The fulfillment of keeping knowledge freely available is what motivates me to edit, but the kindness and generosity of fellow editors has really helped me stick around.
Congratulations. You're only the 50th person to ever reach this milestone. Incidentally I was at the Reward Board recently. Your generosity in rewards there is remarkable. I hope some people take you up on your offers. Damien Linnane (talk) 01:56, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
A new editor on the right path
Well. It's been two and a half years since I welcomed you and offered to answer any questions, and about a year since you took me up on that. So I suppose that something like this is in order. There doesn't seem to be any barnstar for being a good mentee, but you're still a new editor to me, #148 on WP:WBGAN or not, so here you go.
I think you're well aware of how impressive it is what you've accomplished in a year, so I won't stroke your ego too much, but I will say that this has been just about the easiest mentorship experience someone could ask for. More importantly, it's been great to watch you grow in this time, seeing how Wikipedia's given you a space to share your interests with the world. It's also meant fewer late-night phone calls listening to you talk about coins, so truly a win-win for me.
It's easy to lose sight, amidst the heartache and the thousand natural shocks of building an encyclopedia, of the importance of what we do here. The more cynical I've become about this project and how we sometimes overstate our own righteousness, the more I understand just how much what we write about influences the way people see the world. It's not just that people go to us for their facts. It's that our facts decide what a lot of people think about. Whether we have a decently-written article on a topic might be the difference between someone ever learning or not learning that that thing exists. Relative to the size of that burden, there aren't nearly enough people in the world who are both able to create good content and willing to do so for free while conforming to our policies. I'm glad that you are one of those people, and glad to have you in my life. :) Happy editing, newbie. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe) 04:17, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
The Featured Article Medal
By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this special, very exclusive award created just for we few, we happy few, this band of brothers, who have shed sweat, tears and probably blood, in order to be able to proudly claim "I too have taken an article to Featured status". How have you not got this barnstar yet?! Article after article, GA after GA... your WikiCup submissions page speaks for itself. You are definitely deserving of this award, and Wikipedia is a better place for the articles you write & the contributions you make. —a smart kitten[meow] 18:50, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
The American Old West barnstar
For your work on Bob Bracken (settler), including getting it in the DYK section of the front page. It's nice to see more coverage of early American settlers in Eastern Washington. DJ Cane(he/him) (Talk) 18:25, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

For your excellent work on New Zealand coinage. I used to collect New Zealand coins and was rather disappointed by Wikipedia's coverage of it. My younger self thanks you so very deeply for giving him the opportunity to read something he always wished for. —Panamitsu(talk) 12:06, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for getting the article German Mission House to GA status! I enjoy reading new GA and FA articles when they get promoted, and recently saw your featured List of historic places in the Chatham Islands. I thought it was interesting that only one of the places had its own Wikipedia article, and that more attention should probably be given to it then. I'm glad today it got that attention, and that there are people like you to get these niche but interesting places promoted! A huge thanks, from North Carolina 😄 Johnson524 01:15, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for creating articles on early Republican era Chinese money like the Yuan Shikai dollar and etc. I actually have multiple Yuan Shikai dollars and I noticed that they didn't have a Wikipedia article a while before you created the article which intrigued me. Thank you for creating the article though. Alexysun (talk) 01:35, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
御拝でーびる! Thank you for your work rewriting and adding to Ryukyu-related articles. Ryukyu and Okinawa are often overlooked despite the great amount of history and culture and there are untold numbers of redlinks on Wikipedia. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. ミラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 12:32, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
