Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

From Nileshukey
Hi, I edited IIT Roorkee history section cause if you see the information I deleted, is the history of each of the departments, not the history of the institute itself. If you see the other IIT colleges IITB , IITD, IITK, etc the history section is the history of the institute, no the history of the individual departments, the history of the departments should go under specific departments in separate headers as IITD has. Under separate headers other informations about the departments can also come... I am planing to add the history info of individual departments as separate headers. Dont you think its a structured and organized way to layout information?? Any ways I am new to wiki community so please guide me. Thanks

- Thanks for replying to my message on your talk page. Of course you can be bold and make the desired changes. But do leave an edit summary, and leave a note on the article's talk page, as you have done here. (for eg. at here, by creating a new section and describing the changes you have made.) Large scale removal of info without any accompanying edit summary and a reason on the article's talk page can be easily mis-judged by others as vandalism. Feel free to post here for any more help/clarification :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 17:05, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
DYK for USHUS (sonar)
On 17 June 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article USHUS (sonar), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the team developing the USHUS sonar was awarded the Agni Award for self-reliance by the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in May 2007? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/USHUS (sonar). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

IIT
Hi Anir1uph, I am extremely sorry that I didn't mention that why I removed IIT Palakkad at edit summary. in future I will do the same. I removed it because every now and then one or the other politician claims that he will get an IIT in his constituency. I think we should not post such things at the main page as in no way they are going to be IIT. I have a same example where a MP from Jamshedpur gave statement for an upcoming IIT at East -Singhbhum Jharkhand. Regarding ISM Dhanbad,I have posted the details just because any one who will browses this page will come to know the status of ISM Dhanbad to IIT. As the result of JEE_Advanced exam is going to be out in one day, many students will want to know about the current status of ISM Dhanbad. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smishr (talk • contribs) 09:47, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Can you retrieve the latitude longitudes
I need the lat long of three areas:
- Nadimarg in Pulwama District for 2003 Nadimarg Massacre
- Sangrampora village of Budgam district for 1997 Sangrampora massacre
- Wandhama in Jammu and Kashmir for 1998 Wandhama massacre
Can you make out the maps. Thanks in advance. The Legend of Zorro 22:52, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- You can see the code at here. You can either use the same India map, or use the map of J&K from File:India Jammu and Kashmir location map.svg.
- Nadimarg - could not locate - its a village! But the general coordinates and location map of Pulwama district is at its page. Same for Budgam district. Wandhama's location can be found here. (This is the cited ref at 1998 Wandhama massacre). Instead of the location map, you can directly use the images at the district pages for the first two articles. I hope i could be helpful. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 23:23, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm already User:Darkness Shines has posted two maps on my talk page here. Since the places are too near is there any way to avoid confusion among the places other than extending column length. The Legend of Zorro 23:29, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- I thought you were going to use them in separate articles? Darkness Shines (talk) 23:32, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- Primarily thought to use here. But you are right separate article makes more sense. The Legend of Zorro 23:33, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- If you want them in the same map, then use the coordinates with the image at File:India Jammu and Kashmir location map.svg. I guess, for the map to be correct, we would need more accurate coordinates. But still, it would work fine with these coordinates too. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 23:39, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- I would call that article Ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits, and start sourcing from SATP. Darkness Shines (talk) 23:40, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
