@Novem Linguae, Xaosflux, and Firefangledfeathers: as you were involved in handling the last such request. Please post this soon, as the drive is already in its second day. Dhtwiki (talk) 03:41, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
 Done, thanks! Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 01:44, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Petition to WMF

[edit]

Per Wikipedia:Village pump (WMF)#Visibility, could the following be added:

In response to potential disclosures of editors’ personal information by the Wikimedia Foundation, a petition to the WMF is collecting signatures.

The wording is adapted from WP:CENT; feel free to edit, as speed is the priority right now. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 18:19, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is a petition to the WMF in response to potential disclosures of editors’ personal information by the Wikimedia Foundation.

We should lead with the primary item + link, and then give context. Cremastra (uc) 00:08, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting an extension as the open letter remains relevant and is still collecting signatures. QuicoleJR (talk) 14:40, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Done, until the end of the month — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 15:04, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@TheresNoTime: Now might be a good time to swap it out for the blackout RFC, and if that RFC fails we can swap it back in. QuicoleJR (talk) 17:41, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can we extend this until December 16th - that's the next court date, and the point at which we will likely see whether WMF has effectively protected these users PII, or if it has unambiguously disclosed it. (If I'm misunderstanding something, then please correct me). The open letter is still collecting signatures. Tazerdadog (talk) 18:23, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Usually the longest a watchlist message stays up is a week. Hasn't this one been up for around 3 weeks? –Novem Linguae (talk) 20:40, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, it has, but I think this message is not in the same vein as most other watch-list messages. Lets give it until 16th December and if we don't have decisive action (which, knowing Indian courts is unlikely), we probably won't be beating the horse. Sohom (talk) 21:37, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also don't see the need for this to continue. The horse has been beaten into oblivion at this point. voorts (talk/contributions) 22:54, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have self-reverted my commit since there doesn't seem to be a immediate consensus to extend it. Other thought are welcomed. Sohom (talk) 23:04, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A month is enough. Stephen 00:33, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

January NPP backlog drive

[edit]

Requesting a watchlist notice to run from December 25th to December 31st:

Sign up for the January New Pages Patrol backlog drive. Review articles or redirects and earn barnstars!

I'm requesting a little ahead of time because I don't want to forget to make the request. Hey man im josh (talk) 11:34, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These have always been uncontroversial in the past. Let's just put it up ourselves on December 25, lasting 7 days :) –Novem Linguae (talk) 12:12, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Question, there's a "from" parameter, couldn't this be scheduled now @Novem Linguae? Hey man im josh (talk) 16:21, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that'd probably work. It's a newer feature so I kind of forgot about it. –Novem Linguae (talk) 20:26, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
