Fractional Work
Hi Woof, thank you for your feedback and although I read many instruction pages on how to create a Wikipedia page that adds value, I feel like I failed at it. This is my first page and I have taken your feedback into account and updated the page. For example - I included information to your point about the difference between part-time and contractor work. I also adjusted the wording and how the entire article was written. Thanks again for your feedback and my apologies if I make any mistakes. Factwanderer (talk) 08:48, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Factwanderer, please fix up the center portion as it reads like an essay and coming from a textbook or article, especially with the bullet list of underlined terms that suggest it was copy-pasted from somewhere. It should not have sections like "Conclusion". See the related articles for part-time work and see how the terms are formatted. It should also have a history section on who coined it. How can I review the submitted drafts ?
I want to review the submitted drafts on Wikipedia so that I can help to accept or decline the submissions based on the guidelines and policy. How can I do that? Aniprk007 (talk) 12:38, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Aniprk007, you can see some crtieria for members at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation, but I wouldn't worry about that until you have gotten the drafts and articles you currently have submitted to meet notability, and proven yourself and others to know what you are doing. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 19:21, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
Brunswick String Quartet
Thank you for reviewing my BSQ entry, Angus. I appreciate the effort you put into ensuring wikipedia content is accurate. Yes, I am Joseph Pach's daughter. I verified the details of the Brunswick String Quartet directly with it's founder, my father, Joseph Pach. I'm not sure how I could get a more valid reference. There is nothing I care to promote as the BSQ disolved in 1989 and no longer exists. I will leave this comment with you and then navigate to your notes on how to enter valid references. Thank you, Laurie Pach LLPach (talk) 01:48, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- LLPach, suggest you check out WP:MUSICBIO and see if they meet the criteria there. As for references, need external news articles that cover the quartet, see WP:IRS. Not clear how reliable the Canadian Encyclopedia is, if it's a Wiki site like this one or something that's officially published. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 02:07, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
Draft:Brian Posler
Hi Angus, if you look at the 8 criteria for academia you included and it did not meet. I believe he meets point 6. Please advise 73.54.8.126 (talk) 01:55, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- 73.54.8.126, please elaborate on that on the talk page for the draft. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 02:04, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

- He almost has as many subscribers as Jazza. He is the most popular madden/fifa/2k YouTuber. Manny Manatee (talk) 15:33, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- That doesn’t matter though, I asked someone else that does reviews and they said you have to have 3 good sources, that fact check. I now have 3 news sites. Manny Manatee (talk) 15:31, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- You need to get rid of the bad sources like celebslife and wikifamous.
- You also need to connect the sources to the statements made in the article. Right now you have just a bunch of unsourced video descriptions that doesn't show any significance to the person's career. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:34, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

- infofamouspeople, youtubers.me, informationcradle are not reliable sources. these just aggregate his information from the web. Same with The Paradise.
- tubefilter might be ok, but focuses on his madden video
- the entire article needs a rewrite to his biography and career and not be a list of just his videos with stats. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:49, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- If I do that, will you post it? I have already had a problem with blasting 5 hours on an edit and it being deleted. Manny Manatee (talk) 15:50, 22 March 2023 (UTC)

Review the draft
I have created a draft for Gumraah (2023) Film, it was rejected citing the reason that another draft exists with same name. Draft:FOREX.com
Hi AngusWOOF,
[27-03 update]:
Based on your feedback, I have resubmitted FOREX.com page draft. The following major changes were added:
1. More references added to external, independent sources that focus on FOREX.com as a business specifically 2. References and new content focus on FOREX.com as a distinct business independent from GAIN Capital (as a separate subsidiary), since its acquisition by StoneX 3. More content added, most notably to the regulatory section, to impartially cover all past regulatory issues with the inclusion of in-depth, reliable publications covering the company 4. Improved interlinking with other Wikipedia pages, e.g. on regulatory bodies
--- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris at StoneX Group Inc. (talk • contribs) 16:30, 27 March 2023 (UTC) Thanks for your earlier notes on FOREX.com page submission. I am currently in the process of implementing you feedback, expanding content and providing more in-depth references. Will resubmit after that happens. Best.

I noticed that you reverted this IP a couple of times on Aya Hirano, and checked their contribs, linked in the section heading. Looks like they've added voice actor to the leads of a number of seiyuu and Western voice actor articles. Cleaned up a couple, but just thought that you might want to take a look and maybe escalate to AIV or something else if you feel it to be appropriate. I personally haven't done any ant-vandalism notification stuff for a long time, so I barely remember how to do reports and the like, and don't feel comfortable working on it myself. Thanks! GhostStalker (Got a present for ya! / Mission Log) 21:44, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- GhostStalker, if it's consistently that IP, you can warn them about disruption/vandalism and if they continue from there with newer edits, report their IP to AIV. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 04:00, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry to bother you again, but the IP is doing it again on a couple of seiyuu pages, like Aya Hirano again. I reverted them, but as I previously said, I haven't interacted with the vandalism reporting pages for a long time, so I'm not sure how to proceed here. GhostStalker (Got a present for ya! / Mission Log) 14:27, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi GhostStalker, I would leave them a disruptive warning message (use subst:uw-disruptive2 or subst:uw-vandalism2 ) and if they keep doing that, then report them to AIV. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:56, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Done, thank you. Will take them to AIV if they continue. GhostStalker (Got a present for ya! / Mission Log) 19:34, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

Help on creating Page
- Just saw the reply, Again, I’m not assosciated with the athlete, I'm working specifically on Professional Italian/American athletes. I just need some assistance in regards to the article on Professional Italian/American soccer player Andrea Pregoni. I have adjusted the notable resources and layouts. Again, analyzed other professional soccer players recourses and have gathered the same references. I just need some assistance in order to proceed as well with the others. This is the draft link of the new version. It has all updated layout and references.

"As AC Oulu is not in the highest league at the moment, being a player on their team doesn't confer notability. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 16:46, 15 March 2023 (UTC)" Yes, AC Oulu is in the highest league at the moment. And has been since the start of the 2021 season. So I don't know where you got that information. He is one of the upcoming young players in the squad and has already gained interest in bigger teams. I will add more references to the draft. I've tried to send you a message to ask why you rejected my article. but I don't see it anywhere now. I'm new to this space, but spent a lot of work writing it, using a range of sources as required, and you rejected it right off the bat. SquarePeg89 (talk) 18:13, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I have updated the article https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Catharine_West. If you still think it does not meet the criteria, then please provide specific examples from the text that I can change for the approval. thanks
Earthianyogi (talk) 13:21, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- Earthianyogi, it still reads like a resume. The sourcing is coming from her academic profiles (primary) or papers (also primary). Can you find other external news sources that show notability for the professor? Also you can specify on the talk page what critieria she meets for WP:NACADEMIC AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 19:33, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- May be you are looking at the older version of this page by mistake? I did add many new external sources (total 23) but I am not sure why you cannot see them? Are we talking about two different versions of the same page?
- WP:ACADEMIC criteria: Academics meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable.
- Professor Catharine West's profile satisfy the following criteria:
- 1. "The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources. The most typical way of satisfying Criterion 1 is to show that the academic has been an author of highly cited academic work – either several extremely highly cited scholarly publications or a substantial number of scholarly publications with significant citation rates. To count towards satisfying Criterion 1, citations need to occur in peer-reviewed scholarly publications such as journals or academic books." Numerous independent sources talk about her work as listed in her profile. Also, her work is highly cited in the field.
- 2. "The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level. " She has received two major awards for her work as listed in her profile.
- 3. "The person has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a Fellow of a major scholarly society for which that is a highly selective honor (e.g., the IEEE)." She has been a fellow and a member of numerous prestigious societies as listed in her profile.
- Let me know where is the misunderstanding? ~~~~ Earthianyogi (talk) 20:11, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- I've copied over the criteria list to the talk page.
- I don't see the other sources. It is still dominated by primary sources from either journals that mention her research, academic profiles in related organizations, and her own research papers. We need external news sources that cover her that are not associated with her. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:19, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry, but where on this page Wikipedia:Notability (academics)#Criteria it says anything about news sources? In criterion 7 and citation metrics it does mention news, but I am not really considering them here? Earthianyogi (talk) 20:24, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Also please clean up the honorific language there by changing "Prof. West" to "West". AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:20, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- sure, some editors like it some do not. Earthianyogi (talk) 20:24, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Please see MOS:SURNAME. It's mentioned in first use only and then surname from there on, unless there are multiple people sharing the same name in the article. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 21:14, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- sure, some editors like it some do not. Earthianyogi (talk) 20:24, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- The section headers are all biased in tone. Why list the section header as "Prestigious awards" and not "Awards"
- Also please declare COI if you have any association with West or her research groups / institutions. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:22, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Hello. After reviewing the notability guidelines, etc., I notice that there is some discretion it seems at the behest of approvers in terms of how many sources are considered 'noteworthy'. The individual in question (Angus Abercrombie) is a young, local politician who has recently been covered on the front page of the Boston Globe (a major Boston-area newspaper), and continues to be covered in additional news articles as the week goes on (WBZ, another major Boston area TV channel), and local news. He was just elected to local office and is routinely active in political figures, and I would expect - I am not affiliated with this individual - the trend to continue based on media coverage. I recently updated the article to include some information on the WBZ interview and from the local news source.
Essentially, I am wondering how much it actually takes in order for reviewers to consider an article noteworthy enough. I have read the guidelines but there does not seem to be a clear answer. There is not going to be any scholarly reviews on a local politician. I just do not want to waste time editing an article if it will keep being rejected because the elected office isn't a statewide office (ex: from notability guidelines). The individual in question seems to be, at least, currently media-covered and recently elected, so I figured having info would be a routine addition to Wikipedia. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

- Thanks for taking the time to review my draft article. I'm puzzled as to why you thought the article sounded like an essay. As I read the Wikipedia guidelines, it sounds like they don't want people giving their own opinions about things. Rather, ideas from secondary sources are required, which is what my entire article is, as further evidenced by all the References. What else would you suggest, please?

Draft:Parade Technologies
Thank you for reviewing my article submission so quickly. I have edited the article & citations based on your feedback, and feedback from Teahouse commentators.
Before I re-submit, I would like to address a few of the points you made. With regard to COI, I fully acknowledge that I am being paid to create this page. I *thought* I had disclosed that correctly on my profile, but if there are additional disclosure steps, I would appreciate knowing how to proceed. I am not trying to hide my COI.
Despite my disclosed COI, I am trying to create a 100% factual profile of a notable company that would be of interest to some readers. There may indeed be similarities between this article and a company website, however that does not detract from its factual nature nor relevance. The article does not advocate for the company's products vs. competitions. It merely recites company history, product categories and affiliations.
Parade is a technology company that is well-known within its industry, if not by the wider public. This is attested to by the multiple independent sources cited that specifically include Parade in their coverage of "major design houses" or product suppliers. These media sources are respectable technology journals and research firms that cover the industry; some of their full articles are only available behind a paywall. In addition there are citations of the company being nominated for awards by a global industry association.
Finally, the company is publicly listed on a major international stock exchange. I would think this fact alone is evidence of notability.
To be sure, Parade is a component in the global supply chain. As such, it is the type of relatively obscure company that would never be the subject of a major write-up in the general interest press. Is that not more reason for some basic, factual information to be available to Wikipedia readers who may seek to understand basic info on this company?
Thank you for considering this context, and I look forward to your continuing feedback. SVtrustee (talk) 15:19, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- SVtrustee, thank you for your comments. I'll put a copy of this note on the draft page so other AFC reviewers can look.
- A major concern I have is that it still reads like a company website with how the product listings are described and the section headers. You have a bunch of trademark symbols for company and product names, see MOS:TM and WP:IBA.
- The article should also mainly reference those multiple independent sources and not the corporate website. They should not be press releases or primary sources. If you can highlight those on the draft talk page, then AFC reviewers can check that out. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:26, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your detailed reply AngusWOOF.
- The trademark symbols included are NOT company TMs, rather they are TMs of various technology standards that are created by 3rd party organizations that insist on their use (like HDMI(tm) the interface used for digital televisions). It is standard AP style to include TMs on first use in an article....should I remove them from this draft? They are not included as a promotion of the company, but to legally mark a 3rd party's intellectual property.
- I have updated the draft to remove most citations from the company website and press releases; a few remain as the only source for certain key historical developments. But I will highlight the best 3 citations as you suggest. Is there a suggested format to do this?
- Finally, what is the issue with the section headers? SVtrustee (talk) 15:52, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- TM may be AP style but it's not Wikipedia style, see MOS:TM, so yes, remove from draft.
- The best 3 citations can be put on the talk page so that other AFC reviewers can critique them. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 16:02, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your guidance.
- I have removed all trademarks from the article, as well as almost all citations from the company website or company press releases. Citations based on public announcements from third party organizations (Global Semiconductor Alliance, VESA, etc.) remain, as I believe they are indications of Parade's notable role within the industry.
- And at your suggestion I have identified the best 3 (well 4) citations for AfC reviewers.
- The article covers basic information about the company. I have tried to model this article on others identified as GA, like TouchWave. SVtrustee (talk) 18:13, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @SVtrustee, I'm one of AngusWOOF's talk page stalkers, you should place {{Connected contributor (paid)|User1=Username of the paid editor|U1-employer=Name of person/organization that is paying for the edits|U1-client= Name of client|U1-otherlinks=Insert diff to disclosure on your User page.}} onto the talk page of the affected articles to disclose your paid editing. As the page is an AfC, I would highly recommend you read WP:PE as it contains everything needed for that, as well, This is a brief guide for paid editing and how to disclose it, as paid editing without disclosure may lead to a block or ban. The template helps with disclosure as well. Wesoree (Talk) 15:27, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

- I have identified 3 on the talk page. And I greatly appreciate your positive and encouraging feedback.
- Can you point me to any wikipedia articles on corporate entities that you think highly of? That do not sound like a corporate website? SVtrustee (talk) 16:57, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- You can look at WP:COMPANIES and pick any of the ones that are rated GA or higher on the assessment scale. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 00:13, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
- Keep in mind those are fairly detailed at the moment, but the draft does not be. It's probably better for yours to be a stub that is clearly shown to pass WP:GNG AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 13:48, 15 April 2023 (UTC)

G2 of draft
I noticed that you nominated Draft:SHOULD THE INTERNET BE EXEMPT FROM SALES TAXES? for G2. I don't see how the draft is a test edit. My rejection somehow overrided your decline since we reviewed it at the same time, however that just seems more like an opinionated essay rather than a test. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:36, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

- I don't think so, it's not really a hoax nor vandalism. I'd say just leave it until it inevitably gets deleted under G13. Draft: Sabrina Fidalgo
Good afternoon, AngusWoof.
On behalf of a friend, I am continuing the work of creating a page for the Brazilian filmmaker Sabrina Fidalgo. I see the draft has been rejected multiple times, both yesterday and back in the 17th. And with good reason, I admit.
However, I did a massive overhaul, adding lots of information verified by multiple sources, both in Brazil (O Globo, Cláudia) and internationally (Bustle, International Film Festival Rotterdam). I DID include info from the author's personal website and Instagram account, but only to cover the most basic facts (such as date of birth and early life). I understand we should avoid sources related directly to the subject, but there was nowhere else I could have gotten that info.
The most opinionated info, such as acclaim and recognition, are all covered by these reputable and independent sources listed above. None of them belong to the author or have any direct ties to her, so I figured they would qualify.
In short, I don't understand what's missing for approval. Give me a heads up so I can improve the draft further. Slinn Thiefy (talk) 15:35, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- Slinn Thiefy, is your friend associated with Fidalgo or her organizations?
- If the verbiage is opinion it should be quoted and cited by the critic. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:16, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
Draft: Inverse Gamma Function
Hi Anguswoof, I have asked on the gamma function talk page as per your comments and they have agreed that the draft I am working on should have its own page, as opposed to being added to the gamma function page. So I have resubmitted it. Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Onlineuser577215 (talk • contribs) 07:09, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Onlineuser577215, that looks good. One of the editors there stated it should try to meet WP:GNG, so I would read that and try to run some sources by them to get their feedback. If the topic is discussed in graduate textbooks, that would help too. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:20, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Draft: Fractional Work
Hi @AngusWOOF, I've tried to take all your feedback on board on the Fractional Work draft contribution and rewrite almost every section based on your feedback. I've also added a section how fractional work differs from freelancing. All sections now also have references and I expect to be able to add more references over the upcoming weeks. I would greatly appreciate any further feedback as I've read so many help pages nog and tried to do it as best as I can. Many thanks again for your time! Factwanderer (talk) 07:42, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Factwanderer it still reads like an essay, especially with the section headers. Also, each of the paragraphs need to be supported with references. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 14:13, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ok clear. Will work on removing the section headers and writing more factual. Every paragraph will be referenced in the next version. Thank you very much for taking the time, really appreciate it! Factwanderer (talk) 14:18, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
Hi @all @AngusWOOF @Greenman@Factwanderer - I stumbled upon this discussion because I also have a draft, which was rejected (Draft: Azimuth project). I have shortread the Fractional Work draft. Funnily my drafts' project is an example where a lot of "fractional work" had been taken place (just without payment) and I think that this "review work" here falls into the same category. So- I found the article about fractional work useful (but again I couldn't see an "essay style"...:o) but may be one should add a topic which is called "unpaid fractional work" for completeness reasons. In my draft I actually provided some explanations why some work can't be "paid" for. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kontributor0815 (talk • contribs) 07:00, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- I wouldn't use the older version of that draft as an example, since that will then suffer from the problems highlighted. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:21, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- I’m so sorry as I’m quite new and learning. Do you suggest starting a new contribution on the topic whilst fixing the things we need to fix? Again thanks for your help! Factwanderer (talk) 17:51, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- I would focus on a concise stub article about the subject, and ensure it meets WP:GNG. If it's pertaining to the Fractional work draft, I would get feedback from the talk page for Part-time job to see if it is suitable to split out from that. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 18:42, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- ???
- There is no update which contains a section on unpaid work. Kontributor0815 (talk) 08:40, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Request on 06:25:52, 18 May 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by Kontributor0815
you wrote:
"This submission reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article. Submissions should summarise information in secondary, reliable sources and not contain opinions or original research. Please write about the topic from a neutral point of view in an encyclopedic manner."
Many thanks for reviewing ! I will go through what you wrote in order to explain why I don't understand at all why the article had been rejected.
"This submission reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article" doesn't sound like a exclusionary allegation, as you are referring to some kind of matter of "style" - so I guess the biggest problem is "no reliable sources", as all opinions are cited and not stated as such and the original research had been done within the project and published on the internet beforehand. A second point might be "neutrality". I come to this in a moment. Regarding the sources- I explicitely wrote in the text that nothing was published in Climate or other journals, because this was more or less not possible, mostly because we were detached from climate science. That means we even didn't know (and still don't know) where a climate science critique can be published without being falsely disguised as a climate change denier. If you are an outsider you don't know a lot of context (most importantly whom to cite) so in particular a lot of the "research" would have been identified as "trivial" (Also in the text). So for example sifting and controlling the completeness of surface temperatur data sets (like CRUTEM, as decribed in the text) wouldn't be regarded as "research" -and was thus probably tremendously neglected. It was probably only the amount of neclectedness that made NOAA reconsider the data sets and probably the fact that finally "some jerks on the internet" (like us) noticed the bad state of temperature data and discussed this publicly in the internet (like very visibly with the CRUTEM app). It is also that on one hand we wanted to make a fuss which was big enough that NOAA noticed but which became not so big that climate change deniers would jump on the wagon and take it with them. I hope that it is clear now that there are basically no more "reliable sources" possible than the Wayback machine or John Baez blog (and maybe some other blogs I dont know about).
I tried to write about the topic as neutral as possible, but I was a member (I declared the conflict!) so may be you see more unneutrality than me, there is surely a bias on my side about the choice of topics to be reported about (finally one tends to write about the things one knows best about), but this is Wikipedia so if people think another preference should be set they can change.
Kontributor0815 (talk) 06:25, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- Kontributor0815, it reads more like a detailed progress report on the project rather than an encyclopedia article, and would be more appropriate for the project's website. It can be rewritten as a short stub first that simply explains what it is, how/when/where/who it was founded, and how it is notable. As for references, there should be some major media that covers the work of the organization. Wayback is okay if the site archived is a reliable source. See WP:ORGCRIT and WP:GNG. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:18, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- It is not a progress report, because the project had been terminated. The project website doesn't exist anymore besides copies in the wayback machine. The only bigger "source reliability" comes probably only from the person John C. Baez. That is, he is a professor emeritus at UCR and who has a Wikipedia entry. All other 140 and more participants are just ordinary scientists with no particular noteworthy credentials than those as given in the links. The backup project (which was a subproject) has still an old a Kickstarter web site: https://HEREKICKSTARTERADRESS/projects/592742410/azimuth-climate-data-backup-project, which I would add to the draft but kickstarter has been blocked by Wikipedia.
- The Washington Post had reported about the Backup, but didn't list all the entities which were involved in this backup effort: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energy-environment/wp/2016/12/13/scientists-are-frantically-copying-u-s-climate-data-fearing-it-might-vanish-under-trump/ in particular this article doesn't mention the Azimuth project as such, but just that an effort was made.
- I still don't understand your "Essay Style" objection. In my view this is a summary about a project of an NGO that is terminated and an Encyclopedia has to provide "summaries of knowledge". The relevance of the Azimuth project lies in its effect on climate science knowledge and one has to detail a bit in order to make this visible, so a stub is not enough. The "how/when/where/who it was founded" was in the intro. Kontributor0815 (talk) 08:00, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- I suggested the stub in order to show basically that it is notable and can be supported by the most basic of reliable sources per WP:GNG. Then it can be accepted by AFC and improved upon. If you don't want to go through AFC, then so be it. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 16:28, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- OK. I now made a "stub" at: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Azimuth_Project
- I hope that the participation at the climate science Backup project (see Washington Post) and a membership of 140 professionals is enough for Wikipedia relevance. I couldnt include the critique of the state of surface temperature data and subsequent NOAA reaction and the image because that would fall under "self-promotion" ala tempy-swanky-gogogirl, although it would show more relevance of the project (in my self-promoting opinion).
- I don't know if you are going to review the stub in case not I'd like to thank you for the effort here. Kontributor0815 (talk) 07:39, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

- Hi @AngusWOOF, thanks for getting back!
- So far I have come across the following previously unused sources:
- 1) An announcement of the „Film Music Contest“ (FMC) from 2022, where Fifty Vinc participated (his real name was used) and made it to the finals in the category “Music for film, tv, ads and video games” (Top 10): here
- 2) A post on „TheWordIsBond“, where he is mentioned with his single “Undefeated Champion” among others: here
- I don't think these are "excellent" sources, that’s why I haven’t used them yet, but if you think they can be included in the article, I would appreciate a tip. But I am still looking for more sources! Matthew Tailor (talk) 22:48, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- The Word Is Bond looks like a blog website, so I wouldn't call that a reliable source. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 17:02, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- @AngusWOOF Yes, I understand. What about the FMC source? Would it improve the article if I add a sentence with the source? There’s another link where he is mentioned in the semifinals. I would add both, the semifinals and the finals source. Here is the semifinals source. Matthew Tailor (talk) 12:10, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023
Hello AngusWOOF,
Backlog
Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.
Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.
Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.
You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.
Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

Randy Goffe
You rejected the Randy Goffe article on the basis of notability. However this artist is very notable in the synthwave - chill wave community, and abroad. His YouTube video has over 110 million views with 150 million plays on Spotify, and is a trending song on TikTok, YouTube and other websites. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GW6sLrK40k)
if this is the case then the Mr.Kitty article should not exist Nor should the article dedicated to floral shoppe.

- The number of views or plays on Spotify, Tiktok, or Youtube isn't what makes them notable. Please find external news articles that show notability for the person. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:45, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Balaram Iyer (Singer)
Hello, AngusWOOF. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Balaram Iyer".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 04:12, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, AngusWOOF,
- You moved a page from this title and then another editor removed the redirect and created a draft article on the page. Hence, you receiving this CSD G13 notice. Just thought I'd acknowledge that you didn't write this article. Be well. Liz Read! Talk! 04:13, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
John H. Davis submission
Hi,
I just discovered your feedback for my submission. Thank you! So helpful. Will be curious to hear if this draft comes closer to the mark and what might still be needed. Noting that since I submitted the first draft, the New York Times did a feature article on Davis' band The Folk Implosion. (Also, I think that "John H. Davis" would be better than John Heathcote Davis but I haven't figured out how to change that yet. I'm new to editing on Wikipedia, as is no doubt obvious to you.) Thanks! New pages patrol newsletter
Hello AngusWOOF,
Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!
October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.
PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.
Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.
Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Draft: Miguel and the Living Dead
Hi Angus,
the previous version may have been poor, but it was not a promotional item for the band. This is not a young band, because it was founded in 2001. He is quite recognizable in the areas of independent music with the aesthetics of gothic rock, post punk, death rock and psychobilly. There is no distortion of reality or facts about the band. This is objective information. In this matter, if there are any doubts, I advise you to consult your knowledge and competences with a good expert in the above-mentioned musical aesthetics. He will only confirm that this is not an amateur band, but one that already has a successful musical career. Please find out which bands MATLD played together at concerts and festivals, e.g. New Model Army, Sex Gang Children, The Damned, Clan Of Xymox, Combichrist, Deine Lakaien, Lacrimosa, Nitzer Ebb, Samael, Theatre Of Tragedy, VNV Nation, The Legendary Pink Dots, Suicide Commando, Diary of Dreams, Front Line Assembly, She Past Away, XIII. Století, Lacuna Coil, Blutengel, Me And That Man. These are well-known bands in this music and music-related area. The concerts are supported by reliable sources in the article.
According to Wikipedia's rules, the team meets the requirements for publication.
1. was the subject of many music articles (Polish and foreign) in professional magazines: Zillo, Orkus, Teraz Rock, Machina, Noise Magazine. This is confirmed by the sources in the article.
2. is a niche band, so it certainly wasn't played on big music charts, but it was played on Polish Radio "Trójka" (for example, songs: Night of Terror and Bonehead) and Radiostacja. His songs are listed on last.fm (if that matters)
3. has not yet been certified gold, but many bands on the wiki do not have such a status
4. some concert reports are described on the Internet and in paper journals: Zillo, Orkus, Machina, Teraz Rock, Noise Magazine (mentioned above). The German-language Orkus is one of the most important and best music magazines of this aesthetic in the world.
5. released two full-length albums, on two independent labels with several years of experience. The first German-Austrian, the second Polish. Several good bands released on Strobelight records: All Gone Dead, Frank the Baptist, Pink Turns Blue, The Last Days Of Jesus, Sleeping Children. The Noise Annoys label mainly releases albums by Polish bands, very popular on the Polish market, but also foreign ones (mainly punk rock aesthetics): TZN Xenna, One Million Bulgarians, Apteka, Deuter, Variété, U.K. Subs. After several years on the music market, Strobelight Records ceased operations for unknown reasons. Noise Annoys has evolved into a record label and concert organizer [2][1].
6. It is a band consisting of two ambitious, talented musicians who played in other famous bands: Pete - Devilish Presley, Klaus - TZN Xenna, One Million Bulgarians (see Polish wikipedia).
7. He is one of the important representatives of this aesthetic in Europe after 2000, and when it comes to Poland, there is no band apart from MATLD that would play post punk, goth rock, horror punk, deathrock, psychobilly at the same time (they write about it in Zillo, Orkus, Machina, Noise Magazine). Yes, there are several famous bands, but they play classic goth rock combined with gothic metal or dark wave, among others: Closterkeller, Deathcamp Project etc (see polish wikipedia).
8. was nominated for an award at the Polish concert in Jarocin in 2006, but only won an honorable mention due to the fact that the lyrics were only in English (there is a source confirming this).
9. in total as above. It was certainly appreciated at the largest festival in Europe, Castle Party in Bolków. He played there twice. It's strange that there is no article about this festival on the English-language Wikipedia!
10. this team was not in the media. Only brief mentions of festivals on regional television and concerts in various countries. This will be difficult to verify.
11. it was thanks to Noise Annoys in Poland, the band was played on Polish radio "Trójka", "Radiostacja" and was the subject of music articles in Teraz Rock and Noise Magazine. Thanks to Strobelight Records, he gained attention mainly in German popular music magazines (Zillo and Orkus).
12. Miguel and the Living Dead only appeared on a few Polish radio programs Trójka and Radiostacja. He didn't appear on TV programs, apart from short interviews covering music festivals (in Polish and English).
I'm also adding information from discogs, because it is a very reliable source, especially when it comes to the line-up, connections, albums, etc. Please see Carcass, discogs is also quoted there. Many concert materials are available on You Tube, but I decided not to quote them.
Please approach the article substantively in these musical areas, objectively and seriously. Please also appreciate my contribution. MKutera74 (talk) 01:34, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Would like to discuss how I can fix my new Radio Wolf article and your reasons for declining it
Hello! I submitted the draft for Radio Wolf (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Radio_Wolf) and you declined it this morning. I wanted to find out what more info I need to provide in order to resolve this.
Your first point was that PROXIMITY is covered under the Parallels page. The album work from him and Parallels was a joint project, and not that he was secondary on the project, which is why I think it is important it be noted on his Wiki entry. https://radiowolfandparallels.bandcamp.com/album/proximity-music-from-the-original-motion-picture According to his own bio he was the one who was approached to contribute to the album so it definitely should be included in his Wiki page - https://www.radiowolfmusic.com/about
Otherwise the rest of his article includes references to 12 total artists that he has worked with. He has his own albums, his own EPs, his own singles, and was producer on albums for many of the artists listed, so I'm unsure of what else I need to provide to show he isn't just a part of Parallels. He also hasn't worked with Parallels for a few years.
I'm new to Wiki entries but want to fix these things so please help me understand what I can do. Thank you! 38.44.207.157 (talk) 18:16, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
- 38.44.207.157, please see WP:MUSICBIO and list what criteria he meets there on the talk page or comments. It should not have references to his own websites for the information. It should refer more to external news articles and magazines that review his life and work. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 19:34, 12 March 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024
Hello AngusWOOF,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Draft:Rhaenyra Targaryen
Dear Angus, when declining the draft article Draft:Rhaenyra Targaryen more than a year ago, you suggested that the submitter may propose a split of a list article instead. However, Rhaenyra Targaryen actually redirects to the article on a novel, and I have been unable to locate any list this character occurs in. The result was that the proposer now asked for a split from the novel article over at WP:Proposed article splits (whose backlog I am currently attempting to address), but that doesn't make too much sense since there is no dedicated content to be split from there, just the plot. Would you agree with me closing the split as unsuccessful and then just resubmitting the AfC submission as is, or am I missing something? Felix QW (talk) 17:18, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
- Denied. 135.135.136.245 (talk) 13:51, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- Seems to be a main character in that novel. Still hasn't had a decent discussion over whether there is separate notability for Rhaenyra Targaryen outside of the novel. The character is not listed in the main list for Song of Fire and Ice characters, or even mentioned in the Targayen familyi tree. I recommend checking with folks involved in that WP to see if the character warrants separate notability over at WP:ASOIAF AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 00:37, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
