A little bit about me...

My name is Lord Balin. I hail originally from the state of Connecticut, New England. I am a widower and survivor of throat cancer, I am presently retired and living in Georgia, with my Partner and Caregiver.

My nickname of "Lord Balin" comes from Balin the famous Dwarf Lord of Moria from the Lord of the Rings. I have been on Wikipedia now since November of 2005, and have contributed mostly as a Minor Editor in the form of a WikiGnome.

My many varied interests include the authors H. P. Lovecraft, and Edgar Allen Poe, plus Gothic fiction, Military history, Baking, Cooking, Reading, Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Film Noir, World War Two, all things Retro style, Vintage, and Nostalgia.

I am also very interested in Black Culture, Harlem, the Harlem renaissance, African American cinema, and Motown music of the 1970s.
