- Good work on getting this to GA. I have two updates for you:
- You may have seen that it's now scheduled for homepage exposure as the lead hook (i.e. with the photo)
- Ron Magill wanted to be kept informed when it's due to appear, so I've emailed him; I also took the opportunity to ask whether there's further reporting on the new enclosure that he wanted to share.
- I'll let you know if anything arrives, or I'll deal with it myself. Schwede66 02:46, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- Nice thanks for keeping me posted. ―Panamitsu (talk) 05:01, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

American English?
[edit]Why are you concerned about the purity of American English. We understand ourselves. Yours aye, Buaidh talk e-mail 19:34, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Huh? I've been adding the tags so someone in the future can find non-US spellings and fix them. I've also done that with New Zealand English. ―Panamitsu (talk) 22:14, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Because in the wiki search you can do something like 'HasTemplate:"Use American English" InSource:"programme"' and then you can correct the spelling errors. ―Panamitsu (talk) 22:22, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 14:19, 9 January 2025 (UTC)Edit summaries
[edit]While the templates you're adding are correct, the summaries state that you're adding the "use New Zealand English" template. It's a bit startling. Acroterion (talk) 04:01, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Huh thanks for telling me.. I don't know how that happened! Fixed now. ―Panamitsu (talk) 04:02, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- I must've either misclicked without noticing or AutoWikiBrowser has a bug because 2 minutes after this edit with the summary "American English", this edit for some reason switched to "New Zealand English". Not sure why. Thanks again for telling me. ―Panamitsu (talk) 04:07, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- No problem, I've sometimes had edit summaries do funny things if I'm not paying close attention. Acroterion (talk) 04:08, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- If you're adding these templates to thousands of articles, I'd suggest making an AWB bot and getting it approved via WP:BRFA. It drastically reduces watchlist spam, and it saves you the hassle of clicking 'save' eleventy billion times. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 00:03, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think my current method would get approved as a bot because the list sometimes has non-US articles in it so I have to watch the article titles and short descriptions. You could use negative categories in the Petscan search but there's always an exception. For example the other day I reverted my addition of the "Use American English" template to a sculpture that is in the US but was made by a British sculptor. Should that article use American or British English (ignoring MOS:RETAIN)? I think people would have a problem with that at WP:BRFA.
- P.S. Eleventy is my new favourite word. Thanks for enlighting me. ―Panamitsu (talk) 00:16, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Eleventy is considerably less than umpty though. Acroterion (talk) 00:53, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- I suppose umpty is a good name, although I prefer BIG FOOT and Sasquatch. ―Panamitsu (talk) 01:15, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

Kia ora, did you know about conference in Christchurch in May?
[edit]Kia ora, I notice that you edit a lot on New Zealand topics and I wonder if you are located in New Zealand? If so, did you know that there is a Wikipedia conference in Christchurch in May? We even have some funding available to assist people from outside Christchurch to attend (by covering their travel costs). Registrations are open here: https://events.humanitix.com/2025-wikicon-aotearoa-chch Or feel free to put any questions on my talk page. Regards, MM MurielMary (talk) 06:11, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I am in New Zealand although I won't be able to make it. ―Panamitsu (talk) 06:24, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

Ngram Viewer
[edit]Strange: The link to the Moon/the moon for Ngram Viewer that You posted does not give me two different values: it combines them and does not allow me to make the search case-sensitive. I wonder how You got the differentiated results. (Okeh, I found a trick: go to the URL code and replace "true" with "false." But there's no way could get the results using the UI.) Kdammers (talk) 05:33, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- That's really strange. When I use Ngram Viewer there is a button to the right of "English" which says "Case-Insensitive". Maybe Google is doing an A/B test of some sort? ―Panamitsu (talk) 05:39, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, the button is there on my screen, but it doesn't work. I've tried it on two computers in different buidlings and with Mozilla, Chrome and Brave. 2605:A601:F300:700:0:0:0:1F66 (talk) 00:09, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
error in dollar figure (?)
[edit]https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/The_Stargate_Project
Says, "The venture plans on investing up to $500,000 million in AI infrastructure in the United States by 2029."
Seems it should say "$500,000 billion..."
I do not have an edit option to change this. Hopefully you do.
Thanks for creating this wiki !
Andre AndreB772025 (talk) 19:02, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- Well $500,000 million is $500 billion (which is what the sources say) so it is correct, although I personally would prefer if it just said "$500 billion". The number you've provided, $500,000 billion is the same as $500 trillion which is not what the sources say. ―Panamitsu (talk) 22:30, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

You are currently making thousands of edits an hour using an automated script without as far as I can tell first obtaining consensus for adding templates to those pages, contrary to Bot policy. I would recommend seeking approval at WP:BRFA before continuing. EoRdE6(Talk) 01:56, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- EoRdE6 could you please clarify what you mean? Because I'm really confused about this message. First of all, I'm not using any automated script. I'm using Petscan and AutoWikiBrowser. And what precisely am I doing to be editing like a bot? Several other users including Ser Amantio di Nicolao and BrownHairedGirl have added these tags to articles throughout Wikipedia. ―Panamitsu (talk) 02:19, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- AWB is an automated script. See WP:AWBRULES, specifically rule 1. BrownHairedGirl was banned a year ago, that said given Ser Amantio di Nicolao's extensive history here I would trust their judgement. And that template seems to have at least been debated in the past Wikipedia_talk:Date_formattings#Should_all_articles_have_a_dmy/mdy_template? EoRdE6(Talk) 02:37, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- @EoRdE6: The tag seems perfectly fine for now, as far as I am aware; I've been adding it based on BHG's work of about three years ago, which seems to have been relatively uncontroversial (the linked discussion notwithstanding). I've been doing it for most of this month, with only one negative comment that was withdrawn after discussion. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:58, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- @EoRdE6: So can I continue adding these templates or do you still think I shouldn't? ―Panamitsu (talk) 05:31, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Due to the lack of a response after four days I am going to assume that it's a yes. ―Panamitsu (talk) 03:20, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
