COPY
[edit]This article is partially or entirely a copy of <<http://www.iep.utm.edu/zhangzai/>>. Please, correct that; Wikipedia doesn't like it when things that aren't own publishing (nor, possibly, public domain) are copied into Her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.35.184.178 (talk) 04:59, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
a quotation
[edit]Reflections on Things at Hand: noteworthy and beautiful, but with no place in the article so far:
Heaven is my father and earth, my mother... Therefore that which fills Heaven and earth I regard as my body and that which directs Heaven and earth as my nature. All people are my brothers and sisters, and all things are my companions. - Liu Kwang-ching, “Socioethics as Orthodoxy,” in Liu Kwang-ching, ed., Orthodoxy In Late Imperial China (Berkeley, 1990), 53-100:76.--Shanghainese.ua (talk) 07:46, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
"Zai" should be read in the (modern) 4th tone
[edit]In the name Zhang Zai, the character zài 載 must be read in the 4th (falling) tone. See for example the entry in dict.revised.moe.edu.tw ; this makes sense, because his courtesy name was Zihou 子厚, which together with his given name Zai 載 refers to the Yijing: 坤厚載物 or 地厚能載物 (obviously to be read zài) P345 (talk) 14:16, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Zhang Zai → Zhang Zai (Northern Song Dynasty) – Because Zhang Zai (Western Jin Dynasty) exists so Zhang Zai should be a disambiguation Immanuelle 💗 (please tag me) 14:44, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
- Is the other Zhang Zai discussed in the English Wikipedia? — BarrelProof (talk) 23:55, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
- If notable a DAB page could be created but it may be helpful to create the other first and later look at views though views on zh give 46 for this one v 27[[1]] for the other which isn't a major difference it does show that zh has this one as primary as well. - Oppose. Only one here as yet. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:36, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose even if there is another article created for Zhang Zai (Western Jin Dynasty) per WP:ONEOTHER (and nb WP:1OTHERPRIMARY). A hatnote would be all that is needed. — AjaxSmack 03:31, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
