Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, BMarGlines. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page WRNN-TV, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Do you work for RNN? Mvcg66b3r (talk) 15:05, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
24.24.160.182 made fake affiliates!
[edit]Say KWHY and KSBO are CW affiliates, that's false! If KVMM is MNT, it HAS to be dual MNT/Estrella TV. KZDF as CBS affiliate is always false. These edits made by 24.24.160.182 are just like WSTR-TV being a Dabl affiliate or KNBX as MNT affiliate. This IP address was banned for 3 months, after more vandalism, INDEFINITELY!!! Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:KWHB are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. Hey!
[edit]I saw you added Category:Candidates for deletion to two articles. This is not something you should do – the articles are automatically added to a hidden category at Category:Articles for deletion, while for other methods, there's a category for PRODs at Category:Proposed deletion, and one for CSDs at Category:Candidates for speedy deletion. The categories you're adding are redundant and don't help anyone, so you should stop adding them to articles that are currently deletion candidates. The CW station logos
[edit]I've seen you've done some CW logos on here, so can you do the new CW station logos (from Logopedia) for WFNA, WVFX-DT2, WCBD-DT2, WLAJ-DT2, WWLP-DT2, WEEK-DT3, WMDT-DT2, WFMJ-DT2 (with a better image or SVG image), KTKA-DT3, and WWTI-DT2. There are some others, but there not in SVG, but in PNG. OWaunTon (talk) 02:49, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- That also includes KCWT, WNAC, and WBDT BMarGlines (talk) 00:44, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- KCWT, yes, but WNAC and WBDT has a SVG on Logopedia. OWaunTon (talk) 01:45, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
I reverted the change. I'm not convinced of the need for three logos to be crammed in the infobox. We do support two natively, but I'd rather have one logo with all the network affiliations when it exists. It's cleaner and less redundant. I also am unsure if some of these straggling affiliates are even using local versions of the new logo (which is why I reverted you at KASN). Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:55, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
Gray CBS affiliates
[edit]I reverted your changes at KPHO and WVLT because it doesn't seem they've changed their logos or branding. That has certainly not been the case here in Phoenix. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 18:52, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Gray is removing CBS eyes from multiple Gray-owned CBS affiliates. BMarGlines (talk) 18:54, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Multiple does not mean "all". While Gray has indicated a desire to move away from network branding, so far this has only been done the most thoroughly at its NBC affiliates. Most of the CBS affiliates that have dropped the eye, as best I can tell, are those that have either undergone more thorough relaunches (particularly WANF, and to a lesser extent KMOV) or are also associated in some way with their market's NBC affiliation. - @DMA180guy: now says some of BMarGlines' logo uploads are fake. I nominated those files for deletion over on Commons. Maybe you should look into BMarGlines' behavior. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 12:10, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

Logo quality doesn't mean anything if it isn't the right logo, and there isn't a place where WVLT has banished the CBS eye. Do your homework before trying that again. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 16:19, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate images to Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism. Please see the image use policy for appropriate use of images in Wikipedia. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Please do not change logos of CW stations without a reference/link to a reliable source showing the actual usage of the new logo. For instance, this could be either an article in a reliable source discussing the logo change, or a direct link to the new logo itself in use on an official account. It appears in many cases, the logos that you've been substituting were homemade copies made by a user who was not in compliance without licensing policy; these do not appear to be the actual official CW station logos and to be honest, quite a few of these changes look like vandalism given that the real logo is clearly in use on the websites for the stations you are linking. ⇒SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 23:18, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- But, KOMU-DT3 already rebranded, the proof is the station ID on YouTube! BMarGlines (talk) 00:44, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, no. Youtube videos, especially those uploaded that are not from the official account of the station, are typically considered unreliable sources here. Furthermore, one would expect to find a rebrand on the actual station website, where you can clearly see that no such thing has occurred. Moreover, as you can see on the CW TV website as seen here, the original logo is still in use.⇒SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 03:03, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

You were repeatedly warned to stop uploading fan-made logos as replacements for official ones, and to cite reliable sources for your changes. You have continued to fail to do so, and have shown you do not understand and are unwilling to understand or abide by Wikipedia's policies. Frankly, it's no wonder why you've been banned by these Fandom wikis if you were exhibiting the same behavior there. Your block duration is for 1 week. When you return, I want to be very clear with you -- I expect you to read, understand, and follow the reliable sourcing guidelines and our policies on verifiability and no original research. I also expect you to refrain from editing logos of TV stations as you've clearly demonstrated that you cannot be trusted to do so in accordance with policy. Given the extensive discussion we've had on this already, if you violate these policies again when your block expires, the next one will be indefinite without further warning. ⇒SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 13:42, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
