A better title?

[edit]

I don't know what to change it too yet, but is there a better way to name this? I know that it is following standard practice but the generic nature of "Game Award" is throwing me for a loop, as it could apply to anything. It might be better as "The Game Awards' Award for Game of the Year". I'm just throwing this out...--Masem (t) 21:12, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't Game of the Year (The Game Awards) work? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:08, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, this title right now is what someone who might be searching for this would use first given all other individual award pages on WP. It seems needlessly redundant but it could just be a case of having to live with it. --Masem (t) 15:26, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It should at least be "The Game Award for Game of the Year", as the pages include The as well. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:57, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That definitely helps. --Masem (t) 21:01, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Moved. I'm also pretty sure that is exactly how Geoff presents it too. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:07, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aren't they also called the Game jury awards? That might make the title less repetitive. Big Boss 1111 (talk) 19:06, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, that's just the name of the collection of people/publications who help vote for the awards. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:08, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Marking of a winner

[edit]

"Winners are listed first, highlighted in yellow and boldface, and indicated with a double dagger (‡)."

Why are there four different markers for that? What does the doubledagger add which could be missed by the yellow highlight and boldface? "Winners are listed first and with yellow highlight" should already be plenty sufficient to make it obvious. 2003:C9:6715:7112:4C6C:AE01:C6F3:A50C (talk) 11:29, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The {{double-dagger}} is for accessibility; some screen readers don't identify background colours and/or boldface. This is fairly standard for other awards articles too. Rhain (he/him) 13:24, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
