Talk:The Witcher (video game series)
Appearance
Material from The Witcher was split to The Witcher (video game series) on 23:18, 28 May 2020 from this version. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted so long as the latter page exists. Please leave this template in place to link the article histories and preserve this attribution. The former page's talk page can be accessed at Talk:The Witcher. |
Since the original series
[edit]Since the original series has an article for the Netflix series, I think an article should exist for the video game series as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Osh33m (talk • contribs) 23:27, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Osh33m: I don't know an WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS argument is the best rationale for you to start this off with, as an unnecessary SIZEFORK. On top of that, you didn't even copy all of the information from the main series page, such as the new sales announcement. -- ferret (talk) 00:26, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Ferret: I think the sales milestone is the only thing that is missing, yeah? Is there anything else? --Osh33m (talk) 00:29, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
- Also missing is proper attribution to where the material came from. Since the edit history comments are now set, you'll have to use a {{Split from}} template here, but that might be a bit tricky if you didnt start with a direct copy/paste. I guess as long as the right source link is given, the destination link might not need a 100% of the material included. -2pou (talk) 06:29, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- @2pou: Almost everything here is copy paste though. It's mostly all just taken from The Witcher video games section. --Osh33m (talk) 19:18, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Osh33m: I understand. I just mean that if there is a WP:COPYWITHIN Wikipedia, you are supposed to have a reference and hyperlink to where the material was copied from per copyright/licensing requirements described in WP:ATTREQ and WP:PROPERSPLIT. The main ways to do so are: (1) Stating where it was copied from in the edit summary, (2) Use a {{Split from}} template on the Talk page, (3) Use a {{Copied}} template on the Talk page. It's too late to do (1), so one of the templates I mentioned should be added to the banner section above. -2pou (talk) 22:50, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- I have added it for you in order to properly show this page was not created here exclusively and attribute the history to where the material came from. -2pou (talk) 17:36, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
