Fair use rationale for Image:Wotw screen.gif

[edit]

Image:Wotw screen.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

1983 game

[edit]

So how do we know of the existence of the 1983 game? Was it mentioned in a magazine? 2fort5r (talk) 11:56, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed as irrelevant and possible OR.Autarch (talk) 04:03, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This article is about the 1984 game from CRL using the Jeff Wayne licence. For some reason in 2009, somebody added references but referenced entirely the wrong game and changed dates/publisher etc. The 1983 game is only known about from one small ad in a magazine. It has never been archived and probably either never actually got released or sold in tiny numbers and certainly doesn't warrant a wikipedia article. It was also apparently a space invaders type game so the rest of the article did not reference it. The 1984 adventure version was released by a well known publisher, was featured in many magazines at the time, is available on many download sites and is related to the Jeff Wayne franchise. See the link at WoS. The article does need improving and should probably be renamed.--Retro junkie (talk) 20:12, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
