Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Hello, Agencypr13. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Click on the [edit] after Disclosing PAID to see the below template. Copy, then paste to your User page

This user, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by whateverehernameis for their contributions to Wikipedia.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Annina Roescheisen. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. You asked at Teahouse how to edit about a client. You were given directions. You ignored those directions and made changes to the article. You changes were reverted. Dear David not Md I am learning how to use wikipedia, as i wrote also to Theroadislong.. i have not understood how to reply to your messages, i was not ignoring. I would appreciate any help you can give me in order for my edit to be uploaded. I work as a freelance, for an agency where Annina is a client and i am not being paid, i have offered to help as the content currently on her page is incorrect and i think it is unfair that she is not represented accurately as an artist , there was no information on her art or where she was exhibited etc.. i did not attempt to upload any information for the purposes of promotion or to be bias.. i have used her website and other websites to provide information that was already online, i edited out anything that was not factual and used references. i was also checking the page of other artists to see what was accepted so i dont understand why this wouldnt be okay? as i said before i really appreciate any help you can provide. If you work for an agency, i.e., are paid, and Annina is a client of that agency, then your relationship is considered paid, and MUST be declared. This means that for any content you propose, it must be put in the Talk part of her article so that a different editor can decide to addd it or not. Even if not paid, you must specify a conflict on interest on your User page. Separately, the artist's own website cannot be used as a reference. David notMD (talk) 15:00, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I work for an agency not for Annina, she is not my client and i am not being paid by the agency - i am learning from them, but in any case if you prefer then i can declare that I am being paid.. Standard practice is to declare your COI on your userpage with {{UserboxCOI}} AND on the article talk page (using {{connected contributor}}). For an example of how to use {{connected contributor}}, see Talk:RationalWiki. Make sure to use the source editor when making these declarations as the visual editor is in beta and will cause the template to display incorrectly. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 15:25, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The content you wrote is not gone. Click on View history. To the left of the line where you added content there is "Prev" Clicking on this will show what you added. If you want to preserve it in a different space you can copy it from there and paste it into your Sandbox. That would provide you a place to work on stuff. I removed the use of her own website as a reference. Instead, it is now in External links. David notMD (talk) 20:20, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have been sick so not able to log on for a while and now i am trying to add these COI to my page and to Anninas page in order to succesfully update but i cant find my previous edit when i go to View History it is not there. When I look at View history for Annina Roescheisen seven lines down, I see your name and a +9,934 bytes addition of content. Next line up is subtraction of same amount by Theroadislong. On your line, clicking on "prev" shows your additions as your edits. Another, and perhaps better for you to look at it, is to click on 8 January 2019 on your line. This will show how the article looked after your addition. YOU CANNOT EDIT IT, but you can copy it to your Sandbox, or even to a Word document, as a means of preserving your intended edits. Please let me know if this worked. You have not created a User page - which is why your name appears in red - so start that, and create the COI notice if appropriate. Same question. My understanding of "freelance" (your word) means paid but not as an employee. For Wikipedia, that still means WP:PAID You will need to declare paid rather than just COI. As paid, STRONGLY recommended that the editing path open to you is to start a new section at the Talk page of the article and propose your changes there.
