Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Valvan Dam, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 07:03, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to Indrayani river. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 07:04, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Indrayani river. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Proposed deletion of Valvan Dam

[edit]

The article Valvan Dam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Eeekster (talk) 07:08, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard to read formatting, as you did in Valvan Dam, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. There is a Manual of Style that should be followed. Eeekster (talk) 07:24, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did to Valvan Dam, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Eeekster (talk) 07:32, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A Little help formatting references

[edit]

I noticed the struggle that you were having with including references. I thought i would show you a simple way to include references. There are more complicated and complete forms that could be used and in time you may familiarise yourelf with them but for now here is the basics.

The text that is to be in the article goes here. <ref>[http://www.your-reference-url-here.ca/subpage3.html your-reference-url.ca]</ref>

The text of the article then continues to the end of the paragraph or until the next ref.

==References==

{{reflist}}

And this is how it would appear.

The text that is to be in the article goes here.[1] The text of the article then continues to the end of the paragraph or until the next ref.

I hope this helps you with your new article. Please also be aware that articles cannot be copied directly from copyrighted sources. They have to be written in your own words.

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did to Pune Metropolitan Area, you will be blocked from editing. Eeekster (talk) 17:50, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent addition to Manduadih has been marked for Speedy Deletion, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. There are numerous articles that you have used www.india9.com as the primary source of text in creating new articles. delirious & lost (talk) 01:21, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Manduadih requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. delirious & lost (talk) 01:24, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Short articles

[edit]

Hi. While short articles are fine, they need a certain amount of content. Please don't write short, near-contentless and unreferenced articles and please consider reviewing WP:YFA and WP:STUB. Thanks. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:28, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. Once more, you've written an article about something which, try as I might, am unable to identify. You may wish to create a user subpage or a sandbox page:

User:Ak2431989/Sandbox

This will allow you to flesh out an article on whatever this is without being in the main article space. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:44, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not create articles without sufficient content to identify the subject as well as being of questionable notability. I have protected the title against recreation; please do not engage in edit warring over this. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:37, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Svjnstation.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 20:35, 9 March 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:35, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Train_Look.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Closedmouth (talk) 16:23, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Vaishali Restaurant requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Mean as custard (talk) 12:05, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

[edit]
Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia.
I'm sorry, but this has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD. Generally, articles are speedily deleted when there is no assertion of significance or they fall into things to avoid. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. Any deficiencies should be remedied before reposting.
For basic information on beginning to write an article see User:Dloh/new.
Sourcing is incredibly important for an encyclopedia. Be sure to list your sources at the bottom of the article.
For more general information about the deletion process, please see User:Dlohcierekim/deletion
If you believe the subject does in fact meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information, please contact me on my talk page.

If you wish to make test edits or work on the article before creating it, you can create a test page at User:Ak2431989/sandbox and consider using the Article Wizard to guide you through the creation process.
Cheers, and happy editing. Dlohcierekim 14:41, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Indian Camel

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Indian Camel. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Bactrian camel. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Bactrian camel - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. TheLongTone (talk) 08:45, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Ten Action, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: TEN Action+. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 11:52, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Rollball, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. A tag has been placed on Flyington Freighters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Capitalization issue

[edit]

Hello, and thanks for your contributions on India topics, and sports in India particularly.

One thing though: please see MOS:CAPS, "Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization". In short, only words that are proper nouns should be written with a capital initial letter. That goes for section headings too.

I have checked a couple of articles you've edited, and my impression is that you tend to capitalize in section headings, and sometimes elsewhere too ("Association Football"). These are a few examples:

  • Sport in India
    • Pitch and Putt
    • Sports Broadcasting in India
    • Sports Leagues in India
      • Major Sports Leages
      • Other Sports Leages
      • Youth Sports Leages
      • Proposed Sports Leages

Please keep this in mind, and if you would go back and correct your own edits, that would be really great. If you don't, don't worry, it will be done by someone else later.

Regards

HandsomeFella (talk) 17:05, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again.
I see that you are still editing using unnecessary capitalization, recently seen in articles related to television in India, e.g. List of English-language television channels in India. The words "entertainment" and "news" are not proper nouns. Please stop capitalizing them, and other words, this way. The guidelines should be followed. See links above. Please read the guidelines.
Thank you
HandsomeFella (talk) 15:43, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello.
Sorry, I take that back. You only added a template, the erroneous capitalization was already there.

Hello, Ak2431989. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, India–Pakistan football rivalry, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ravendrop 08:12, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Broad gauge map of Indian railways with double or more line

[edit]

I have seen your excellent work on Indian railways. Actually I was looking for a broad gauge map of Indian railways depicting only double or more lines. I could not find such a map on net, the map on net lists all kind of lines such as single and double or more tracks but I want to filter out single lines or non-broad gauge lines from the map. I want to check what all heavy traffic rail lines of Indian railways have at least double tracks. Thanks. IndianGeneralist 15:04, 4 May 2014 (UTC).

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Venna River, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Satara (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Punjab Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". An article you recently created, Pune High-capacity mass transit route, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi! Please do not add specific list of trains using a particular coach type as you did at Indian Railways coaching stock. For one, as per the previous discussion on railway topics, Wikipedia is definitely not a travel guide to list down individual trains using the coaches.(Refer to WP:NOTTRAVEL) If you start listing down for all the coach types, it will be never ending list and not an encyclopedic content. If you have further reservations, please initiate a discussion on the same. Thanks! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 05:54, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
