Merge from Warszawa Wola railway station
[edit]On 26 May 2012, Warszawa Wola railway station was reclassified as Warszawa Zachodnia (peron/platform 8). Because there is not huge amounts of information, I propose to merge Warszawa Wola railway station here. In actual fact, we would redirect Warszawa Wola railway station here, correct the service information, add some of the photos and add a couple of sentences noting that this platform is a little way from the others and until 2012 was classified as a different station. - From a bit sentimental viewpoint and keeping the historical facts alive, I would keep Warszawa Wola article a stand-alone one. Merging Warszawa Wola to Warszawa Zachodnia will probably erase W.W. from readers' minds as an item that did exist as the independent station. That's my personal look at this issue. However, to keep all the information updated, I have already edited the Warszawa Zachodnia article in a way that it reflects both, the past and the present status of Warszawa Wola / Warszawa Zachodnia peron 8. I hope you will like it. But wiki is our common effort and if you feel like changing the articles, I won't mind. --JPFen (talk) 17:16, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- So current usage would use this article, but we'd keep the W-wa Wola article for historical purposes (like defunct stations)? I could live with that. An alternative (and I'd slightly prefer, since neither article is so big) would be to redirect the W-wa Wola article to a (W-wa Wola) section of this article. SeveroTC 21:18, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Probably your 2nd option will be a step towards forgetting the W-wa Wola station. I'd prefer keeping the article as it is now, pointing out clearly that it's a defunct station. I guess that both of us may keep this discussion forever without a decision. Hello! Is anybody wise here to help us sorting this out, please? :-) --JPFen (talk) 20:18, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I fear that in ten years time or whatever when there are different editors, if it is just a subsection of this article it could be lost very easily. As long as it's clear it's not active as a "separate" station, then I think it's fine. SeveroTC 10:14, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

The picture shows the buildings of the Coach Station, not the Train Station.
[edit]In the picture in the infobox (file: PL warsaw dworzec zachodni 003.JPG) we can see the Coach Station (or the Bus Station) called Dworzec Zachodni. Both parts of it comprise the main hall of the Coach Stn and the offices. In fact, the Warszawa Zachodnia Train Station building (with the ticket office and waiting hall) is a little lightweight structure on the other side of tracks. You may see it in the Polish Wikipedia. I propose to change the picture. It will be less representative, but more real :-). --JPFen (talk) 17:26, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- When I was standardising PL station names on en:wiki, I put this under Warszawa Zachodnia station rather than Warszawa Zachodnia railway station so that it could cover the coach station (although I concede there's nothing about it here at the moment). SeveroTC 21:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'll browse Commons to find the Train Station building picture. What's on the PL wiki, is a picture that even worsens the impression of the station building compared to what it looks like now. If I fail to find anything proper, I'll take a picture by myself and put it instead of the Coach Station. --JPFen (talk) 20:18, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- When I lived in Wa-wa, I always had the intention to take a good picture of the railway station side, if not only because the building there is - if not beautiful - nowhere near as ugly as the coach station side. But I never got around to it before I moved - and there's been some renovation now so it might look different now (I never saw the station after renovations)? SeveroTC 10:17, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
