encyclopedia without using a WP:RS source. Also, 'water' as a national drink, not just a universal drink? That's illogical and unnecessary. Zefr (talk) 20:34, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
