A wish for the new year
A quote from Gargantua and Pantagruel by Rabelais; it is taken from the manuscript of Jules Massenet's opera Panurge, in the composer's own hand. It is my greeting of choice for the new year, because it encourages us to live joyfully, and try not to take life too seriously...while quaffing whatever beverage we choose, naturally. This has been a challenging year, to say the least; I hope that 2021 may bring a fresh start, and better days ahead. May the new year bring you joy and peace...and many days of fruitful editing.

Hi Tsistunagiska, I just wanted briefly to thank you, however briefly, for your really helpful input here. Recent editing by Montanabw has allayed my own concerns there. Many thanks again, both to you and Montanabw. Much appreciated! 86.138.231.127 (talk) 20:15, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Although we have had our disagreements, I appreciate your reasoned inputs at numerous recent AFDs. As you correctly note, SIGCOV in multiple RS is the prime determinant of notability, not whatever we may think of the underlying reason for that SIGCOV. regards Mztourist (talk) 09:31, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

The Special Barnstar
For this. It reminded me of my own grandfather — who was also my best friend — in his twilight years. He lived alone and I would go see him at the end of day when I was in university once or twice a week. On easier days, every day of the week. We would drink tea and watch the sunset, sitting on comfortable chairs. He was fond of discussing "the market", talking about the adventures he had while traveling the world, and how we should never stop fighting for the "good" in this world. He would still look forward to adventures of the future, and they did come to him: like the time he chased off a burglar who was trying to break in; he could not walk all that well by then, but he had all the spirits (and weapons) he needed. Even when he got too old and sick to get up on his own, he was just as passionate in his heart and just as hopeful for the future as he was when he was a little younger. There was never a day when he was not a kind soul. I miss him dearly. My userpage and username are references to the two essential things he taught me — the power of hope and the importance of comfortable chairs! You brought back a lot of fond memories I have of him and I thank you for that. — The Most Comfortable Chair 17:13, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

A small sign of my appreciation of how well you handled the situation at Iván_Zarco, and this ought to be co-awarded to @Ymblanter: too; you both dealt with that with a civility and professionalism that is exemplary for ANI

Whoa, it's been 6 months since I started editing here... time goes fast, I guess :) I've been reflecting on my experience as an editor these days and remembered this back when I was still named Shadow of the Starlit Sky ..... back then I recall you giving me advice to try to stay away from noticeboards as an uninvolved user. At the time I did not understand it but after a while later I realized that although I was acting in good faith at the time I was disruptive. I've just changed a lot as an editor since that piece of advice..... 6 months ago I was borderline disruptive and NOTHEREish in my actions, and now, after 1 GA, 3 DYKs and many, many reverts of vandalism I've fundamentally changed the way I edit, thanks to your advice. Seriously, you saved my life as an editor here. I cannot thank you enough :) #prodraxis connect 17:45, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:Buster7 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

ARoseWolf has been editing since August of 2020 and has over 10000 edits. Thru the efforts of many fellow editors, Women in Red gave her the purpose of sharing (with her daughter) the stories of amazing women. Her Wikipedia goal is leaving this encyclopedia more improved, through civil collaboration, than when she came. Kindness, civility, understanding and respect are an integral part of the "Wikipedia symphonies" that she shares with others. Her view of Life speaks to her heritage and culture. She sees our individual lives as a Song and the path we walk as a Dance. She brings these beautiful embracing thoughts to her Wikipedia editing and deserves acknowledgement. Kind, diplomatic and encouraging of others. A diligent, useful contributor to Wikipedia. This nomination was seconded by User:CT55555 and User:Hamid Hassani

Thanks again for your efforts! ―Buster7  00:33, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

Your Opinion is More Important than You Think Barnstar
HELLOOOO!!! I am here to thank you! You've been kind, and respectable during the ANI dissuscion with Cookie monster and the other user (cant remember how to spell their name, lol). And I would just give you a plain ol' special Barnstar, but then I went to tell Cookiemonster something the other day (forgot what I was gonna say), but then found this [talk page thing you wrote] asking him to apologise. And then in the ANI, you told me not to apologise, and you explained out nobody outranks anyone on here. So so, for your kindness, and being a great person even when not asked to be kind, you get this special barnstar. (sorry for the wall of text)Babysharkboss2 was here!!
