Please change "Bhaskar grew up in Delhi,[9] where she did her schooling from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya[10] and subsequently studied English literature at Delhi University's Miranda House where she was classmate with another actress Minisha Lamba. She did her masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.[11][12][13]" to "Bhaskar grew up in Delhi,[9] where she did her schooling from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya[10] and subsequently studied English literature at Delhi University's Miranda House where she was classmate with another actress Minisha Lamba. Concerns regarding age

A recent video by a popular Youtube channel in which the actress starred brought a massive influx of editors to start vandalizing the birthdate which lead to the page being temporarily protected. This was because, in the video, the actress mentioned her "plan" of constantly having IP's change her birth year on Wikipedia so that her age stays a constant 28. Regardless, the three sources mentioned in the lede do not appear to be reliable enough to report the correct data (the first source is Hindustan Times but it only has information about the day and month) so would it not be wise to just remove the birthdate all together? Any input is much appreciated. Jiten talk contribs 19:53, 24 November 2017 (UTC)

Agreed with you. Her video was an invitation for others to vandalize bithdate on Wikipedia. AbhiSuryawanshi (talk) 22:21, 24 November 2017 (UTC)
I doubt this will become a long-term concern. If IP vandalism starts up once the protection expires, I'll request a year-long semi-protection. There are ECP editors doing some of the edits (and changing birth year isn't an egregious BLP concern), so I see no reason to go ECP here. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:37, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

I have removed the birthdate from the article for now. Better to provide no information than false information. Furthermore, having the birthdate up just creates a target for vandalism (this is a short term problem though) and the sources cited, as I stated earlier, aren't reliable. Keeping these points in mind, I took the decision. I've watchlisted this page so I'm fully open to a discussion. Jiten talk contribs 18:53, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Let's see.
  1. We have the Hindustan Times source, which tells us the date of birth (April 9) without year.
  2. We have this source which says that Bhaskar was 28 years old in March 2017. The article was published in DNA India, but it's actually from PTI, which, I believe, is a respectable news agency. Weird thing here is that DNA India shows only partial article, but we can use another source which has republished PTI content.
  3. This Hindustan Times article I found (published in June 2017) says that Bhaskar is "29-year-old".
  4. This Deccan Chronicle article I found (published in March 2017) says "28-year-old". The source of this article is actually PTI.
Based on #2, #3, and #4 we know that Bhaskar was born in 1988 or 1989. Based on #1 we know that 1988 must be correct. I believe this falls under "routine calculations" assuming there is a consensus that the result of calculation is obvious. If these sources are reliable – and I must add that I stopped looking for more sources after the results I presented above – we should re-add the full date of birth or at least day and month based the Hindustan Time source you removed. Politrukki (talk) 12:53, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the excellent analysis. I've looked through the sources and it looks like things are in order. The problem of reliable sources is resolved due to two additional links you've added (namely #3 and #4). As for #2, that can be replaced with this article published by The Indian Express which seems to have the full PTI published content. I've readded the birthdate along with the mentioned sources. Let me know how it looks. Jiten talk contribs 21:01, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply but I initially missed your comment and later forgot to reply. Anyway, your claim does not seem to be correct. You did not provide a specific source, but if I open https://www.justbollywood.in/swara-bhaskar/, I am redirected to http://www.cinetalkers.com/swara-bhaskar/, which says Born: 9 April 1988 Politrukki (talk) 13:33, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Pursuant to

my edit-summaries (which I guess is enough clear), I have edited out certain stuff from her reception section. Pursuant to WP:BRD and WP:BLP, please obtain a t/p consensus prior to reinserting something around the same locus. Regards, WBGconverse 15:33, 5 November 2019 (UTC)

@Winged Blades of Godric: I think you should had CE this section instead of completely blanking. Because Swara is, of course, controversial personality and main thing is she had been subject to complaint due to her abusive remarks. I will seek your guidance to have appropriate section but complete removal is not fair. I will reinstate the content and do some CE. — Harshil want to talk? 15:42, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
I am not seeing sufficient coverage in acclaimed newspapers/media organizations of repute; prima facie. Still, I'll wait for your version with sources, over here and pending an agreement, we can insert it back. WBGconverse 15:53, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
There’s enough coverage in RS like New Indian express, India Today, Zee News and many others. My version is same, identify what exactly problem you have?— Harshil want to talk? 17:56, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
It is reported in Gulf news, Internet Business times and Republic too. All of these are more than 6 reputed sources which are more than enough to write Wikipedia section. -- Harshil want to talk? 04:08, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
Here's my version. Swara faced backlash on social media for referring a child actor, who referred her as aunty, with abusive words on the chat show Son Of Abish. NGO Legal Rights Protection Forum, has filed a complaint against her with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, and demanded action against her in alleged violation of child rights. Pinging @Winged Blades of Godric: for consensus.-- Harshil want to talk? 15:37, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
Noted; replying in a few hours. WBGconverse 16:00, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
To quote from the Statesman piece:- ...When the child called her ‘aunty’, Bhasker, in her head, called the child ‘chu**ya’....she did not say the word ‘chu**ya’ on the child actor’s face but uttered it in her thoughts....
Please find a way to incorporate the vital point, emphasized by me, above. WBGconverse 13:09, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

In Public life, there is a subsection titled "child abuse". That is a misleading title (according to the Wikipedia article, "child abuse or child maltreatment is physical, sexual, and/or psychological maltreatment or neglect of a child or children, especially by a parent or a caregiver"). Also, the content of the subsection seems to contain stronger language than necessary. Kohllision (talk) 22:26, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
