Congratulations, Anir1uph! You're receiving this barnstar because you recently crossed the 5,000 classification threshold using STiki. We thank you both for your contributions to Wikipedia at-large and your use of the tool. We hope you continue your ascent up the leaderboard and stay in touch at the talk page. - Hey! ... and now a reviewer. Well done! Been looking at your User page, Anirvan. It looks great.
- Thanks for informing me! I got to know about it first from you :D Also, see this here. I copied this some time back, hope u do not mind :) Anir1uph (talk) 21:27, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Of course I don't ... you are very welcome, and I feel honoured that you wanted it. I would have replied to you earlier, but I had been without my computer since 16:00 hrs., yesterday. I managed to fix it myself by mid-morning today – it is now running better than it ever has – not bad for an old guy who came to PCs late in life!
- Then "other life" has got in the way all the rest of today until quite recently!
- I like your idea of having the 'special' page you linked me to, in the manner that you have created it. Is there an article somewhere explaining how to do that? Would you call it a 're-direct'?
- All the best to you, -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 17:30, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
I love fixing computers too, but only when the software has gone bad (i am self-trained, not a professional tho). I do indulge in computer hardware, but have never fixed/repaired a hardware problem and leave it to more experienced friends or professionals. :) As for the sub-page, you can see more about it here: WP:USERSUBPAGE and WP:SUB.
I do not know about a page detailing how to create a subpage step by step, but here is a simple way i use myself (it will always work): On your internet browser address bar, paste this: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Gareth_Griffith-Jones/subpagename. Replace subpagename with any word you want to name the page as. Press enter.
That is all. From now on, u'd be in familiar territory, just like the first time you created your user page or any article, and you can put anything you want in it (read the policy page for stuff that you can't put on your subpage). You can create as many subpages of your user page as you like, just keep changing the page names. You can blank a subpage you have created. But to delete a subpage, you need to request an administrator, by placing a deletion tag on the page. To access all your subpages from a single place, use this link: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:PrefixIndex/User:Gareth_Griffith-Jones/. I see that you already have many subpages. :)
If you want any more help from me on this, I'd love to help! Btw, i am not sure Anir1uph (talk) 18:42, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, that's great – very helpful.
- Thank you.
- I may well call you in on that offer. I am sure that you are "
i am not" sure. - My aging PC died on me and I had to resort to biting the bullet, wiping the whole lot off and reloading Microsoft Windows XP – had bought the up-grade a few years ago when I moved up from ' 95 – bought the PC early 2000.
- Btw, I noticed today that if one puts a semi-colon at the start of a line, it emboldens the following text. -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 20:48, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, i left that in mid-sentence. I meant to say that I am not sure about the thing you asked about re-directs. XP, specially the service pack 3, works fine most of the time. And 12 years is an extremely long time for any computer. Congratulations for keeping it in running condition! My first PC is a Compaq from 2001, and i too have managed to keep it running :) Anir1uph (talk) 21:01, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Add Wiki Perennial Policy page to Perennial disambiguation
Hello, see http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Perennial_%28disambiguation%29&action=history I wanted to add this section to this page regarding Perennial ambiguation. I tried adding it but it was reverted. I just wanted to know why. I used the same logic as the sandbox page where they had a link refferring to the wiki sandbox page, as seen on this page. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Sandbox
I thought this perennial page was a good page and should be easier to find.
What i wanted to add to the page the following
- For the Wikipedia page, where frequently brought up Wikipedia Policy topics/idea's that have been proposed and rejected by previous consensus, with reasons for rejection. See Wikipedia:Perennial proposals
Please notify me on my talk page regarding any activity, on my comments. I am not able to have a watch list for any other page then my own main talk page. I need a notice on my main talk page to be made aware of any new messages to me. Thanks
Instructions to send a notification to my talk page is as follows:
|
- Yep, but as you can see on Sandbox, it is used as a warning for inexperienced users, who might start editing the page thinking it is the wikipedia sandbox. The wikipedia sandbox link is not part of the article text. Internal wikipedia policies are in the Wikipedia space, not in the article space. What you added to Perennial (disambiguation) is a link to a wikipedia policy page, for your convenience or other reasons, but that link is not notable on an article page. Thanks! Anir1uph (talk) 03:58, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Now, if you want to add the notification example to the top of Perennial (disambiguation), i would have no problems with it, as it seems genuine. But as i have no experience with such matters, you have two options: either you can be bold and add that template to the page and see if anyone else objects to it (i will not), or you could start a discussion on the article's talk page about the addition. Thanks!
- Also, why don't you create a wikipedia a/c? Your editing experience will become much smoother. Just a suggestion. :) Anir1uph (talk) 04:04, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- I will move link location to right spot Your right, i think i put it technically in the wrong area. I will insert it in the right area of the page as the wiki sandbox link is on the sandbox page.
- My permission for you to edit and move link on page Since i am a newer user to wiki, if you want you may edit my comments and put it on the part of the page you thinks best. I just wanted that link with that link title on this page.
- If you do change my edit in any way, please notify me. thanks
- Linked page is good example of perennialIn my opinion, I just really liked that page i have a link for, and i think its such a good example of what perennial is. I never heard of that word before until i saw that page.
- Your a/c questionAs far as your a/c question, i think you mean a user account instead of an ip account. If you want i can answer but it would take a few paragraphs. Feel free to ask again, if your curious. I just wanted to be sure your really interested in my answer instead of just making a implied suggestion, before, i give you my longer answer. Thanks
Please notify me on my talk page regarding any activity, on my comments. I am not able to have a watch list for any other page then my own main talk page. I need a notice on my main talk page to be made aware of any new messages to me. Thanks

- Thanks! Also, i have read your reasons on your talk page for not creating an a/c. But, in my opinion, all the extra stuff you have to do to maintain your edtis as an ip editor would not be needed. It is really a simpler way. Also, with the option to be signed in to your a/c for 180 days, you do not have to log in every time (i myself use this feature). Also, it will make carrying out long discussions on a topic, and collaborating with other users on an article easier for you. And finally, some editors may object to the way you are using the page User talk:67.160.137.69 (i do not, but it does make correspondence a little confusing.) Good luck! Anir1uph (talk) 05:24, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- I just submitted my edit to the Perennial page.
- Brief explanation of my talk page system.I am still trying to make a good talk page system, and when i get a chance I want to add more to my topics on the page (such as ip vs a/c). What i am afraid of on talk pages is getting alot of traffic from others and not keeping the topics sorted, so previous discussions that get archived, dont get recycled in newer discussion. I want a way for others to find out previous debates, and see them before me having to repeat the entire debate on whatever topic. Thats just a short explanation. When i get a chance i would like to add more to my talk page regarding this matter. Thanks for your input.
Please notify me on my talk page regarding any activity, on my comments. I am not able to have a watch list for any other page then my own main talk page. I need a notice on my main talk page to be made aware of any new messages to me. Thanks

Exactly! that is why having an account, with a personal talk page is much better. That way, you can create archives of all past discussions, automatically! Your note
Hi Anir1uph! You are free to recommend Twinkle to any editor you wish. :) I only said what I said because I have this long-standing view that it's pointless to decline someone's rollback request and tell them to practice with Twinkle (a powerful tool) to obtain the rollback feature (a far lesser tool by comparison). In all fairness, while rollback gives access to Huggle (more powerful than Twinkle), I still think that people should initially practice with the simple undo tool first rather than with the "big" tools. I hope that makes sense. Best. Acalamari 22:23, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Issue: Ordnance Factories' links reverted
Hello, I created links to the Ordnance Factories each of which functions as a separate entity in terms of management, products, demographics. The links were provided so that in future, someone who knows the factory, been there, lived there or worked can make the page of the concerned factory and others would later contribute in adding or modifying the article. Each of the factory is worthy of a dedicated article. I'd like to request to rollback the changes you've made. Thanking you in anticipation.
Warm regards, Vivek Mishra.
- Dear Vivek,
- I reverted your edits due to 2 reasons:
- please refer to Wikipedia:Redlinks within reason, Bluelinks within context, as a guidance page. The sheer amount of red links you have created makes the page 'ugly'. It is not recommended to insert so many red links, or red links at all, unless you are willing to create the article yourself, or the topic is notable.
- This is a problem, as there is not sufficient referenced sources on each of those labs to warrant an article for each of them. Remember, on wikipedia, a reason for having an article has less to do with how much material we can add on that subject (for example our primary school), it depends more on how many reliable references that topic has, and those sources should be secondary sources, to determine its notability, specially for organizations and companies. Unless a topic is covered in such sources, the article, upon creation is most likely to be speedily deleted.
- I hope i have answered your question about why i have removed the red links. If you think you have such reliable sources, sufficient to create individual articles, please do share them with me, and i would assist you in all my capacity to add them to wikipedia, and restore links to the Ordnance Factories page.
- Regards,
- Anir1uph (talk) 15:35, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Dear Anirvan,
- Thanks for your inputs. As I'm new to Wikipedia, I'm not aware of most of the policies and procedures. I've tried to improve the main article by adding some data which is on the internet and cited with some reliable third-party references. I was looking for someone who's well versed with Wikipedia so that he can have a look on the article and judge whether the article is of neutral nature or not. So, can you have a look on the article? Also, the individual article of each of the factory is a major issue. Maybe, you can help with that too. Thanks for your response.
- Warms Regards, --VivekMishra2010 (talk) 16:08, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
- Firstly i am happy that you have decided to create an account here :) We all start like this. The first of my edits were very close to your first edits, and were politely reverted. We all keep learning and i claim to know moderately well about wikipedia policies. That should not discourage you at all, as we (i see you have met USer:Strike Eagle) will provide as much help as possible.
- Now coming back to your edits on the article, the section that you have added, Ordnance_Factories_Board#Controversies is not referenced and could be removed by any editor. I'l leave a message on your talk page about how to reference your contributions. If you are unsure, then post the reference link here on my talk page, and i will add it to the passage, and you can learn from it. Thanks! Anir1uph (talk) 16:25, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Anirvan,
- I've provided reliable references to both the articles Ordnance Factories Board and Jabalpur Engineering College. I'm waiting for your perusal. Also, there's a MAJOR work required in the Indian Engineering Services article which lacks most of the vital information and the Wiki article shows up as the first result in the search engine's results. So I believe that it should be up to the mark as most of the viewers of this article are aspirants of the examination and there's no other article on the internet which provides a comprehensive information about the exam (which I believe is the most sought after exam after IAS) or the services.
- Regards,
- Vivek Mishra.
- Hi,
- I believe that the image was better when it was out of the infobox as infobox is supposed to contain a logo and the format also looked neat previously. Now it looks a bit cluttered.
- Thanks.
Input related to Jabalpur Engineering College
The infobox is designed to look like this, on this page: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. But i agree with you, the previous version looked better. On a whole the page seems fine, though keep a lookout for more references you can add. Increase inline citations. As i have not gone through the references in detail, (only checked them for reliability), please ensure copy right violations (like simply copying and pasting from a web site, are not present. If they are, re-word/re-write the sentences in your own words, for e.g: as if you are reporting on the referenced article. Dont worry about initial language problems (if there are any), you'd only get better at this. Also, i'd urge you to edit while logged in to your wikipedia a/c, as that makes keeping track of your edits, and discussion much simpler, both for you and other editors. Will go through the other two pages, and discuss with you below this when i do. Thanks! Anir1uph | talk | contrib 19:58, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- Please do have a look at Jabalpur Engineering College, I've formatted it and added the logo.

Input related to Ordnance Factories Board
The citations are fine. Try adding more references to the sections: "History", "Infrastructure and leadership", "Products" and "Quality", as there aren't any in them. Also see: referencing style. (notice how i have modified your references). Regards, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 23:46, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
- Please format the Ordnance Factories Board's Hierarchy table's last two cells. They need to have two separators each and the contents of the OFB's infobox are not displayed.

- Done for table. FOr info on table syntax, you can go to Help:Table. It is a slightly technical page, so unless you have had some prior coding experience, it might take some time to adjust. Do use your user sandbox, and show preview options to test edits made on tables, or you could end up seriously messing up the page, and might invite wrath from other page-watchers :D. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 08:31, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- This infobox used in the page is a special template called "Infobox government agency". It has fixed fields, which you can see at Template:Infobox government agency. Unless the info you add belongs to one of those fields, it will not be displayed, and is likely to be deleted by any user (as waste of space or un-constructive). Note: Do not edit the template page before achieving consensus on its talk page. That template would be widely used in many article. Accidental damage to it will again invite warning on your talk page by angry editors :D Cheers! Anir1uph | talk | contrib 08:31, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, the article had no infobox :D and I just copied it from DRDO's article due my naivety, I know my bad. :D So, I guess the contents and fields can be modified accordingly. What's bothering me most is the visibility of the article. There are articles which mention OFB but don't have links to it and seems like OFB is not getting its due credit and respect for serving the nation while DRDO and others walk away with most of the praise. Also, the Indian Engineering Service has several issues that should be rectified ASAP as it has a daily traffic of over 1000. Please guide on that. Thanks a lot for the table. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.200.147.187 (talk) 09:53, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- The wikilink to OFB can be added where ever it is mentioned. Take care not to add more than wikilinks to OFB in the same article. And unless extremely relevant, please do not add it to "See also" of the page.
- Regarding Indian Engineering Service, i do not have much time now these days, but if you can point out specific issue on the page, i can look into it. I really don't know much about the topic. Regards, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 16:15, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi Anirvan,
- Since OFB exports its products to more than 30 countries in 5 different continents, its served area should be Worldwide having India, its primary user.

Vehicle Factory Jabalpur
Hi, tried to create a page Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, but not sure whether its created or not maybe needs to be reviewed prior creation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VivekMishra2010 (talk • contribs) 18:58, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- You had created the page at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, which is not the right place to do so. I have moved it here: User:VivekMishra2010/VFJ. Edit it here, add refs, improve language and layout. Then submit it to "Article for creation", since it is your first article. More on that later. First, try to improve this one. Oh no, no! I just found those fields empty, and decided to welcome the new users (maybe DBigXray was having a lazy day :P) You can do that too :) Thanks, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 09:17, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)I think we can atleast welcome new users....leave people who crossed 5k or 10k or xk edits TheStrikeΣagle 09:22, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Thєíríshwαrdєn is a very new editor who has unfortunately hit troubles right from his start. I hope he does not lose interest here. :) Regards, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 10:36, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- @Anir: And some editors here are trying there best that he loses interest as they hold the view that "He has no place here".--DBigXray 10:39, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- @Gareth will you please stop discussing TheIrishWarden with others? this case and your involvement in that is not being appreciated by those who know about it. please Wikipedia:Comment on content, not on the contributor. Hope this is sufficient nod--DBigXray 10:37, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
@Gareth- Unfortunately, if this edit was a pun, I never laughed. TheStrikeΣagle 10:46, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, Anir. I hope so too. The only reason that I directed you to that section on my page was not to discuss it, but I thought that you might like to see that he and I had formed a good relationship. If you read from the top you will see that having asked me for assistance, I gave it freely and fully. The perpetrator of the unpleasantness has been blocked and we are all thankful for that. He has worked towards patching things up with me and the other editor (who knew him for a longer time) and I, for one, shall continue to support him in any way that is available to me.
- @ User:Strike Eagle No, no pun. Please read it again! Nothing there to laugh about. Let us clear the air: I will e-mail you.

- I am certain that you and I will. You have not replied to my coffee question ... and do you prefer Anir or Anirvan? All the best, Gareth
I like my coffee strong. sometimes very strong, without sugar. But on a very hot day (as is north India these days) i prefer coffee in sweet and chilled milk. As for my name, well i have no problems with either. My closest friends call me both anir and anirvan. Some even use the 'gangsta' version von. hahaha! :D You prefer Gareth? or something else? Anir1uph | talk | contrib 12:10, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- So you and I would enjoy each others coffee, just so long as you never try to put any milk in mine. You will have to explain, "the 'gangsta', and von" to me.
- Always Gareth. Don't like it shortened ever! -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 12:34, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- No milk. Got it! :D See Gangsta. In my case, its like a humorous cultural thing, to shorten my name from Anirvan to Von. Also, like Shane Warne, with a slight twist to the pronunciation. haha. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 12:41, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Ha ha! That's good. I like it. Well it is just after two o'clock here, and I am being called to my lunch. Are you 4 or 5 hours ahead? Best regards, Gareth
- -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 13:06, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- I am 5.5 hours ahead, at Indian Standard Time. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 13:15, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for that link. I had always imagined that India would have three time zones. We have the hour change twice a year which seems to be detested by all. So, in winter you would be 4.5 hours ahead of us. Cheers! -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 14:08, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Special:ArticleFeedbackv5/Yellow_jacket/197065
Hi, I was reviewing recently hidden feedback, and noticed Special:ArticleFeedbackv5/Yellow_jacket/197065. I'm not sure how that is abusive enough to justify hiding. While we are unlikely to give advice on how to kill insects, its not unreasonable for someone to leave feedback expressing interest in the subject. Is there something I'm missing in regards to it? Monty845 03:34, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Re: Using wrong summaries
Those edits made by that user were correctly identified as vandalism. That user is one of the most recent (now blocked) sockpuppets of User:Chanakyathegreat. Just to bring to your attention, that this edit I identified as vandalism is a copy and paste of what he uses to vandalize articles such as this and other UK related articles. I may be wrong, but I think identifying edits from a persistent sockpuppeteer as vandalism isn't fundamentally wrong. I have had dealings with this master sockpuppeteer for almost 2 years, can spot him a mile off.TalkWoe90i 17:29, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- All it seems here is that certain changes were made and references added and you reverted them marking them as vandalism. Those edits are definitely not vandalism. Please read WP:NOT VANDALISM. And if you think it is a sockpuppet, then open an WP:SPI, as the additions do not constitute disruption. Regards, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 17:35, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Chanakyathegreat I and others report all of Chanakya's socks here. They get blocked pretty swiftly. Chanakya's socks usually run in packs so they'll probably request a CU to catch any sleepers. If you visit the archive you'll see just how many there are! TalkWoe90i 17:48, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- Sure sure. I was not aware of that. I was only commenting on the edit summaries marked as vandalism. Perhaps a summary like "rv edits by sockpuppet/blocked souckpuppet" to help other editors like me who would not understand why a referenced addition to an article was marked as vandalism? Thanks for your clarification :D Anir1uph | talk | contrib 17:53, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- Agree with Anir, the edit should say, "reverting Sock of XYZ", although the policy cays such edits by socks are undesireable it is not correct to call it vandalism, as they are not vandalism and it only leads to confusion among other editors. as we see above, cheers--DBigXray 21:14, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Three revert rule
I appreciate your support on the reversion war for India and weapons of mass destruction, but you should be aware of the three revert rule, which you recently violated. You can be temporarily barred from editing as a result. I think the solution here is either dispute resolution (though there is no discussion) or semi-protection (to the IP editors have not exactly engaged in vandalism). NPguy (talk) 22:38, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- I think disruptive editing should be reverted as soon as seen, but i should have been more careful about it, though i didnt make more than 3 reverts. Thanks! I will request page protection. Regards, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 22:48, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)Anir has made 3 reverts so far, so he has not violated the 3rr which says "more than 3 reverts" while the IP user (on 2 IPs) has already made 4 reverts and can be blocked. NP is correct by the way, there is no point in this revert war. Also this is the first time I am seeing that the editors are warring over the commented out text, wierd enough.--DBigXray 22:51, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- haha! Btw, it is not just the hidden comment, it is also the field entry. Consensus is that Agni II be used in the field, as there are no refs that say that Agni III has been deployed by the Indian Army/SFC. But sources only say that Agni III has been inducted and now under production. It is not clear how a missile which is under production be deployed too. Perhaps and compromise? Sadly, the IPs (i am guessing the same person with changing IPs) is not willing to use the talk page, or discuss the issue. Can you suggest a new solution? Anir1uph | talk | contrib 22:57, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- I already requested semi-protection. NPguy (talk) 23:01, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- Agree Leaving a hand written message with the link to the article page on the IPs talk page is the first thing that should be done, if the IP does not reply then a semiprotection is the only way to bring people to talkpage.--DBigXray 10:43, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
