Vandals
Is it necessary to jump to level 4 so fast when issuing vandalism warnings, such as for a first edit? Just a friendly reminder that there's a staggered warning system specifically to avoid biting newbies. In my experience it works, too. (And your own talk page advises "be nice" - "no attacking" ...) • Anakin (talk) 02:20, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, so I guess you're referring to that warning on the bot page edit? Well, I am less inclined to assume good faith when one has a history of vandalism (and make edits such as "bots are gay" in the lead. When I give a level 4 warning, I consider it an "enough is enough" kind of warning. I don't see how that's an attack or not being nice as you said above. A8UDI 03:25, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- I bumped into it on a vandal yesterday too (something involving "nigger"?). I've read your page linked above "reverting" and I understand now. I had mistakenly assumed you were biting newbies all over the place and had assumed that you didn't know about the proper templates, but I apologise as you clearly do know what you're doing. I always start cautiously with a level 1, and rarely skip levels. But no matter. Forget I brought it up. :) • Anakin (talk) 03:41, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- Its okay. Someone probably used curse/"hate" words and for me thats an automatic level 4IM warning. A8UDI 04:01, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

The Hong Kong Olympic football team Squad is overdue and some players is unqualified or have no cap for the team. I don't know why the list was including them. Hoising (talk) 07:25, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- K, just be sure to use the edit summary so other users know why you make such edits; otherwise just by glancing at your edits, there is no way to tell what you did was vandalism or not. A8UDI 07:28, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey there
Just thought I'd ask: am I allowed to make a hidden page article or something similar if the page has User:Adja01 / in front of it? That's what I'd heard. For example, this page Ajna01 (talk) 14:27, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, you may make subpages by searching for it (even though it won't exist) and clicking on the "you may create" ... page. Example, search User:adja01/..... and you can make it that way. Note that it may not violate any copyright laws and that it may not be anything illegal or it will be deleted. It should be related to your Wikipedia edits some way though, ideally. A8UDI 14:29, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Help me please
Tom, I see that you undid the change made to the Speedy deletion request made on Oct the 25th tag added to the Imperial Knight Eberhard (Bernhar) Buob (Booe). I think all the necessary facts are here in the page and would so love for you to remove this deletion tag. I will be adding more info on this as time goes on which will only add to the needs of facts. Please remove this tag and feel free to email me or talk with me on any part of this page. Ron —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rvbooe (talk • contribs) 16:02, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- I never editted that article.... but it doesn't look like it doesn't need to be deleted, but it would desperately benefit from the Manual of Style and Wikipedia:How to write a great article. A8UDI 16:08, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Tom, Thanks for taking the time to write me back. I will do as you have said. Can we remove this tag now? It just makes me nuts everytime I see it.
Thanks Ron —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rvbooe (talk • contribs) 16:20, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Southern strategy
I suggest that you undo this edit. The section you re-instated is highly POV and should be removed. — goethean ॐ 16:43, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- All I did was undo a section blanking. Don't jump to conclusions to think that I necessarily agree with the paragraph, I just don't agree with a complete section blanking. It's a large section, does it need to totally be blanked? (not a rhetorical question) I think it has a strong POV myself. A8UDI 19:05, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Tom
I think you said the page looked good to you as well. Can we remove the fast delete tag from the file? One of the people that had helped me with history and research removed it but you undid the remove.
Please let me know. The person that put it on is gone for some time and cant be reached.
Thank you so much for your time and help with this. Ron —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rvbooe (talk • contribs) 21:30, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Tom,
The page is: Imperial Knight Eberhard (Bernhar) Buob (Booe)
The url is: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Imperial_Knight_Eberhard_(Bernhar)_Buob_(Booe)
Please help me and let me know if we can go ahead and remove this fast delete tag. One of the people that helped me with the history and research removed the fast delete tag but you undid the remove.
I think you said before that the page was fine other then needing some work you listed.
The person that listed the fast delete is gone and will not be back for some time and this is driving me nuts.
Please help Thanks Ron--Rvbooe (talk) 21:49, 7 November 2009 (UTC)rvbooe
- hun, the speedy deletion tag is already removed. Now it looks like it just needs general clean up. My 2 favorites are manual of style and WP:How to write a great article. If you have any other questions, please ask. :) A8UDI 03:20, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Tom,
The place I see the Speedy deletion tag is on User talk:Rvbooe
The link is: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Rvbooe
It list my other page?
Can you tell me something about this?
Thanks Ron --Rvbooe (talk) 04:23, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- OHH.. no that's just your talk page.. haha, you may simply delete that section if you want. Don't worry about it. A8UDI 04:24, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

I have been trying to edit sexual slavery many times and every time none of my edits were accepted. Could you explain to me in detail what needs to be done to edit this topic so that it will be accepted? I have included referances and thought that it was done correctly. But it was always reverted back to the orginal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wr8675309 (talk • contribs) 05:01, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- Not quite.. .. How to cite and Wikipedia:Manual of Style have info that would be most beneficial for you. it should clear up citing problems. For example, the words "a lot" is generally unacceptable. If ya need anything please ask. A8UDI 10:59, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Charmaine Dragun edits
"Reverted good faith edits by MMIwod; Her final quote isn't something i'd say 'isnt necessary'.. you also changed the place of birth.. not sure if you reverted vandalism or what. (TW))"
No idea why you reverted my changes on the Dragun Page.
The woman was born in Perth and died in Sydney, so why Western Australia and NSW?
If you think the final quote(in my view overdramatizing)is necessary, put it back in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.71.132.225 (talk) 21:04, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, why do you think someone's final quote is irrelevant before his/her suicide? Seems noteworthy to me. A8UDI 21:07, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
I didn't say irrelevant, I said non-essential which is something different, but even that is not the point: why undo ALL my changes, just redo the quote. Not that your answer matters, I'm not putting a couple of hours work investing in Wikipedia to let it be undone by some dickhead (that's "eikel" in Dutch, put it your vocabulary). It's the first time and last time I did that. I'm done.

ABC schedule
Thanks for the welcome! There's someone who keeps posted a completely speculative winter/spring schedule on the ABC page. I've gotten rid of it, but they seem to keep coming back. How do I report them? (They seem to have a few different IPs, but unless three people are working together on this speculative schedule, it's the same person.) Thanks! Someanonymousperson (talk) 17:14, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- Let me review your contribs and for the matter. one moment. A8UDI 17:16, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, regarding those edits. Well first, I'm glad you take such passion in your editing :). However, realize that neither of those edits are technically vandalism and you may of course leave a message on their talk page (even an IP). Just simply ask or say something like "Hi, I saw you added a Spring 2010 schedule on ABC's programming. Do you have a reference? Thanks." Are they the same person? Probably not. They're both from the Toronto area but Toronto is a huge city and we have many many Canadian Wikipedians. In your preferences, you may install Twinkle (takes lit 2 clicks) to warn users. You may report them only after they vandalize after the level 4 (last warning) or 4IM (only warning) template. In fact, if you want to see how they work in action, see my "reverting" link at the top of this page and scroll down to warnings. I hope that this clears things up. If you have any other questions, do ask. Thanks, Tom. A8UDI 17:26, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Help
Hi Tom, I wondered if you could help me make a user subpage/ sandbox so that I can start drafting a new article for inclusion at a later date. I have been given instructions as to how to do this but so far I have had no luck.
Thanks --bessmorris 23:54, 11 November 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bessmorris (talk • contribs)
- WELL hello! How've you been! Certainly, it's incredibly easy. All you do is search User:Bessmorris/[your page here] and make it that way. However, there is actually an article wizard that you can utilize instead that will help you out. First see creating new articles for details about making your article. It contains info what should and should not be in an article. Click here to use Article Wizard to actually make your article. PS I see you still don't quite get the whole signature stuff. After your message, all you need to do is type 4 tildes (~~~~). No really-- it is that easy! I swear it will work! Maybe you just forgot? haha, sorry. A8UDI 02:48, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi Tom,
Thanks. Will let you know how I go.
--bessmorris 00:26, 19 November 2009 (UTC) PS Is this the correct signature? I have just been pressing the signature button? Now I will try typing the tildes. bessmorris 00:26, 19 November 2009 (UTC) AHA! OK, typed tildes it is from now on. Thanks again.

FkpCascais; I saw it happening too, but wasn't sure what was happening given the language in use (I assume Serbian) in this discussion on your talk page at the time. But, given that you kept reverting him I assumed after a time that it couldn't be good. Once I saw A8UDI's warning on his talk page get deleted, and three minutes later another reversion on your userpage, it definitely answered any questions about what was going on. I made a report on your behalf at the edit warring noticeboard, which result you can see here.
If, after his block expires, this sort of behavior continues, please let us know. If we don't happen to be around, you can make a report at the incidents noticeboard. You don't have to put up with this sort of behavior from anybody. --Hammersoft (talk) 00:30, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Mission Statements
North Posey High School
- "We believe all people in our schools have a right to learn and can learn at different levels and rates."
"We believe learning is the responsibility of the total school community."
"We believe our schools should promote a caring, cooperative, and challenging environment conducive to learning for each individual."
North Posey Junior High
- We at North Posey Junior High School believe that “Learning Comes First.” We are dedicated to providing curriculum which is individually challenging and to creating an atmosphere which is safe and caring. Parents, staff, and students assume joint responsibility for the educational process. Our overall goal is to help our students develop into educated, responsible citizens.
I think we will have to agree our opinions differ. . . Mean as custard (talk) 16:27, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm confused, you didn't address why it is meaningless. Meaningless can be a vague term that varies greatly. A8UDI 16:33, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- OK, perhaps I should have said there was no meaningful factual content, i.e. the sort of information that belongs in an encyclopedia ? Mean as custard (talk) 16:38, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Like I said, a school's motto is not meaningless and you seem to not be able to explain to me why; no matter how much you perceive it to not be true. Perception is not encyclopedic. If you continue to remove relevant data you will be blocked. A8UDI 16:40, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Editing Martin Dudziak
Hi. I was trying to remove the unsupported "peacock" paragraphs and dead links at Martin Dudziak . I see my edit was reversed twice. Help me understand why this edit is not appropriate. Thanks! 99.25.240.140 (talk) 18:13, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Certainly! You removed them, per the WP:Peacock policy. While I don't doubt there is a bias there, simply deleting them isn't usually the way to go about fixing an article. Those paragraphs technically don't fall under the PEACOCK policy either. A peacock would be "the greatest", "the best", the "smartest" etc; it simply just has a bias. Can you find a source for Dudziak? A8UDI 18:18, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- No, I can find very little, and the article is full of dead links and references to things that don't exist (like the Molecular Engineering and Biocomputing Lab). That's why I wanted to pare down what seems to be fluff. 99.25.240.140 (talk) 18:20, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

- The problem that deeply concerns me is the fact that fox news attempts to claim neutrality when their own newspaper, the New York Post, claims that they are conservative. Does anyone actually, wholeheartedly believe they are "fair and balanced"? It just seems to me, that FNC and even MSNBC are a bit more of entertainment and that CNN is the only real news outlet, because they do what they're supposed to: report the news and not skew it to make a political statement. And it's not like FNC is moderately conservative, it's more like, they do and say whatever they need to to make any and all democrats look bad... while completely lying about it to the viewers who actually believe that they are "fair and balanced." That's honestly frightening to me. Bill O'Reilly's arrogance and temper deeply bother me. The point is, relating all that to that user, well, what he did doesn't exactly qualify as vandalism. It just violated OR, even though, I doubt many Americans would honestly disagree with that. I digress, that user wasn't right. But I 'sighed' because I know where you were coming from. I'm sure he'd be a productive user if he learned the ropes of Wikipedia. A8UDI 05:34, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

- The problem that deeply concerns me is the fact that fox news attempts to claim neutrality when their own newspaper, the New York Post, claims that they are conservative. Does anyone actually, wholeheartedly believe they are "fair and balanced"? Hi A8UDI. Just a quick, friendly reminder - remember to substitute warning templates, particularly editwar. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 05:47, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Textually, no differences. When you substitute templates by adding the text "subst:" to the beginning of a template like this: , the text output of the original template is provided instead of the template. Compare:
Input:

Output: You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing.

We use substitution in order to "hide" the links to highly visible templates. It's easy for a vandal to locate and vandalize a template when editwar is the only visible text. However, trying to sort through You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war{{#if:| according to the reverts you have made on :{}}}. {{#if:|{}|}}<!-- Template:uw-3rr --> in an attempt to find a link to vandalize would be pretty difficult. But long story short, when you're notifying another user about something, please add "subst". Hope that helps to clarify things. Kind regards, FASTILY (TALK) 05:59, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Wow! Thank you!!! And you can do that for any template? Oh! what does <div></div> mean? (And just cuz I saw it, what's <pre><pre/> mean/do? :) thanks! 06:13, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- No problem!! "div" is simply part of HTML coding - see Span and div. <pre> stands for "preview". Basically the mediawiki software shows text in a box as it is without actually 'translating' the coding into images, links, ect. -FASTILY (TALK) 06:29, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Spacetime
Hi, A8UDI!
I would like to avoid editwar at Spacetime page in history section. You can see the discussion here: Talk:Spacetime/Archive 1#Pacha: spacetime in Incas' mindset. I guess mentioning Incan concept of pacha is quite interesting but my worthy opponent thinks that it isn't to serious to mention in the strict scientific context. Could you be the arbiter? Raoul NK (talk) 14:03, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hi there. I actually can't do it right now, I'll be busy for the next 3 hours or so. However, you may take the incident here and post the problem. An administrator will be take appropriate action if necessary. Be sure to listen and respond to others' ideas throughly before discrditing them. A8UDI 14:32, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response! I do not think the situation is so dramatic to get the administrators involved and of course wait for your advice. Raoul NK (talk) 14:40, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- Its ok, admins don't bite :). Fastily and Juliancolton are 2 very nice admins I can think of off the top of my head-- don't be shy! A8UDI 15:16, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

82.81.45.189 vandalism
Hello Tom ! Thank you very much for : (Reverted edits by "82.81.45.189" (talk) to last version by Raoniz) on the "Luc Hensill" page. You did it at 01:22, 19 November 2009 and three minutes later, at 01:25, 19 November 2009, "82.81.45.189" restarted his vandal work. Also, he deleted the "Tomahawk Blues Band" page and vandalize the "Flesh Colour", "The Klan (Belgian Band)" and the "Tomahawk Blues Band" pages. It seems that they want to deleted for ever the "Tomahawk Blues Band" page, that page was already vandalized on the 13 May 2007 by "86.3.205.7" It looks that they want the name Tomahawk for them alone ;-). Do I have to do something ? Raoniz (talk) 22:49, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- Okie doke, a couple things here.
1. you can look at the IP's contribs by clicking here.
2. An IP (or even an established user) can not delete a page. They may blank a page, and then all you need to do is look at the page's history by clicking on the top right corner "View history."
3. The "Undo" function undoes the previous edit. Note: since you are an established user, certain tools are available for you to use, especially Twinkle. It allows you to revert edits similar to the rollback feature. It also allows you to jump back to any version (very handy for a highly vandalized article). If you want to learn more about this, I will explain further.
4. Nothing is 'deleted forever'.. I'm not sure what you mean? There is an AfD-- (articles for deletion) consensus discussion in which the community decides what will be deleted, but note that even if a page is deleted, it is possible for it to be restored (by an admin). PROD deletion is a bit different which is what that IP did.
5. You may contest the deletion of Tomahawk Blues Band by explaining why it should not be deleted by explaining your reason on the talk page, by clicking here.
I hope this explains everything. Thanks, Tom A8UDI 00:06, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Disambigulation Talk Page
What are you referring to? The only edit I ever made to a talk page was done automatically by Wikipedia when I moved the related page (besides User talk pages, that is). Sincerely, Quinxorin (talk) 01:10, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- Here are your contribs. I was referring to CMD. A8UDI 01:14, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- That was an edit automatically made by Wikipedia. I moved CMD to CMD (disambigulation) and it automatically moved the talk page with it. You may be referring to my edit summary, "moved Talk:CMD to Talk:CMD (disambiguation): This is a disambigulation page; I am giving it the proper title. Also, I will be adjusting CMD to redirect to the Command Prompt article, and adding a disambigulation link to that article linking back t". Am I missing something? I am sort of new to this.
- Well I can promise you wikipedia doesn't do anything haha. You moved the talk page to redirect to another talk page. Please don't redirect talk pages, that's all. Each page is its own entity and should not be redirected to another talk page. If you need anything or have any questions, please ask. A8UDI 01:25, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

- That kind of tone isn't appropriate. Assume good faith. Second, while I don't know anything about baseball, I re-added that info box because that person plays for the Boston red sox, right? That's what the article says. So before jumping to conclusions, it'd be wiser to point out to me that it should not be there because? A8UDI 00:25, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

- Warned user. Still, no personal attacks are ever appropriate; and I realize this is easier said than done. Check out WP:UTM to warn an editor using premade templates (copy & paste) or consider creating an account to access valuable tools that help Wikipedia out that are unavailable to IPs. Creating an account will (eventually, after a few clean days) allow you to edit semi-protected ("locked") articles. Thanks A8UDI 02:10, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- If you have any questions about using the templates, please ask. Thanks A8UDI 02:11, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Jews
I am afraid there is some mix-up. I am doing some reorganizng of the Jew article. It was not my intention to delete any content, nor to delete any template. If I did, it was in error.
I have explained my changes in the edit summary and on the talk page.
If the edit template disappears, I am not sure why but I will certainly do what I can to fix it. Slrubenstein | Talk 13:54, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- Responded. It'd be easier to click "edit" at the top and just do all the changes in one go, because looking at the history, it looks like a different picture. Thanks A8UDI 13:59, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- You are right - the thing is, working one section at a time made it easier to focus on what I was moving. I regret this caused confusion for others but I did not want to mistakenly delete anything, and I was worried I might do that if I were just cutting and pasting within the article. Anyway I am done now, I hope nothing is missing. I was "bold" because I did not delete anything. But I do think that the article needs more substantive changes and have left a post on the talk page for discussion.Slrubenstein | Talk 14:20, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- It's okay. You may want to use an WP:Edit summary to help prevent any misunderstandings next time though ;) A8UDI 14:22, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

DMAE article
I believe I made a legitimate change to the DMAE page by removing a reference to life shortening that was supported by a source which made no reference to said life shortening in the report summary.
You reverted it immediately but then again reverted your own revert leaving my edit to stand, I assume you mistook my edit for vandalism but then realised I made a valid edit so I will check to see if my edit still stands later.

Speedy Deletion Converted to PROD: Durai Morai
Hello A8UDI, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have changed a page you tagged (Durai Morai) from being tagged for speedy deletion to being tagged for proposed deletion. The speedy deletion criteria are very narrow to protect the encyclopedia, and do not fit the page in question. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! decltype (talk) 17:49, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
