- Overview
On 20 August 2019, AWB finds:
- 2518 categories & subcategories in Category:A-Class articles, plus a further 62 in Category:AL-Class articles (2580 in total) – Many of these are empty!
- 955 A-Class or AL-Class articles
- Only Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history have articles rated AL-Class at present; other WikiProjects that support AL-Class include Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways, Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads, Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian roads (other associated projects may have support in their banners); Wikipedia:WikiProject Conservatism/Assessment listas AL-Class and has a category but no support in the banner
- A further 6 non-article pages are rated A-Class by Wikipedia:Help Project
- 722 (76%) A-Class or AL-Class articles are also Good Articles
- 2 A-Class articles are also Featured Articles (A quirk of Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemicals/Assessment? Although their banner does support FA-Class)
- 637 (67%) A-Class or AL-Class articles fall under Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history
- 318 (33%) A-Class assessments therefore come from other WikiProjects
- Some A-Class assessments are clearly being used either as a "consolation prize" for articles that don't pass FAC, or to bypass the scrutiny of a GAR; some via scripts (Rater)
- "A is not used in WPBrazil"; "WPSONGS doesn't use A-class"
