Hi Bobby, congrats for becoming a celebrity ;) Chris just pointed me to the interview on SABC which apparently resulted in some serious editing activity - or did you run an editathon in parallel? Congratulations on encouraging 67 South Africans to consider contributing to Wikipedia. This is a great achievement. You have mentioned organizing another editathon, possibly over three days. If you do so, together with other Women in Red participants, I could help you along. Every month we have a "Geofocus". If we can plan ahead over the rest of the year, we could easily fit in a geofocus on South Africa to coincide with you next editathon. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Wikipedia Capacity Building Workshop

AfroCine: Join us for the Months of African Cinema in October!

AfroCine: The Months of African Cinema Continues….

Greetings!

Thank you very much for signing up to participate in the Months of African Cinema global contest/edit-a-thon, and thank you for your contributions so far.

It is already the middle of the contest and a lot have been achieved already! We have been able to get over 200 articles created in over seven (7) languages! The figures soars to up to a thousand, if Wikidata entries are included. Furthermore, there have been about 5 in-person gatherings of Wikipedians in different countries across the world to create articles about African(a) cinema!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages.
