User:PC78/A-Class/list
Note: When counting WikiProjects I've generally gone by those with individual WikiProject banners, so any subordinate projects or task forces are not listed. Year of A-Class assessment is given in parenthesis with any other WikiProjects using the same assessment.
WikiProject Military history accounts for the majority of A-Class assessments and is well known to be highly active in this regard; see Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/A-Class review for details. Further examination is unnecessary except to note that the following reviews have been "adopted" from other WikiProjects:

Only the last two of these remain valid as the others are now Featured Articles.
After WikiProject Military history, the largest number of A-Class articles comes from WikiProject Tropical cyclones. The project's assessment subpage indicates that articles should go through an A-Class review process; some reviews are archived or are discussed on article talk pages; some assessments appear to have been discussed on IRC. Two promotions this year indicate that this process is still active. All but two of these articles are also Good Articles.
WikiProject Highways / WikiProject Australian Roads / WikiProject Canada Roads / WikiProject U.S. Roads
[edit]These related WikiProjects make up the next largest block of A-Class articles. An active review department is maintained at Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways/Assessment/A-Class Review. All of these articles also appear to be Good Articles.
No formal A-Class review procedure, however the articles were all promoted to A-Class in 2015 on the basis that they were "updated by an external expert under a dual publication model". The former has a rough assesment scale (with "A" placed below "GA") while the latter project appears to be inactive and seems to lack any specific guidelines for article assessment. None of these articles are Good Articles.

No A-Class reviews, the project does not even appear to have an assessment subpage and the banner links only to the standard grading scheme. All rated A-Class by the same user, but with respect none of these articles are up to the required standard; other projects rate the same articles between Stub- and C-Class.

Some of these were orignially rated A-Class by the parent project WikiProject Chemistry. No reviews but all are either Good Articles or Featured Articles; the project has a custom grading scheme that omits GA- and FA-Class, however the project banner supports both and other articles are assessed as such so some clarity needed here.

A freeze on promotions to A-Class has been in place for WikiProject Biography since 2008 due to a shortage of reviewers and there doesn't seem to have been much discussion about it since. The following assessments predate the freeze, a handful of subsequent unreviewed promotions are listed in the "other" section below. Most other A-Class assessments appear to come from WikiProject Military history.

The project's assessment page only has generic information with no specific instruction regarding A-Class. All articles promoted by the same user with no review; none are Good Articles, although one is currently a GAC.

The project's assessment page offers no specific guidelines for A-Class and refers only to the standard grading scheme. No evidence of any A-Class reviews; all articles were promoted by the same user and all are also Good Articles.

WikiProject Video games stopped using A-Class in 2015, however this project appears to be the origin of six A-Class assessments used by other WikiProjects.

No A-Class review process and the project's "article grading" subpage strangely lacks a quality scale. Five articles were rated A-Class by a single user in 2013, but with respect none of these are A-Class quality. Update: All articles have now been reassessed.

WikiProject Aviation have two A-Class assessments that are unique to the project, and another two that have been adopted by WikiProject Military history; all other A-Class assessments appear to come from WikiProject Military history directly. It appears that internal A-Class reviews are not currently active; Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Peer review lists three outstanding nominations that are now five or more years old.

The WikiProject does have an A-Class review department but there doesn't appear to have been any activity since a 2009 assessment drive. No reviews for any of the following articles; none are Good Articles.

Only a generic definition of A-Class at the project's assessment page. One of these is also a Good Article and has been peer reviewed by the project; the other two do not appear to have been reviewed.

Two articles promoted from Stub to A-Class by a single user, no review for either. Wikipedia:WikiProject Animals/Assessment has only the standard grading scheme, while Wikipedia:WikiProject Marine life/Assessment is essentially blank.

No formal process for A-Class assessments, but reviews from other WikiProjects are accepted per Wikipedia:WikiProject Greece/Assessment#Quality scale. One of the following articles was rated as A-Class for this project following a brief talk page discussion.

Associated with WikiProject Tropical cyclones (see above); the former includes all A-Class assessments from that project and has a section for A-Class reviews on its assessment page, though it doesn't seem to have had much use. No reviews so far as I can tell, one is also a Good Article.

A couple of A-Class assessments that date back to 2006; the project has no assessment subpage and only refers to the standard grading scheme. Neither article has gone through any review process, though one is also a Good Article.

The review department of WikiProject Ships was marked as "inactive" in 2012. One article reviewed by the project is no longer tagged due to it apparently being out of scope, though it is still rated as A-Class by other WikiProjects; this article is also a Good Article. All other A-Class assessments appear to come from WikiProject Military history directly.

The project's assessment page contains only the standard quality scale with no specific instruction for A-Class reviews, however one article has an A-Class review archived on its talk page which appears to originate from this project.

The project's assessment page contains all the usual generic information and mentions an attempt to develop an "A-Class review program", however this has only resulted in the following assessment from 2009 which is documented on the article talk page. The article is also a Good Article.

WikiProject Composers has a custom quality scale that omits C-Class and appears to work on some kind of points-based system of assessment. Only one article promoted to A-Class with some discussion on the talk page; this article is not a Good Article.

The project's assessment page includes a informal process for A-Class reviews, though there's little evidence of it being used. Only one article has been promoted, there is some archived discussion on the talk page; the article is also a Good Article.

The project has A-Class reviews at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics/A-class rating, however the page is marked as "inactive" and appears to be unused since 2011. Only one A-Class assessment remains, this article is not a Good Article.

This project deals exclusively with project-space content and uses A-Class in a customised quality scale; see Category:A-Class Help articles. Listed here for completion.
Other
[edit]The following have been lumped together as the A-Class assessments don't appear to originate from any particular WikiProject, and/or the WikiProjects concerned do not have any specific procedure in place. Some are also Good Articles, but none seem to have been subjected to any kind of review for A-Class; some appear to be drive-by assessments and a few are demonstrably not A-Class material (Update: some of the more obvious ones have now been reassessed).
