Smoking Pipe

I've had to undo your edits to the Smoking pipe page as Disambiguation pages exist to disambiguate similar pages (which must already exist on Wikipedia). You seem to have added two non-existent pages.

The page Pipe smoking already exists and referes to Cannabis under in the section Culture. There is also a page Cannabis (drug). If you're knowledgeable on the topic, I would recommend you expand either of these two pages.Obscurasky (talk) 15:07, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to make it better, but you did a better job, so thank you. I would like to edit more on the cannabis drug article. A8UDI talk 22:05, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the warm welcome, I wish I could bring more, but I ate half of them on the way here. I hope you have some warm milk for to go with this delicious dessert.

3RR note

Please take care on the Alan Grayson article, you are close to a 3RR violation, ta. Off2riorob (talk) 12:56, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Any alteration to a good faith edit from another user is a revert, please take a little time to read the revert article WP:3RR , ta. Off2riorob (talk) 13:06, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am not in a 3RR? I'm so confused.. I undid my own edit because I thought a sentence didn't make sense then I realized it was right the way it was so I undid it. A8UDI talk 14:02, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's just a friendly note, as you were involved there. Off2riorob (talk) 14:33, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate the warning then, but I'm anal on stuff like that, I hate getting in trouble. :) A8UDI talk 14:36, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, your not in any trouble..just that there is clearly issues on the article and I saw you had a few reverts so I left you a note , more in the spirit of fair play than anythng else, as I noted the two other involved editors. I think I missed your self reverting though which of course is not reverting. Off2riorob (talk) 14:41, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting cannabis smoking edits

How much time did you spend actually reviewing the dozen or so edits before pushing the all/nothing button? How about doing it the hard way and going over the diffs, then you may see fit to restore the ones that aren't so bad, satisfying yourself that you were right about the others?Tokerdesigner (talk) 22:30, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. I actually always do review the diffs before I edit, undo or rollback another editor's work. If you can provide a link to the diff, I'd be more than happy to apologize or explain my rationale. Thanks, Tom A8UDI talk 23:50, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok,

  1. "combusting the flowers" doesn't make sense in English; whereas when one says "the combustion of flowers" promotes the notion that they don't normally combust; it's cognitively done by the individual.
  2. As far I know (and I may well be wrong here) but as far as I know, to make hashish, the sifted trichomes must be baked to harden; so "can be baked" makes it sound optional, and without a reference, looks like you're giving directions.
  3. you keep promoting "screened" pipes and then using a WikiHow reference, The English Wikipedia is not a how to. So I thought that edit should be reverted as well
  4. That maximize edit didn't have to changed so regarding that single edit, was better your way.
  5. Undue weight given in the "Guide to smoking pot in New Zealand" edit; doesn't promote a world wide view. (I'll delete that now actually seeing how you just moved it to the top of the paragraph but it's completely random)
  6. The last 2 edits I'll change back.

But all in all, I don't understand why you keep saying "screened" pipe or whatever, it serves no usefulness to overall article. A8UDI talk 00:18, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why screening info

putting info about "screened" bowls (vs a regular pipe; like it makes any difference) and then using a "How-to" reference as its source?

In case I previously didn't make this understood, (a) screening makes it possible to use sifted herb, or (even finer-sifted) kief, without "shooters" getting drawn in to clog the channel, and (b) a narrower crater (or bowl; unfortunately the word "bowl" creates a gratuitous presumption of bigness as in rus. "bolshoi" = "big") enables lower-temperature burning by reducing air intake-- so users in pursuit of "getting all the smoke" don't overdraw causing higher temperatures, destroying thc, and causing health problems due to smoking more material and getting more heatshock, CO and other toxins. Health issues like these are WP:NOTABLE enough to merit mentioning in WP.

(c) The wikiHow reference provides (1) proof that crater screening is possible, (2) a diagram showing the shape of an effective secure screening system.

Lack of screening causes many users to ignorantly jam clumps of unsifted herb in a large pipe or "joint" ("giant" as in overdose) and, by sucking hard (see above) cause effects blamed wrongly on the cannabis and, if tobacco is added, addiction to nicotine, adding to the 6,000,000/year death count.Tokerdesigner (talk) 00:06, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is a difference between noting something and promoting something. Yes, that is all notable, but not for every single pipe reference or occurance and that reference doesn't even tell you anythign about health effects; it's a "how to make a screened pipe from everyday objects" Give me a break. A8UDI talk 00:21, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I should also remove reference 4 & 5 but I suppose, in the context of that sentence, they're okay. A8UDI talk 00:32, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Concerning referencing the talk page, it contains a diagram which clarifies what is meant by statements mentioning a non-overdose smoking option. (For some how-to info which has been on that talk page for months, I offer no apology. Anyone who doesn't make an effort to instruct users drawn by the "Cannabis smoking" title is accessory to genocide (6-mil./yr.).) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tokerdesigner (talkcontribs) 01:17, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A talk page isn't a reference... ever. A8UDI talk 01:30, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, before we get into an edit battle, just wanted to explain. When I saw the section stating that there are more dispensaries in California that all the Starbucks, etc. combined, it reminded me of a lot of op-ed articles out right now that are very negative towards medical cannabis legalization, which is POV.

I think it could be stated differently so as not to seem like an op-ed, but just a statement of fact. It also strikes me as tacked on to the end, not a smooth edit. Thanks for your time 68.13.178.225 (talk) 05:39, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't agree more but you deleted it, not revised it. A8UDI talk 12:47, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Laziness on my part, I will revise, thank you for the help. 68.13.178.225 (talk) 23:10, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No problem; and if you'd like input or help/advice or an opinion I'm only a click away! A8UDI talk 01:57, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated. I guess my problem with fixing the piece is that I am not convinced dispensaries are a big part of the Medical Cannabis issue. Maybe for those in the California, yes, but overall, I just don't know how important it is. When thinking about it, I doubt the number of alcohol 'dispensaries' or Walgreen's (drug dispensaries) would ever be mentioned in comparison to Starbucks, at least not in an encyclopedic context. So I still feel like deleting the segment. IT still seems like POV is enough of a reason to remove it. Thank again for your thoughts! 68.13.178.225 (talk) 17:30, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's certainly an excellent point to make; but I feel like it should be noted because 1. it's technically an illegal substance and while we can debate how little or harmful it really is, it doesn't matter because it's illegal and 2. it doesn't have to be a POV if it is worded appropriate and if it's a pure fact, there is no POV when both sides are given. A8UDI talk 17:35, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Got it 68.13.178.225 (talk) 17:44, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your interest in the MoS. However, I've reverted your recent edit there, because it's inconsistent with the long-established rules at MoS. 1. Edits like this [blunt nicotine warning] aren't appropriate. At the bare minimum, that requires a good reference. Would you have suggested using the ref from a succeeding paragraph on "mixing with (tobacco and) other herbs", the Australian study?

I would have suggested that it not be there w/o a reference, even though I doubt that edit wasn't far off... but that doesnt matter. A8UDI talk 00:57, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2. Moot, because Altenmann subsequently deleted the entire "blunt" paragraph anyway-- actually for once I agree with him.

Ok.. A8UDI talk 00:57, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

3. WP:NOTHOWTO actually says if one is looking for an instruction manual, to "try wikiHow or our sister project, wikiBooks." So after some objections from editors about including any how-to info (even though that's doubtless what almost all the readers are looking for in a google-leading article on "cannabis smoking") I adopted the device of linking to a wikiHow article which seems to me clearly endorsed by the WP:NOTHOWTO sentence!

No, A WikiHow is not a reference (and it doesnt even talk about ANY health benefits either!); and that admin who blocked you said the same so I don't know what you're talking about. 00:57, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

4. I should have put up more argument at that point, but after your objection I linked to a diagram on the talk page, which at least does not violate the injunction against the article itself sounding like a how-to.

A talk page isnt a reference; if you want to use somethign on a talk page as a reference then copy it and use it but you cant ever use a talk page as a reference. A8UDI talk 00:57, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

5. Re: talk page diagram, at risk of repeating myself-- as Daniel Burnham (famed city planner) would say, a correctly executed diagram is absolute proof that [a screened non-overdose smoking utensil] exists, or is capable of being made, though the trillion-dollar global cigarette industry would not have anyone know it. Surely after identifying yourself on your userpage as pro-cannabis, you should be interested in the idea that WP can be a major force in bringing about ecojustice (in the form of legalization) by providing the masses with maximum information on how to use harm-reduction equipment instead of cigarette paper, thus eliminating side-effects up to now falsely attributed to cannabis itself, resulting in political support for prohibition. Do you endorse the slogan "Help Wikimedia change the world!" (2008) or is that just some spouting off by a rogue fund-raising department WP:Ignore all rules?

I support an encyclopedia that is nonbiased. I am not 100% for cannabis legalization as I believe that while the drug itself isn't bad, there are many anxiety attributes that have been well-documented. I don't believe Wikipedia is designed to "change the world" by promoting one way of cannabis smoking; that's ridiculous. I do, however, support a free encyclopedia where all knowledge exists for the purpose of never losing it. I believe Wikipedia is a valuable asset for the progress of humanity. A8UDI talk 00:57, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

6. In one of your edit statements you said, "A pipe is a pie". Is that a typo for "pipe" or for "lie"? Anyway, as it stands I don't know if Rene Magritte would approve.Tokerdesigner (talk) 21:14, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi A8UDI. I remember you once said that overpopulation was an issue of great concern to you. I don’t know if you’ve had a look at the wikiarticle on the subject, but it perhaps could use your loving touch to “neutralize” it. It has had a {{POV}} tag at the top of it for almost two years now, and could use someone who has an interest in the topic making improvements to it. Alternatively, it’s possible that the article has already been made to express a neutral point of view and only needs to have the {{POV}} tag removed by a bold editor using an edit summary to that effect. But, you’d be the best judge of that. The article’s talk page (and related archives) might let you in on any debate that may be preventing a neutral point of view from emerging. — SpikeToronto 17:19, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Probably put there by the same people who say the global warming article has a "POV" ie- they don't like it. A8UDI talk 17:42, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I won’t touch a global warming article with a ten-foot pole! There was recently created an article that purported to be about a particular organisation, but which was really about a protocol that the organisation supported, and not the organisation at all. (See WP:COATRACK.) Plus, at the time I was dealing with it, only one of over 15 references actually dealt with the organisation, while all the others dealt with the protocol. When several of us pointed out that an article must be about what it’s entitled and that the references have to follow WP:V, WP:RS, and WP:CITE (not to mention, WP:REFBEGIN), we were labelled “climate-change deniers”! We were told that the mission of the org was so important that Wikipedia’s rules should be placed in abeyance for it. Now I agree that the protocol that the org exists to support is important, but all they had to do was change the name of the article, or merge it with another related article, and there would have been no problem. Anyway, they called us rule-enforcers “climate-change deniers” and began placing ad hominem diatribes against us on any user’s talk page they could find connected to the topic. One admin was even threatened with being taken before ArbCom to have his privileges revoked! Last I checked, that admin was still fighting the good fight (alas, sometimes to the exclusion of his other duties). So, they won: I took the article off my watchlist (I won’t even touch it if it appears in my Huggle screen!); got in my twin-turbo, nine miles-per-gallon HumVee; and rode off into the sunset … towards Alaska! Climate-change denier indeed!!

Anyway, are you interested in at least taking a look at the Overpopulation article? At minimum, if you think that it has a neutral point of view, you could remove the {{POV}} tag and state your reasons in your edit summary. It’s not an area where I would feel competent to determine whether its point of view is neutral; you would be better able to make that determination. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 19:12, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sweety, you might want to take a look at my contribs. I removed it almost as soon as you sent the message and skimmed the article. No POV. Ya, I won't touch the global warming article either... I'd hate to be all over that one; yuck what a mess.. that and evolution. A8UDI talk 19:16, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I didn’t check your contribs because, since your response did not mention anything about dealing with the arcticle, I inferred that you had not got to it yet. Also, between your change to the article and my seeing your reponse here, there are a lot of intervening contribs, 1½ hours worth!

As for evolution, if G-d had meant us to be descended from apes he would have made us hairier! Oh wait … he did … they’re called bears and can often be seen in their natural habitat wearing assless chaps! :) — SpikeToronto 19:45, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, hello there and Welcome to Wikipedia! I'd advise you to (1) read (or at least skim) WP:Manual of style - overview of how to write a good article here on Wikipedia; covers grammar and basic stuff. (2) You may always add any section as long as you can cite your references and do not include any original research. If you have any problems or questions, you're more than welcome to ask here. Thank you! A8UDI talk 19:21, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You know, I saw this word, Gravitronix, and wondered, “What the heck’s a ‘Gravitronix’?” So, I went to the article to take a look, and lo and behold, it’s a videogame! I thought it was going to be some Star Trek thing come to life. Anyway, A8UDI you were right to revert the edit because it runs afoul of WP:COPYVIO. It is almost a direct cut-and-paste from a newspaper article available online from the newspaper’s website.

However, the material in that article is very interesting as it presents an informative, historical background to the game’s development. The thing to do Justconcentrate, is to paraphrase the main points of the article (but not too closely: See WP:PARAPHRASE), and pepper your writing with direct, attributed quotes from the article.

Also, be sure to enter the citation fully. You cannot enter only the Internet address of the article (i.e., the URL). Thus, you would enter this citation as follows:

<ref>Dumont, Rick. “[http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091025/GJNEWS_01/710259904 Yes Wii can: Dover studio makes Nintendo game],” ''[[Foster’s Daily Democrat]]''. October 25, 2009. ''(Retrieved 2009-10-26.)''</ref>

which would produce:

Dumont, Rick. "Yes Wii can: Dover studio makes Nintendo game," Foster’s Daily Democrat. October 25, 2009. (Retrieved 2009-10-26.)

I think that the Gravitronix wikiarticle would benefit from the addition of the information contained in that newspaper article. However, as A8UDI said, it has to be added as per Wikipedia policies: See WP:V, WP:RS, WP:CITE, WP:REFBEGIN, and especially WP:MOS. Also, look to the Welcome message that A8UDI put on your page for further guidance as to how to do contribute to Wikipedia.

It was terrific Justconcentrate that you found that newspaper article with all that info, but it has to be added to Wikipedia in strict compliance with the rules and guidelines. That’s why A8UDI had to act as he, quite properly, did. — SpikeToronto 20:57, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{TL}}

Hey A8UDI. You asked me sometime ago to explain how to use the template, {{TL}}. I only just remembered to do so. Sorry for the delay.

It’s very simple, and you use it whenever you want to direct someone to a particular template such as {{Cn}}. It is very easy to use. Just type it like this:

{{tl|example}}

Substitute for the word, example, whatever template you want to refer someone to. Thus, if you want to refer someone to the {{Fact}} template, you would type:

{{tl|Fact}}

which results in this:

{{Fact}}

By using {{TL}} you get the template’s name in squiggly brackets (braces) with a hypertexted link to the actual template. It’s also significantly less typing than using the <nowiki></nowiki> tags. Using those you have to type:

<nowiki>{{Fact}}</nowiki>

which is a lot more keystrokes and does not produce a hypertexted link to the template.

Hope that helps! — SpikeToronto 20:07, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whitmire, SC

I have bad habit of editing without logging in...sorry. "Whitmire, South Carolina" does not belong on the "List of cities in South Carolina." It's not a city; it's a town, and there is a separate list for that. Someone (who didn't even know how to edit properly) took the liberty of adding "Whitmire, South Carolina" to the list of cities, so I got rid of it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rcharlesholmes (talkcontribs) 19:44, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, thank you for your message.

Hi, it is difficult to try to make an english version of the original portuguese page

There is certainly NO conflict of interest intended, just to get an english version done in the correct as possible way. Which is not so easy as we are not very good with English.

All the references are correct Etc.

Please assist ?????????

thank you

Is there an issue in a fan club translating an entry from 1 language to another ? many artists fan clubs , even the , the artists do this

Well translating alone isn't a problem. I'd be more than happy to proofread the article for grammatical errors and any undue weight on a subject; but glancing at the portuguese article, it appears fine. I shouldn't be jumping the gun here, but when writing the article, just remember to write it from a neutral point of view, that's all =] A8UDI talk 12:51, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Life imprisonment in Sweden

Hi! I saw that you recently removed my changes on the Life inprisonment entry: http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Life_imprisonment&action=historysubmit&diff=322391441&oldid=322391406 My changes are correct, as can be seen if reading e.g. the Swedish entry. There is indeed a 10 year minimum before applying for pardon, the crimes I listed are the ones that you can get life inprisonment for, and a few years ago the appeal for pardon process was changed so that it is no longer the government that makes these decisions, but the Court of Örebro (Örebro Tingsrätt), as this court is located near the jail which holds all/most of the life convicts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.9.165.183 (talk) 08:04, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

X0X9/Rock5410 sock case

Hey--I was in the middle of submitting a request under the sockmaster, Rock5410, when I saw yours. Aren't all of these supposed to go through the master account? WeisheitSuchen (talk) 13:37, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No idea; just used the lovely Twinkle device to report. An indefinitely blocked user is indefinitely blocked; if they make a new account then they'll be blocked. A8UDI 13:40, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No argument that he should be blocked. However, his response to blocking is always to create a new account; this is #6 since July. I'd been hoping that I could break the cycle by talking to him. But he's been busy on IP addresses since then, so he still hasn't gotten the message that he needs to either get himself unblocked or stop editing. No idea what to do with this guy; this has been going on since June and he's still doing dozens of edits a day. WeisheitSuchen (talk) 13:45, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wow, then please include that in the sockpuppetry case and with your evidence. Have you reported this before? A8UDI 13:46, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it was reported previously. I have a feeling that changing the archived version isn't actually the correct path to get things done; that doesn't actually put it on the list of things for an admin to review. This is why it's supposed to go through the sockmaster though, instead of separate investigations under the name of each sock. You can see my new request here, which links to the archived complaint. Since I already submitted a new request, do you want to undo your changes to the archived version? I don't want to confuse things if an admin goes to look at the archive and thinks X0X9 was already taken care of in the last round. WeisheitSuchen (talk) 14:12, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes, please undo mine...thank you for correcting my sock case complaint.. as you can see, I've never used that function before :P A8UDI 14:15, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello A8UDI, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (Dying hole) under a criterion different from the one your provided, which was inappropriate or incorrect. Hi Tom, I'm sorry you were unhappy at my entry of Swuggle. I am new to the site and after discussing the term with my girlfriend decided to enter it. I checked to see if there are similar entries and seen there was "huggle" and "fuggle" so presumed it would be ok. I was also going to add a second defention I'd come across:(swuggle - 1 definition - verb - to drink excessively, especially cheap domestic beer inside of low class bars or in outdoor urban locations), not the most classy of defentions I must admit. If you can advise me on entering it properly then please email me.

Hi there, I think WP:NOT would help clarify things. Even if swuggle was an actual word, Wikipedia is not a dictionary; unless it had some meaningful significance; like a company would for example. Those links on the welcome message, such as the 5 pillars of Wikipedia may help you too. A8UDI 23:56, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there A8UDI. I want to inform you that you were unwittingly part of an experiment of newbie treatment in which I participated under a different name. The purpose of WP:NEWT is to determine how experienced users would be treated if they were new users and created sub-standard but viable articles. You can find a recollection of my experience at WP:NEWT#SoWhy's experience in case you are interested. Last but not least I want to apologize for having used your time in this way, diverting it from real work on the encyclopedia. If I can offer my time and services for anything you need in return, feel free to ask at any time. Regards SoWhy 08:28, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey at least I passed! Actually I do have a tiny problem: if you could tell me if the user in the above section (this) if he has any reasoning for his "personal attacks"; when in reality he has a long history of POV pushing in all Republican/conservative related & Fox News Articles. I feel like I can't reason with him sanely so I must use stronger language to get the point across, but I dontthink that constitutes a personal attack, as much as he'd love to silence his critics. A recent discussion on Talk:Fox News Channel#bias lead to the above diff link comment. And for the record, no one agreed with his "interpretation" of a poll discussed in that section. I'd also like to point out he has been on ANI numerous times and on ANI/pov noticeboard? something like that. I'd like to work on the FNC page but anyone that edits FNC that put anything remotely "biased" he takes down and makes ridiculous claims that no one understands: he's a known POV pusher. Thanks. OH and can I getta name, SoWhy? A8UDI 11:13, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would not say it's a personal attack but it's unnecessary nonethelesss. You disagree with him, fine. So does the majority of users? Even better for you. But calling someone a "POV pusher" and their arguments "stupid" in an edit summary is not helping. Such people will (as the above section on your talk page illustrates rather perfectly) not "get the point" if you use such language, they will rather feel attacked and thus be less likely to listen to your arguments. I have found in my time here that it's always the best if you stay civil and neutral at all times and never ever comment on another user directly, no matter how much they annoy you. Don't call someone a "POV pusher", rather comment that you think the tag was misplaced. Don't call their arguments "stupid", rather point out that they are not consistent with policy. Comments in written form tend to be easily misunderstood because no one can know how you meant them and it's best to try and avoid any misunderstandings from the beginning. If someone is disruptive, then we have mechanisms in place to deal with them. But there is no need to do so in edit summaries. PS: Could you explain what you mean with your last comment "OH and can I getta name, SoWhy?"? Regards SoWhy 11:28, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

IPs blanking their talk page..

Hey, did you warn this IP for blanking their talk page? IPs are allowed to do so, provided they don't remove (active) blocks or whois/sharedip notices. In any case, it's sort of nice when they do so because we know they've seen the warnings. tedder (talk) 20:20, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh no, I'm aware of that. I was referring to Antonio Pigafetta. Even though he blanked it once, he vandalized it enough times for a level 4 warning. (Probably should have used the vandalism level 4 warning though). A8UDI 20:22, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, no problem. Obviously didn't mean to DTTR or anything, but the timing and lack of article pointer made me wonder. No worries, carry on :-) tedder (talk) 20:24, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Appreciate the look out though Tedder =) A8UDI 20:25, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: November 2009

Hey, thanks for telling me about assuming good faith on Bigger. Normally, I wouldn't have used all caps, but that user has been doing that on a lot of the pages that I watch. He has been asked not to put links to the dates by other users, as well as me, not to do it. So, I just figured that the caps might help. Cougars2012 (talk) 18:50, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, given that he has been sufficiently warned and assuming that he has read it, if all he's doing is putting [[]] around dates, it's really not a big deal... it's not vandalism so it's one of those things that you just need to brush off and say 'whatever'... one thing about Wikipedia Ive learned is that you can't always have your way. Using all caps in an edit summary, however, will not help you out though... I can promise you that. A8UDI 20:13, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Banging our Heads Against a Wall

I am not sure how much good a warning to that IP will do. It is already blocked and in edits removed by other editors has promised to continue vandalizing on return. I think the only way to stop the posting of such material is to semi-protect their talk page, but, I believe that is generally not done. DSRH |talk 19:06, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An admin can block him/her from editing their own talk page. A8UDI 19:06, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like they have stopped for now. If I have that talk page watch listed. If they come back I will see if I can get an Admin for assistance. DSRH |talk 19:09, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
okie doke. A8UDI 19:10, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
