Hello, I'm Abelmoschus Esculentus. I noticed that in this edit to Chief Minister (India), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 13:04, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Information icon Hello, I'm Smjg. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Deputy Chief Minister (India). Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. — Smjg (talk) 13:39, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Lok Sabha a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Stop redirecting and copying without consensus

[edit]

The Jammu and Kashmir articles are governed by Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee. Such massive changes are discussed first at the article talk pages or Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics. So please do not make such redirect without a consensus: [1], [2], [3], [4]. Further, you cannot just copy-paste content further without attributing as that comprises article history, given WP:COPYWITHIN. Tamravidhir (talk) 08:54, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • It appears to be a test page. (See section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Notice

The article Basavaraj Horatti has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. [edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied text from Vedic Sanskrit to Vedic Sanskrit grammar (your addition has since been removed). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. If you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:38, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Anish M. Nagpal. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "A Knack to Know an Honest Man".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 10:53, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Punjab Legislative Council, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:31, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Upapurana, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Garga Samhita and Harivamsha Purana (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Your attempted DYK nomination of List of Hindu texts

[edit]

Anish M. Nagpal, thank you for your interest in DYK. I'm afraid that List of Hindu texts does not qualify for DYK due to a number of reasons. First, the article is not new within the past seven days, nor is it newly expanded in that time—the work you did on the article was on May 18, nineteen days prior. That's far too long ago. Second, the article does not achieve the minimum of 1500 prose characters required by all DYK articles—it's only 1045 prose characters. (List sections do not count, only the prose, which here is the top three paragraphs.) Third, since this was not a new article, it would need to be expanded fivefold. In this case, before your edits, the article had 1654 prose characters, so it would need to have expanded to 8270 prose characters, not ended up with fewer characters.

There is information about how the DYK process works and the expectations at WP:DYK, including how to nominate an article, which involves creating a nomination template and transcluding it on the Nominations page. What you did, by adding a new section to the bottom of our Approved page, didn't work at all, and I had to remove the section from that page—you should never need to edit the Approved page.
