Redlinked categories
Hello Bearcat! Thank you for correcting my edit to the article on Rikke Skov. It makes perfect sense that redlinked categories are not allowed. However, when I made the edit, I did not see any warning that the category I had picked was redlinked. Is there any way to tell that during editing? Sincerely, Nikolaj1905 (talk) 12:55, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
User Report
A user called Binksternet has been vandalizing music templates. What's worse, they've been believing the words of RockabillyRaccoon, who was a sockpuppet. I believe that the only way that this would be possible is if Binksternet themselves was a sockpuppet! Could you do something about this? 128.92.166.75 (talk) 18:51, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
Need urgent Admin intervention
Hi, I've encountered an issue with another Wikipedia user regarding my recent edits to the page 'List of highest-grossing Malayalam films.' The dispute unfolded on my talk page. Initially, I added a proper reference with a slight delay, and the user expressed dissatisfaction. Today, when I added multiple references, one was deemed unreliable without my awareness, despite the other reference being reliable and previously used by the user. The matter has been reported to the administrator's noticeboard for incidents. I believe no mistake occurred on my part. Can you please intervene and help find a resolution?

editing help with Wikipedia page revisions: Amada Cruz
Hi Bearcat, I am new to the wiki-editing world and am looking for guidance in some page cleanup for Amada Cruz. I am looking into bias/credibility of some of the listed information on this page, and adding in new information that is from recent press about this individual. I am wondering if you would be able to help me with navigating a successful edit for sections of this page. Thank you in advance! Cratedcube82 (talk) 22:04, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

missing cat
https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Sasha_Chanoff&diff=next&oldid=1204937908 I simply forgot to create the missing cat. It would have been constructive if You had done just that. Manorainjan 22:03, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

Vandalism on "The Wiki Way"
I chanced across this page and noticed in the edit history that you had removed an invalid category redlink, but not done anything about subtle vandalism (altering a name). I assume the latter was an oversight, but one might have hoped for you to notice that the "invalid" redlink was invalid because it was also part of the vandalism; the name of a legitimate company (for which a category indeed exists) was altered.
I have fixed the problem by rolling back to the last edit before the vandalism started (someone else had made repeated attempts to revert changes from the same troll IP). Please be more attentive in the future.

Hello bearcat, I hope you don't mind but I quoted you on an AFD regarding the use of local sources since you perfectly summed things up at AFD for Manny Cid. Patapsco913 (talk) 02:35, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
Undeletion of Canadian Climate Institute
Hi Bearcat - I’m hoping to un-delete the Canadian Climate Institute page you nominated earlier. That page has been ‘soft-deleted’. My understanding of the process for this is that I should first discuss it with you and provide further rationale for keeping it. Let me know if this is the right spot for that and I can provide more info to address the concerns you listed in the nomination for deletion page. Since the nomination, I added more secondary sources for each claim of fact in the wiki article to address concerns around notability. While I can’t currently view the previous article text for the Canadian Climate Institute entry, there should be around 20-25 additional sources in the article now covering a wide range of topics and major policies related to the subject. These included multiple reports from major media (via the Canadian Press, Globe and Mail, CBC, and others) where the sole or primary focus of the story is the institute’s research on a given topic. In addition, I added three citations in peer reviewed academic journals, and multiple references to citations in major reports from independent officers of parliament (Parliamentary Budget Officer, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development), as well as policy documents and regulations from federal departments, agencies and councils. I also edited language throughout the article and removed a paragraph that didn’t have sufficient citations to address claims of bias in the descriptions. I’ve also updated my conflict of interest declaration on my user page to connect it to that page. AndrewJPatrick (talk) 15:48, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

Redirecting categories
Hi, thanks for processing all the moves from Category:Barney & Friends character redirects to lists to Category:Barney (franchise) character redirects to lists and Category:Barney & Friends episode redirects to lists to Category:Barney (franchise) episode redirects to lists.
If you think it's best to edit every member page with the new name, that's fine. However, if you would prefer to bypass such labours in future, please note that the redirect templates can resolve category redirects. That is to say, all we need to do in such cases is to leave a category redirect at the old category name, and all the member redirects will be recategorised automagically. It's best to tag the cat-redirect with {{R from template-generated category}} to avoid inadvertent deletion. – Fayenatic London 14:04, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

Category:Murderers for life insurance money
@Bearcat, I’d like to know where I could find a list of the articles previously in this category for other purposes on Wikipedia and various Fandom wikis. May you help me with which users or bots were responsible for removing the category name from every article? ContributingHelperOnTheSide (talk) 22:23, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Bearcat, thank you for replying, but you misunderstood my meaning. I was simply hoping to find that list of pages that were categorized, nothing more or less. There are fiction shows that are inspired by real crimes, so I’ve been hoping to expand the wikis for the shows with the information in the articles if they’re confirmed to be related. Someone else told me instructions in how to access the category’s history, but I maybe messed up or their option didn’t work. Thanks for directing me to where I need to go, I’ll see if someone knows what I can do. ContributingHelperOnTheSide (talk) 05:11, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

John Tran
Hi, would you vote to delete John Tran if you saw it in an AfD? I ask only because the WP:BEFORE checks I am able to perform with my software aren't always great and so I don't want to make another flawed nomination as I might have at Paul Richards (politician). Romesh Wadhwani page
I noticed the page for Romesh Wadhwani looks like it's out of date according to recent reports from CNBC, TIME, Forbes, and elsewhere. His LinkedIn profile shows him to be head of SAIGroup - https://www.linkedin.com/in/romesh-wadhwani/ Would it be okay to go in there and make some edits, or are there others I should check in with?
