Adam Woodyatt
Hello - you send me a message re Adam Woodyatt and removed my reference to him going to school in Llanidloes. (a) that has been Adam's Twitter page for a long time (I've been on Twitter since 2006). (b) I went to the same school as Adam. I know this information to be correct and it is common knowledge locally. Likewise I could tell you were his father lived/when he died. (c) I do not see the other schools he attended as referenced. Whatever. Doesn't matter to me. People like you actually curb information, not enhance it. Bye. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gretauk (talk • contribs) 21:17, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
- Twitter still doesn't count as a reliable source though. Please read WP:RS to see what does count as a reliable source to cite in articles--5 albert square (talk) 21:21, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
I have now read this:
"Self-published or questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, especially in articles about themselves, without the requirement that they be published experts in the field, so long as:
the material is not unduly self-serving; the material does not involve claims about third parties (such as people, organizations, or other entities); the material does not involve claims about events not directly related to the subject; there is no reasonable doubt as to the authenticity and source of the material; the article is not based primarily on such sources.
These requirements also apply to pages from social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook."
That rule does NOT exclude people using Twitter as a source. It says it cannot be self serving, doubt etc. Adam's Twitter account is linked form http://www.adamwoodyatt.com/ - this is his website.
Do you have a source for his other education information too? I do not see that sourced, so why not take it down? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gretauk (talk • contribs) 23:55, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
- It was sourced before, no idea who removed it. Anyway I've now re-added it and I've found a much better source for your claim as well, a source that is accepted by Wikipedia's reliable source rule - the BBC. --5 albert square (talk) 01:08, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind suggestion
Hi there! Thank you. I understand the technical limitations of ClueBot. But that is fine and even with those limitations, I am very impressed on ClueBot's smart performance. :)
As for the case I was referring, I myself shall keep a good watch and if seemed really necessary, I will get back to you again. For now, I would like to consider his edits more as the early mischief of a user who is ignorant on how wp functions than deliberate and widespread aggressive vandalism.
Happy editing and 'admin'ing. Good day! ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 23:42, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
- You're welcome, and on behalf of ClueBot NG, thank you for the comments about it's performance. I actually help work the false positive reporting for ClueBot so I'll be sure to pass your comments on to it's operators in the morning. Thank you also for assuming good faith about the IPs edits. Like I say though if the edits do become vandalism then report the IP to WP:AIV.
- Thanks again and happy editing!--5 albert square (talk) 01:14, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

- The version I restored - just - that is the one I worked on. That is the good one, the other you merged and kept most info - was the one that needed to go. It was slapped stub and sourcing tags and with factual errors that I found sources to say otherwise. I wrote about the illness in the good one - that was not present in the other one. - Ah ok, sorry for the confusion. I don't know much about the actor, apart from him being in The Bill and having cancer, remember hearing that on the news. Only Bill actors I really follow now are Alex Walkinshaw and Sam Callis.

I watch Hollyoaks at 7pm on E4.. but I wanna watch more Emmerdale, so I can watch that on +1 - I started doing it the other day and now they have moved EE's omnibus from a perfectly easy timeslot to catch! As you declined a G7 speedy, I think you should be the one explaining to the author why the article must stay. I did say that G7 was the only deletion criterion, speedy or otherwise, that was even remotely applicable, but I'm not sure this user will understand. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 02:02, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Question
Hello there,
Just wondering what the problem is with the article I created Andrew Listermann and why it will not show up on when I search for it in the wikipedia search bar. Could you offer any advice as to what I can do to solve this problem so I can get this article published on Wikipedia?
Thanks!
Kanvaripour1989 (talk) 01:37, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, from what I can see it was deleted for being too promotional. I would suggest creating it in your user space first of all and then requesting an admin to move it to a main stream article once you think it is notable enough for Wikipedia.--5 albert square (talk) 14:02, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
The Lapis Press
Hello 5 Albert Square, A page I worked on was deleted for copyright infringement, but I own the copyright in question. The site is www.lapispress.com and the wiki page is The Lapis Press. How can I reverse its deletion? What information is needed to prove my ownership of the content? Please advise. Thank you! Presslapiswiki (talk) 19:33, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, I suggest that you read Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), Wikipedia:Copyrights and Wikipedia:Copyright Violations, they should explain a lot more.--5 albert square (talk) 13:47, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
Could you please take a look at this?
I think this should be RevDel'd, and the edit before that probably too, even though it is less severe (in my eyes - up until today I had never heard of this dialect so it may be just as bad as the other one) - or am I overly sensitive? Thanks in advance. --Six words (talk) 23:18, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

could you look
I noticed that you had done the WKVE protection. Could you have a look here. If you're more familiar with the issues, then I'd defer to your judgement. I haven't researched it. Thanks — Ched : ? 02:24, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

- Hello. Sorry about that. Due to a post I woke up to this morning (East Coast USA) I did a revDelete to the thread. Greatly appreciated. — Ched : ? 20:39, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Delilah Dingle
So I just discovered Delilah Dingle and Del Dingle exist. How do these things happen? Lol. - JuneGloom Talk 00:14, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- If you like I can fully merge them, just tell me which one you want to be the main one :)--5 albert square (talk) 21:05, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'd suggest Delilah simply because that's the one with the one and only reference!--5 albert square (talk) 21:06, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I think the Delilah article should be redirected to the Del one, since it used to be a redirect anyway and Del was created first. That's simple enough and I can add sources once that's done. I just wondered how we ended up with two articles. - JuneGloom Talk 21:32, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

- Wonder why the IP recreated both? One is enough!--5 albert square (talk) 23:23, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

- That's done, I dunno what Emmerdale templates should be on the page though. Not one of their fans :) too loyal to 'Enders :)--5 albert square (talk) 23:44, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I think there are a few pages redirected to the Roy Glover article, since it used to be on a list. Most of the characters got moved, so Roy was left and the list was renamed Roy Glover (Emmerdale). I've kinda gone on a "Save/clean up the Emmerdale characters" spree atm. - JuneGloom Talk 23:53, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Feel free to venture into the EastEnders articles and do the same! By the way I still haven't gotten to the bottom of the suspicious editor that moved Callum Stone. J.delanoy said the IP that was being used was too dynamic for him to find out anything. I think I may probe the editor further myself and then possibly raise an SPI with Checkuser. - No way, EE has more help than all the British & Aussie soaps put together! The EE articles are looking pretty good, though the Neighbours ones are getting there. I have so much info to add to them from all these Inside Soaps Rain and I have bought. Start with the editor who added the tag and ask them why they suspected you-know-who of being a sock. - JuneGloom Talk 00:06, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

User:WhatTheWorldNeedsNow
Hi 5 albert square and sorry for my bad English! I tagged User:WhatTheWorldNeedsNow as a sockpuppet of KirkleyHigh, since it is obvious for any Wikipedian who takes time to check his contributions that it's the same person (a duck, same editing patterns and topics of interests). For my part, I did not report this because: 1) I'm very tired of reporting the multiple accounts of this user (see Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of KirkleyHigh and Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/KirkleyHigh/Archive for the full story); after being blocked, KirkleyHigh uses new IPs and accounts again and again; 2) I am no longer very active on WP; 3) English is not my native language, so it's difficult for me to clearly explain the sock puppetry. Regards, --Europe22 (talk) 13:33, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- No worries, I will look into it later once I'm back from my shopping, I might even be able to block the user myself. Thanks!--5 albert square (talk) 13:42, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

The Bill
Hi. I was hoping you could reduce the protection level of The Bill to semi protection. Full protection seems a bit overkill and it is currently the subject of a WP:GAR and full protection is preventing most editors from fixing any issues. Regards AIRcorn (talk) 23:49, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, the reason The Bill went to full protection is because it was an auto confirmed user that was vandalising that page, plus Callum Stone and Dale Smith. They were not a new user, I think they'd been on Wikipedia a number of years, I found them to be a sockpuppet though and according to the message I had on my talk page, they were a user that if blocked they simply come back and create a new account. Hence the reason for full protection, if they were to do what the message on my talk page said they always did, semi protection would not have worked. I have unprotected it fully now but I will be keeping an eye on it.--5 albert square (talk) 11:42, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

- I meant did you archive any of the sources on The Bill article manually using WebCite. Right - having looked over it, the biggest issue is the sourcing - Youtube or IMDB shouldn't really be popping up in a GA. Most of the references need formatting and there is a case of recentism to be answered. I'd pick on that non-free image too - those words could be written out and still get the same message across.Rain the 1 19:35, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

GOCE May mid-drive newsletter
Guild of Copy Editors May 2012 backlog elimination drive mid-drive newsletter
Participation: Out of 49 people signed up for this drive so far, 26 have copy-edited at least one article. It's a smaller group than last drive, but we're making good progress. If you've signed up but haven't yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: We're on track to meet our targets for the drive, largely due to the efforts of Lfstevens and the others on the leaderboard. Thanks to all. We have reduced our target group of articles—January, February, and March 2011—by over half, and it looks like we will achieve that goal. Good progress is being made on the overall backlog as well, with over 500 articles copy-edited during the drive so far. The total backlog currently sits at around 3200 articles. Hall of Fame: GOCE coordinator Diannaa was awarded a spot in the GOCE Hall of Fame this month! She has copy-edited over 1567 articles during these drives, and surpassed the 1,000,000-word mark on May 5. Hey
I'm not sure what has happened - but you have deleted the entire history of AB's sandbox - some of which was not to do with Karl Munro. Then you have merged the last version of the content - in the process you have removed all improvements made by other editors while it has been in the mainspace. You have also redirected AB's user talk page to Karl's article.
When I made the request - I requested a history merge and not a content merge. I provided you with the difference to start and end with in the merge process. You have also done the same with Vivian - and provided a history link to the redirect page - but that too has a variety of other projects that AB worked on.Rain the 1 22:47, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
- Wasn't it? Sorry I remembered it as being a content merge, must be thinking of something else. I'll undo my work.--5 albert square (talk) 22:52, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry about that - not getting on at you. Probably best to leave it now, I guess AB never requested the merge anyway.Rain the 1 23:16, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
- S'ok, if you need a history merge though I think you might be best to ask someone else, I've had a look and I'm not altogether sure on what to do, it does say if I'm not sure then not to do it. On top of that my internet keeps crashing tonight and if a history merge is mucked up then it requires a lot of work to undo. Sorry :(--5 albert square (talk) 23:23, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors May 2012 backlog elimination drive wrap-up
Participation: Out of 54 people who signed up this drive, 32 copy-edited at least one article. Last drive's superstar, Lfstevens, again stood out, topping the leader board in all three categories and copy-editing over 700 articles. Thanks to all who participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Progress report: We were once again successful in our primary goal—removing the oldest three months from the backlog—while removing 1166 articles from the queue, the second-most in our history. The total backlog currently sits at around 2600 articles, down from 8323 when we started out just over two years ago. Coodinator election: The six-month term for our third tranche of Guild coordinators will be expiring at the end of June. We will be accepting nominations for the fourth tranche of coordinators, who will also serve a six-month term. Nominations will open starting on June 5. Electronic Digital Ballast
Hi 5 albert square,
I have just received a notification that the article I have recently submitted (Electronic Digital Ballast) was rejected on the basis that there was a similar article written. I am writing to you to dispute this on the basis that I am writing about different technology and it is more specific towards people who wish to learn about electronic digital ballasts which are geared towards High Intensity Discharge lighting. Also I have included as subtopics sections which help people decide how to compare different products on the market based on few criteria which are pertinent to users of this new technology.
Thank you for your consideration

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their July 2012 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on July 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on July 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to eliminate the articles tagged in April, May and June 2011 from the queue and to complete all requests placed before the end of June. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 6 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in April–June 2011", and "Longest article". Thanks for your comments as well, it was a good friend that died last week, only aged in his early 30s, doing ok so far but did get a little upset at work today when I was passed a customers case that he'd been dealing with right before he died :( Your comment has cheered me up immensely though, thanks! :D--5 albert square (talk) 23:37, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

- Doubt it. That'd be "Scottish Isles" and "South Scottish Isles". FWIW my cousin in Musselburgh (my Scots grandfather was from Edinburgh) has met absolutely nobody who wants independence. I'll just keep taking my line from the Sunday Post, which you can actually get here in the wilds of Yorkshire. As for significant losses, I know where you're coming from. I lost a friend (probably my best friend ever) to a stroke when she was 29. That's a helluva lot of years ago. You never do stop missing them but the keen-ness of the pain does mellow. Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)
Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:
- Link to Survey (should take between 5-10 minutes): http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/N8FQ6MM
It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.
At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).
Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.
If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:05, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Request for help regarding filter log
Hello!
Although I have made occasional edits for the past few years, I have just recently created an account on Wikipedia. Therefore, much of this is pretty new to me. About 6 days ago, I had an edit filter block one of my prospective edits. I created a false-positive report, but no one has commented on whether I did something wrong or if it will be fixed or not. I was unsure who to write to, but since you seem to have made a number of recent comments on the page (and seem to have much experience regarding vandalism) I figured I'd write you. I apologize if the correct action to take is to just keep being patient, but I was unsure if perhaps mine was somehow skipped over, considering that all the others have been responded to, but mine hasn't. I hope you can help, and (once again) I hope I'm not imposing myself.
Riffraff913 (talk) 05:53, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, I'm afraid I don't know what could have set the filter off then as I can't see anything wrong with the edits. I'm afraid it looks as if you're going to have to wait for someone else to respond on the edit filters page. Sorry.--5 albert square (talk) 21:41, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

hello,
My name is patrick maher and I live in Canada. I was searching Wiki for any info on my high school, St. Patrick's High School (Quebec City). My search result ended with a page which states that you, 5 Albert Square, deleted the article last year.
I am wondering, what were the grounds for the deletion?
I am not a Wiki contributor, nor have I ever moderated on this type of thing. I only find it curious that the page existed and now it does not exist.
I would like to know why it was removed.
Thank you

- Hello, I have removed your email address for security reasons. From what I can see it was deleted because the page contained only 1 link, there was no content that I could save at all.--5 albert square (talk) 23:14, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Hi - I see you have removed a recent edit. Can you do the same with this one? Cheers. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 04:26, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Participation: Out of 45 people who signed up this drive, 31 have copy-edited at least one article. Lfstevens continues to carry most of the weight, having edited 360 articles and over a quarter of a million words already. Thanks to all who have participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, will be available early in August here. The total backlog currently sits at under 2400 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We are just two articles away from completing all requests made before July 2012 (both are in progress). Copy Edit of the Month: Starting in August, you'll be able to submit your best copy-editing work for palaver, praise, and prizes. See here for details. – Your drive coordinators: Stfg, Allens, and Torchiest. To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list. Your input
would be most welcome here - Talk:List of Neighbours characters#Durations. Myself and Rain are in agreement, but I think we could do with one more voice. - JuneGloom Talk 22:05, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:KEVIN WEBSTER CS.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:KEVIN WEBSTER CS.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:14, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
- Actually Bot, that was vandalism on Kevin Webster's page because someone removed the file and re-named him John Notman!!--5 albert square (talk) 22:46, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
