Your User page is the most awesome potential copyright violation EVER!

- Uhh... No it's not. I'ts not a copyvio to use HTML to replicate an iPod.touch. There are pictures of iPods all over the Internet, that aren't copyvios. Plus, it doesnt look much like an iPod when vandals/socks are writing "THIS IS ZSFGSEG YAY THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT ME ON SLASHDOT" (or whatever he said) all over it. ;) Access Denied – talk to me 07:10, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- I said potential becuase I don't know copyright from my left foot (okay not that bad, but still) I understand your frustration from the vandalism (my user page is indef semi-protected) but please see that as a compliment and accept it as such. It was a compliment. I think it's awesome. Seriously?
Wow. Someone is out to annoy you... -14K characters on my watchlist, plus religious ...speech... in the edit summary. Your talk is semiprotected but not your main page. I'm confizzled. Good job with the vandalism fighting though. If you're ticking people off like this, it's a sign that you're doing something right. Sven Manguard Talk 19:26, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thank for the compliment! And wow... Those vandals will do ANYTHING to annoy people. (I can take all the fuck you'd they throw out at me but when they mention my religion that's too far.) And I'm willing to bet that all these people are either 4chan or socks of you-know-who. But if it doesn't stop I'll have to file a protection request. (and I really am lucky that I've never received a full on 4chan attack) Access Denied – talk to me 19:55, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- I don't 'know who', and I can tell you that 4chan really has no game compared to what I've been through, i.e. being an unambiguous nerd in a rather unenlightened high school. Petty fools thinking that the world cares about the size of their EPs pale in comparison to someone who can do physical damage. If they have to pick on you because of your religion, well that's just sad, isn't it. We should talk in IRC once, I have some great stories. Sven Manguard Talk 23:41, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

- Ian, I will do that if you can get your article edits/total edits rate to 30%. Access Denied – talk to me 22:52, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, need attribution, etc. (for cc-by-sa 3.0) and I know I need to add compatibility for non-FF browsers, but I cba atm. And Ian, I suggest you make mainspace edits make up at least 50% of your total edits before you even start thinking about a new userpage. Why??
Why did you do this this? S/he is already blocked who gives a crap if their a sock puppet. If they were they would be blocked for that, so since their already blocked, why add a suspected sock puppet template. There might be something I'm missing here, if there is please tell me. Inka888 06:21, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Let me chime in here; this is helpful to do so that admins and others investigating sockpuppets can track behavioral patterns to help identify future socks. Even if an account is blocked for other, unrelated reasons, it helps to tag them as socks, if it is clear (see WP:DUCK) that they are, since tagging them places them in the relevent sockpuppet category, giving us one location to find all relevent sock accounts. If suspected socks are not tagged, we may never know about them. --Jayron32 06:40, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

GOCE Drive – Final push
Greetings GOCE Backlog elimination drive participant, We are now coming up to the last few days of the drive, the last for 2010. Currently, it looks like we will achieve our target for reducing the backlog by 10%, however, we still have huge numbers for 2009. We have 55 participants in this drive. If everyone just clears 2 articles each, we will reduce the backlog by a further 110 articles. If everyone can just do 3 articles, we will hit 165. If you have yet to work on any articles and have rollover words, remember that you do need to copyedit at least a couple of articles in this drive for your previous rollover to be valid for the next drive. There are many very small articles that will take less than 5-10 minutes to copyedit. Use CatScan to find them. Let's all concentrate our firepower on the first three months of 2009 as we approach the end of this final drive for the year. Thank you once again for participating, and see you at the finish line! – SMasters (talk) 04:10, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

I looked at this chart http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:ListUsers/ipblock-exempt which showed you had the permission, but I must have looked at it after the change was made at 17:23. The chart I checkd actually shows all your permissions, no matter what date they were assigned. So the one you used is a better source of information. Dianna, Kuru only changed AD's rights to IP Block Exempt at teatime today. He should not get any more problems with autoblocks from now on. Elen of the Roads (talk) 22:26, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- Si. Sorry, I did not notice the follow up conversation until just now. For editors like AD who find themselves using a frequently disrupted shared IP, I'd rather use IPBE than chase down every autoblock. Less frustration for all. I didn't see any reason to revdel the revealed IP since it was indicated it would only be used for a short time. Certainly, if he requested it, or it if it was too revealing (say, a corporate IP), I'd have no problems with hiding the edit. This should be covered at this point. - Who is vandalizing in your household? Is it your brother? HeyMid (contributions) 17:21, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
- Heymid, it's an IP pool, the last person to use it could have been miles away, or depending oh how the ISP operates, in another state entirely. Based on my knowledge of Access Denied, the vandal was not him, it was some other Verizon internet customer... or a bear. (Well, the map puts the owner of that IP in a public park in Malibu...) Verizon isn't well regarded on Wikipedia, as far as I can tell, because they host some pretty disruptive vandals and are decidedly uncooperative when we ask the company for help. As a result, I wouldn't be surprised to see large swaths of Verizon IP under various blocks. Sven Manguard Talk 18:10, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well yes, for Thanksgiving I'm staying down with family in Malibu but certainly not in a public park (they have a house, you know). My normal ISP is Comcast, I have no idea who itmight have been. Might have been my ten year old cousin. Access Denied 18:33, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

November 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive Conclusion
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
We have reached the end of our fourth backlog elimination drive. Thanks to all who participated. Stats
Barnstars If you copy edited at least 4,000 words, you qualify for a barnstar. If you participated in the September 2010 backlog elimination drive, you may have earned roll-over words (more details can be found here). These roll-over words count as credit towards earning barnstars, except for leaderboard awards. We will be delivering these barnstars within the next couple of weeks. Our next drive is scheduled for January 2011. In the meantime, please consider helping out at the Wikification drive or any of the other places where help with backlogs is needed. Thank you for participating in the last 2010 backlog elimination drive! We look forward to seeing you in January!
