Trivia

I like random trivia on things, but in this case it seems to confuse more than inform the reader. What does it mean that the characters are descendants from the characters in Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kaihouchō? What is Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kaihouchō? It links to the Japanese Wikipedia and unfortunately I'm not proficient enough in Japanese to be able to read what that article is about. Even Google gives no useful results. I can't imagine I'm the only reader to be confused by this trivia, so shouldn't it be explained more? [arthal] 23:25, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

A game for the PS2 which, I've heard, bears similarities to the more famous and longer standing Shin Megami Tensei series, which I've never personally played, but there you go. According to GameFAQs it should be Kaihoujyou Kefurokou, a really slight change which I don't know whether is correct, but is giving me more results regardless. There are apparently Tokyo Majin games for the Wonderswan, GBA (Fuji Houroku), which is already mentioned, and Playstation (Gehoujo, Ken Kaze Tobari, and Oboro-Kitan also. --Endsmouth 16:52, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi! I recently created a page for the Tokyo Majin Wikia and transliterated all the video game titles for the franchise list. Here is the basic story: Magami Academy is founded by Yuri Tokizusa, who created the supernatural school during the Bakumatsu to battle the demonic forces fighting the Tokugawa Shogunate, and enlists the help of students such as Tatsuto Hiyuu (Tatsuma's ancestor), Kyougo Houraiji (from Kyouichi's family tree), and Ao Misato (Aoi's ancestor). Gehou, if you've listened to the anime in original language, means "dark arts", and the cult is led by Tendou Kodzunu's forefather, Tenkai Kodzunu, watched over by none other than Munetaka Yagyuu (yes, same character!).

If you'll recall from season one, episode seven, you see flashbacks of the Magami gang and Tatsuto vs. Tenkai when Tatsuma and Tendou are fighting for the first time.

And here are the correct titles and release dates:

東京魔人學園外法帖（とうきょうまじんがくえんげほうちょう) or Tokyo Majin Gakuen Gehouchou released January 24, 2002 to PlayStation and is referred to as the Heaven's Chapter (天の章). It is set during the Edo period, and features the ancestors to the original characters in Kenpuuchou.

東京魔人學園外法帖血風録 (とうきょうまじんがくえんげほうちょうけっぷうろく) or Tokyo Majin Gakuen Gehouchou: Keppuuroku is the REMAKE of the Heaven's Chapter, Gehouchou, by Marvelous Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 platform. It came out August 12, 2004. It released with a companion book on Norse Mythology and character information.

No one ever states why ACID was exclusively chosen, but there is an interview at JaME World website where the band discusses their work on the anime, and how they chose the lyrics for those specific songs. --Hlwar (talk) 02:02, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

I was surprised to see that wasn't added. I found ANN had a full episode list for season 1, but they dropped the ball for season 2. I did watch both season(I rented them from the Library). I have found that Funimation used different titles for each episode, than what is translated from Japanese. That is why I added that section on the list.

Thanks for adding the episode list! Although you might want to cross-reference some of your romanizations. Just quickly skimming, I noticed in The Dark Arts: 菩薩眼 (Bosatsu me) should read Bosatsu-gan; 九角復興 (Kyuu kaku fukkou) should read Kodzunu fukkou as 九角 = Kodzunu. Plus Stars of Fate (not Inn of the Stars) is Shukusei (宿星) not yado boshi... I can go through it later, if you'd like? My Japanese isn't great, but a lot of the words you hear spoken in the anime. --hlwar 07:38, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Please go ahead and fix, I was going by what said on ANN. A person on there mark it as an error and it should read "Inn of the Stars". I don't know where that person got it. But the dvd titles are correct it was the to translations, I was worried about though. You see I ref the translator I used. I have search the internet for a free one. Sure, I can edit the list for you. No worries, I understand how hard it is to try and read Japanese! O_o ANN runs on fan contributions, doesn't it? That would explain why there is some unreliable info, especially with Tokyo Majin Gakuen, since there really isn't much accurate English sources available for this long-running franchise. I can only assume that person with "Inn of the Stars" was reading each kanji induvidually; 宿 can read shuku or yado meaning lodging or inn, and 星 by itself can be hoshi which means star (boshi for the stars in a constellation, more than one star). But together, correctly, is shukusei (star of fate, a zodiac) and you hear them say this word in the anime (Ryuuzan Arai says it often). For an online translator, I recommend Jim Breen's WWWJDIC. For Tokyo Majin Gakuen, I also recommend the Japanese wikipedia because a lot of times, it breaks down the kanji into kana (which makes romanization way easier). --hlwar (talk) 00:29, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

PSP Spin-off & Games

Hello! I was wondering if it's possible to have the PSP Spin-off Game section moved off of the anime's page? The latest game is not a spin-off of the anime, but more accurately it's a spin-off of the entire Tokyo Majin Gakuen Denki (franchise). It should be moved to either it's own page and listed under the franchise's category, or as a note on the franchise's wiki page. Also (and maybe someone more proficient in reading Japanese can help), I'm of the mind that Ken Kaze Tobari is a misinterpretation of the original, beginning game title. The first game was just simply still Kenpuuchou. I think everyone was confusing the kanji for Kenpuuchou (剣風帖 = けんぷうちょう) as 剣 (Ken) 風 (Kaze) 帖 (perhaps confused for 帳 strain which is Tobari). The Japanese wiki does a good job at providing hiragana spellings, and I've never seen the Ken Kaze Tobari (けんかぜとばり) used. Can anyone include reliable, Japanese-literate sources for where Ken Kaze Tobari came from? --Hlwar (talk) 02:02, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
