RINT icons in Route templates
[edit]Hi there. Reaching out after this edit. My practice, and practice I have observed, is that {{rint}} in the Route templates is only used at stations where a connection occurs, not where that service splits off from the corridor. I haven't reverted your change to {{GO Transit Lakeshore East}}, because to make it consistent will take additional edits, and I wanted to have a discussion with you first. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers. --Natural RX 19:45, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- Personally, I find the icons to be helpful for showing branches, especially when there is not enough room for text (such as the first row of the Lakeshore East line in question). I also see rint icons used in other templates such as Template:6 (New York City Subway service) for the 4 and 5 trains. I don't see any possible issue with including icons assuming there is no ambiguity of a connection. Thanks, –BLAixx 23:51, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
Help with maps
[edit]Thanks for the map update at Ontario Hockey League. Would you be able to fix up the map at the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League? It's way too big. Cheers ! Flibirigit (talk) 22:20, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- I can give it a try, the OHL one was my first map! BLAixx 22:57, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding it :-) Flibirigit (talk) 00:48, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
Much improved at the QMJHL article. Cheers! Flibirigit (talk) 01:12, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, I agree! BLAIXX 01:18, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
Do you think it would be worthwhile making one big map for the Canadian Hockey League? If we tried it, only put three colours, one for each league. Or, we could just put three small maps on the page? Flibirigit (talk) 01:34, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- I think one large map could work, although it would have to be just the markers without labels (city names) because of how close together they'd be. Perhaps the markers could be clickable? BLAIXX 02:43, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- That's a good idea. Try to use the league colours for the icons. WHL=red, OHL, darker blue, QMJHL, lighter blue. Flibirigit (talk) 02:47, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
I thought that @MB: might be able to assist. He or she has been around a long time, and worked with maps! Flibirigit (talk) 05:25, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

FYI station renaming
[edit]As as local editor, you may have an interest in Talk:Toronto Pearson Viscount Station#Requested move 6 February 2018. So far the discussion seems to be by people who do not regularly take an interest in Toronto stations. Secondarywaltz (talk) 17:21, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
L1O TFC 3 Playoffs
[edit]Do you have a source on them not entering the playoffs? I know that they're not eligible for the Voyageurs Cup but this is the first I've heard about them not entering the L1O playoffs. -Gopherbashi (talk) 02:02, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, I just added the reference to the article, thanks! From the source: "A TFC official at the Saturday game agreed they can keep their commitment to try to win that before their USSDA season starts. They will NOT be playing in the L1O second season—top eight playdowns for the championship". BLAIXX 18:58, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
Forge FC colours
[edit]I noticed that you edited the Forge FC article and template to use official colours, but I inspected the colours on the emblem inspiration site, and the exact hex codes used are #53565a for grey and #dc4405 for the orange. Is there a source you used for the official colours? I don't want to revert back in case there was a better source you had used. Thanks UmpireRay (talk) 02:04, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- That's very interesting. I got the colours from the media and branding guidelines document located here. I got to that page from the forgefc.canpl website but I can't find it there anymore. BLAIXX 02:37, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- I remember seeing that document, it's weird that it's no longer on the site. Nevertheless, that does seem like a better source, so I think it makes sense to stick with those colours. Thanks UmpireRay (talk) 03:05, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 27
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Alberta Major Soccer League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Edmonton Drillers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

MOS:BODY
[edit]You started in a very convenient place there. The full sentence there reads, "Very short or very long sections and subsections in an article look cluttered and inhibit the flow of the prose." Sections that are two or three paragraphs long are very short. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:35, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Very convenient indeed, thank you! Sections that are nine or ten paragraphs long are very long which is which is why I think subsections are a good idea. BLAIXX 19:57, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
Oakville Blue Devil Editing Assistance.
[edit]Hey there Blaixx,
I'm trying to edit the Oakville Blue Devils page to have it similar to how a larger teams infobox would be and to make the information a bit more clear I was hoping to individually list their League 1 Ontario season, League 1 Ontario Cup season, and Canadian Championship season and where they placed for each spaced separately much like when you look at Manchester United's page for instance and see FA Cup, EPL, etc, etc.
I saw your name on the edit list a few times and thought I'd ask someone who knows what their doing for a bit of help as the last few times I've attempted it (visual and code editing) I mess it up a bit and it doesn't show and was even marked for possible vandalism! Which isn't my intention, this may not be the proper way to ask for assistance as I'm still considered a novice in editing when it comes to Wikipedia but would love to learn, is there somewhere you can direct me to learn a bit more and/or how to update those individual leagues for OBD — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doucet3 (talk • contribs) 17:31, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @Doucet3: I think I see what you were going for but that might not be completely possible. The infoboxes on pages have pre-determined headings depending on what template was used. Manchester United F.C. and Oakville Blue Devils FC use Template:Infobox football club which only has one line for last season's result. 2018–19 Manchester United F.C. season, for example, uses Template:Infobox football club season which has parameters for all of the various cups (FA, EPL, etc). The reason that there is no article for 2018 Oakville Blue Devils FC season is because it would lack notability, and would be very short.
- I hope that makes sense, let me know if I need to clarify. And don't worry about messing up a few times, it was clearly not vandalism in my opinion. If you want to experiment more, I recommend you copy and paste the infobox into your sandbox as to not disrupt the article.
- Let me know if you have any other questions! BLAIXX 18:00, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
- Ahhh okay that makes a bit more sense, I've been editing for a while (mostly minor things created small pages at best) and normally never have an issue when doing the type of edits I was today. I didn't know there were different predetermined infoboxes for football club's I always just thought you could add on as you go. So for instances, like this one, how would I get a new in without making a mess of things? would I have to relist everything or is there a way to change the format and just continue adding. I agree the page (season by season) would be too small and I think Division III of Canadian Football isn't ready for that type of detail yet! Will for sure use Sandbox more often, I just simpply copy/paste when I want to test on and edit away correct?
- One side thought is I see that the L1O has regular season and Cup results but how would we add the Canadian Champ? I think given the Cup Competition is expanding I think showing the L1O and PLSQ teams who compete would be great info to help keep track of who's been in the comp and so on... aside from the CanChamp main page obviously. Thanks again for the guidance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doucet3 (talk • contribs) 18:58, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately it's not very easy to modify the template to allow for the type of parameters you are proposing. I think it would be best to have just the season placement and playoff finish in that spot. It might be a good idea to create a table of seasons for OBD that has columns for Season, Playoffs, Cup, and Canadian Champs like the one Ottawa Fury has. And yes, for the sandbox just grab the whole infobox, paste and edit! BLAIXX 18:18, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
Australian Women's team
[edit]Take a look at the logo on the left chest of the players at [1] and compare it to the logo on the No. 8 player in File:Seleções feminina do Canadá e Austrália enfrentam-se em SP (28643707552).jpg. Louisville City FC and USL
[edit]I was in Austin when the Aztex moved to Orlando and was there when Orlando moved to Louisville. Louisville City is the continuation of the Austin Aztex and Orlando City SC, hence why I made the change that Louisville City was founded in 2008. Orlando City SC, also was not "founded" in 2010, as they were the relocated Austin Aztex. Dsides12 (talk) 22:17, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- What I've read is that Orlando did not relocate to Louisville, they just transferred their USL licence. If you compare 2014 Orlando City SC season#Roster with 2015 Louisville City FC season#Squad information you will see that there is no overlap between the two teams' rosters.
- The rosters aren't the same because most of the Orlando players transfered over to MLS while the TEAM (and thus the license) moved to Louisville.Dsides12 (talk) 00:13, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- Also, I think you are confusing the two Austin teams. The original Aztex FC relocated to Orlando before the founding of the current USL and the 2015 Aztex folded after 1 season in the USL. –BLAIXX 00:35, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not confusing the two Austin teams. The Austin Aztex FC (the first one) moved to Orlando for 2010. That Orlando City team moved to Louisvile to make room for the MLS Orlando City team. So Louisville City FC is a continuation of the two earlier teams, which began in 2008.Dsides12 (talk) 00:11, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- You are confusing the two Austin teams. Your recent edit to the "Former clubs" section of USL Championship indicates that Austin Aztex left USL in 2015 and "Moved to Orlando". This is clearly false. The first Austin Aztex never played in the USL (est. 2011) and are therefore not included in the "Former clubs" table. BLAIXX 00:37, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

- Dude---no one called Austin Aztex FC, Austin Aztex FC. Fact is the team moved to Orlando and that team moved to Louisville. THOSE ARE THE FACTS.Dsides12 (talk) 15:16, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- Could you clarify which Austin Aztex you are talking about and what you mean by "no one called them that". If you are talking about the 2009 team, their logo says "Austin Aztex FC" right on it. For the rest of this discussion, could you please provide citations from reliable sources rather than insisting that you are correct? BLAIXX 16:35, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- hmmm...citations didn't atatch. As for the 2009 Aztex, it may of been on the logo, but we never mentioned the FC part. We only called them Austin Aztex. Anyway here are the links to the club progression:
Austin to Orlando to Louisville. Very easy google search....I insisted I was correct because I was. There is something to be said for 1st hand knowledge.Dsides12 (talk) 23:29, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Are you the one who reverted Louisville FC to coming into the league in 2014 from their real year of 2008 as Austin Aztex FC? I put it back how it is supposed to be. The news articles are there.Dsides12 (talk) 20:58, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- Just to put another fine point on it, on both Austin Aztex FC's and the USL Orlando City SC wikipages, there is a line on both about the team moving to the next city and becoming the next incarnation. From Austin Aztex FC: On October 22, 2010, an article was published that indicated that the team was likely to move to Orlando, Florida, for the 2011 season.[5] This was confirmed on October 25, as the team became Orlando City SC
From Orlando City SC: Orlando City's USL Pro license was acquired by minority owner Wayne Estopinal in June 2014. Estopinal moved the USL Pro team to Louisville, Kentucky, for the 2015 season, becoming Louisville City FC. The team became Orlando City's USL Pro affiliate, with James O'Connor becoming that club's manager.Dsides12 (talk) 03:52, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
GO Green
[edit]Hey. RE: the GO Green conversation, just wanted to emphasize that I'm not taking your points personally, I think we're having constructive debate. I'm also hoping, if we can't come to an agreement, that we get the perspectives of others. Cheers. --Natural RX 21:30, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

GO Station ridership
[edit]Hi - thanks for the note about ridership. Good point about how it's only 8 months of the year. Might be better to switch the daily ridership, or increase it by 50% to get the annual ridership. Tompw (talk) 22:24, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Tompw: Or we could use the same field and put April-November 2018 as the year? Not sure if that's allowed. BLAIXX 22:51, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- I looked the gudiance at Template:Infobox_station. For the 'passengers' parameter, it states "Number of passengers using the station. In the reference, please make it clear if this figure is per day, per year, etc.". So I'm inclined to use daily ridership, so the "number" is something like "2,000", and the year remains "2018". I think that would be more meaningful. Tompw (talk) 19:03, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

2018–19 Toronto Maple Leafs season
[edit]Hi there. Thank you for correcting the edit that I made on the Maple Leafs article. I was just updating the team leaders and I just assumed that Michael Hutchinson was the GAA leader since his GAA is 2.64. I never took the number of games played into consideration. Also, is there a minimum number of games that a goaltender has to play to be the GAA leader? This is just something for me to refer to in the future. Yowashi (talk) 17:57, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Yowashi: Thanks for you edit and comment here. I don't think there is actually a firm rule for minimum games played but I've seen 15% (about 12 games) used in the past. BLAIXX 21:09, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
- I noticed that the sorting for the plus/minus on the Maple Leafs article was not working properly, which was why I added the organizer so that the sorting would work. Although, it appears that the sorting seems to work without the use of the organizer, so everything should be fine. I apologize for my actions. Yowashi (talk) 20:31, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Yowashi: No need to apologize! Wikipedia articles are an iterative process. You improved the article by added the sort templates and I think I improved it further. There are many kinds of dashes that look mostly the same but sort differently: - − – —. Check out MOS:MINUS and MOS:DASH for information on when to use which, if you're interested. [edit]I've just closed your two RMs (1, 2). It's probably best to start a discussion laying out both sides (i.e. the debate history) on an appropriate project talk page and tag it with {{rfc}} to centralise the discussion. Many thanks, SITH (talk) 17:38, 24 March 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation
[edit]It is okay that you modernise template like Template:ETS LRT navbox and Template:ETS LRT route, but could you please check the links you have created? Both articles have now two links to disambiguation pages and the new system is so user unfriendly and badly documented, that I fail to solve them. So please, fix the for me. The first has two links to Century Park station, the second one to Century Park station and one to Bay station. The Banner talk 15:56, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for catching that, it is fixed now. I should have tested the module more thoroughly before pushing it everywhere. Union Station
[edit]I had a hunch that Union Station's French name was "Gare Union," based on a picture of the departure board in the article. Well, my hunch was right, per Via Rail's official page. HangingCurveSwing for the fence 21:11, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- HangingCurve OK fair enough, Via uses "Gare (de) ..." for many stations on their French website . I guess I don't see the purpose of listing the French name on English Wikipedia. It makes sense for railway stations in Quebec whose native names are in French, or other bilingual topics but not really useful for Union Station in Toronto (in my opinion). Saburtalo Line
[edit]There is a hidden error at Saburtalo Line#Transfers which I'm hoping you can fix. It is due to {{rcr|Tbisili Metro|1}}
which gives 'template "Tbisili Metro color" does not exist'. I don't know what should happen to fix that. When fixed, the page will no longer be in the hidden Category:Pages with script errors. Johnuniq (talk) 03:37, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

2017 CFL season
[edit]Howdy. Would you please stop making the 2017 CFL season article different from all the other CFL season articles. Look them over & you'll notice they all have the 'league season' style infobox. GoodDay (talk) 03:08, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
Checking the article's history, I see that it was you who changed the infobox, in 2018. Why did you do it for only that one CFL season article? GoodDay (talk) 03:32, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
IF you want to promote the 'new' infobox, then you should be applying it to the 2019 CFL season article, which would be getting more views these days. GoodDay (talk) 03:34, 21 November 2019 (UTC)

Confederation/Trillium versus Line 1/Line 2
[edit]Hi Blaixx. I noticed you partially reverted my edits, as you prefer the names Trillium Line and Confederation Line. My understanding is that from late 2014 to September 2019, O-Train Line 2 was marketed as "O-Train Trillium Line" in advertising materials, text-to-speech bus announcements, etc. Since September 2019, however, the announcements use "O-Train Line 1" and "O-Train Line 2", or "Ligne 1" and "Ligne 2" in French. This is also true for station signage. While I would prefer numbers over full names, I will leave your changes intact for now, but due to Line 2's upcoming closure, I have changed "Confederation Line issues" to "O-Train issues". I plan to update the section accordingly. Please feel free to message me if you'd like to share your thoughts on this. --LABcrabs (talk) 20:53, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
- @LABcrabs: thanks for the ping! I changed it to Confederation and Trillium because those are the titles of the articles on Wikipedia and because they are the WP:COMMONNAMES of the lines. I think it is less confusing for the reader to consistently use the same set of names rather than switching back and forth. OC Transpo may prefer the line numbers but Wikipedia generally prefers names used by "independent, reliable English-language sources". Based on my research, news outlets always use the line name in article title and only sometimes mention the number in the body. BLAIXX 21:25, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

"Spelling?"
[edit]No, saying "other than" rather than "rather than" was just a brain fart. Thanks for fixing it. Guy Harris (talk) 05:53, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
Latin name of Queen's University
[edit]The source says the legend on the Seal of the Senate of Queen's University says: "SIGILLUM SENATUS UNIVERSITATIS REGINAE APUD REGIODUNUM". "Universitatis" is the genitive form of "universitas": https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/universitas#Latin. In other words, "Universitatis Reginae Apud Regiodunum" means "of Queen's University at Kingston", and the whole legend reads literally "Seal of [the] Senate of University of Queen [=Queen's University] at Kingston [=Regiodunum]". "Universitas" is the nominative form while "universitatis" is the genitive. D. Benjamin Miller (talk) 05:50, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
My Montreal Impact edits
[edit]So the reason why I was disambiguating those Montreal Impact links, even though they're WP:NOTBROKEN is because I've been going through the list at pages that link to Montreal Impact and about 35% of the links are broken and actually should go to the original Impact. I was using Montreal (2012-2020) since the other one is Montreal (1992-2011) and it easier and quicker since I just swap the dates, rather than switching back and forth with cf montreal. I know technically them staying at the base Montreal Impact is fine, I just find it easier to fix the incorrect impact ones by whittling down the entire list. Also, I figure that eventually down the line in a couple years, Montreal Impact will eventually become a disambiguation page, like Ottawa Fury, so I'd just be doing the work way too early.
- Thanks for the explanation. My preference would be to with bypass the redirect completely or to not change anything at all (unless Montreal Impact does turn into a dab page) but I won't stand in your way. BLAIXX 19:28, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Moving rows in standings templates
[edit]Why is alphabetical order preferred in Template:2020–21 NHL North Division standings when it's easier to select an entire row and drag it? Tampabay721 (talk) 04:02, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Tampabay721: When using team_order, it's easier to compare diffs because the rows don't move. Mostly it's a personal preference of mine. Since you're a frequent editor of the NHL standings templates, feel free to change it back. Thanks, BLAIXX 15:13, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
Discussion Regarding the CPL Draft years naming procedure
[edit]Hey Blaixx, I saw your edit regarding naming Either having it named by the season Season: 2019, 2020, 2021" or the "Draft: 2018, 2019, 2021. I definitely see what you mean by that and having it go 2019, 2020, 2021 makes it look uniform and does match up with the following season it doesn't look 'right' in the sense when I compare the draft pages of the MLS draft it has the year it was held as that draft's 'Draft Year' (seen here in the SuperDraft wiki https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/MLS_SuperDraft).
I think having it as the following season as well potentially misleads, as there wasn't technically a 2020 CPL-U Sports Draft that year.
Would like your thoughts on it, maybe I'm just looking at the situation differently. Excuse any errors if this is in the wrong spot or anything I'm still relatively a novice when it comes to more extensive editing aside from the Minor Edits on pages.
Thanks.

- @Doucet3: Thanks for creating this discussion. Here or at Talk:CPL–U Sports Draft are both good places for this discussion. I think you've summarized thing well. On one hand, it looks weird to have a gap in 2020 when in fact the draft has been held every year but on the other it would be weird for the link text to be different than the page title (e.g. 2019). There's no right way to do this but one idea would be to create another column so we can link to both the draft (with the proper year) and the season that the draft applies to (example below). My other preference would be to list the drafts 2018, 2019, 2021. What are your thoughts? BLAIXX 23:33, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
