@WikiPediaAid:, translations of the chinese titles don't seem to be forthcoming any time soon and in reality literal translations aren't of much use because they may not convey the intended meaning. A sourced translation would be better. Can the tags or the titles be removed?--Jac16888Talk20:02, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jac16888: This show was primarily made by Chinese animation companies for the Chinese market and it was released in China first, and there is a reliable source for where those titles were taken from. It would not be ideal to remove the Chinese episode titles based on those facts alone. Besides that, based on using Google Translate, not all of the episode titles match up with the official English titles. While some of the Google-translated Chinese titles are the same as or very similar to the official English ones, others show completely different meanings from them. Episode two is officially "Teacher's Pet" in English, but the Chinese title—as translated by Google—is "Home is the most important". Episodes three, five, and thirteen's Google-translated Chinese titles are also different from the official English ones; "Gotcha!" is supposedly "Alien Visitors", "Scrolls" is supposedly "The Power of Love", and "Monstrosity" is supposedly "I have a home". Now you and I both agree that we should never use Google translations for the article, but still these translations show that they're definitely not cases where the titles truly match up either literally or probably even figuratively. I may have come across the wrong way when I asked for literal translations instead of just general translations where their intended meanings would be better kept, but removing the Chinese episode titles altogether is not the answer to the problem.
As for sourced translations, those would be a lot harder to find right now. There are currently very few reliable sources in English overall regarding information about Stitch & Ai, and believe me, I have been looking for them. The show simply has too little coverage to really get a grasp on the whole thing, and its title doesn't help, considering that search engines may also interpret Ai's name as "AI". Most search results I've been getting that are about the show itself are from other wikis, comments and forum posts on the web, and (mostly illegal) video uploads. Maybe someone who understands Chinese could help out here with looking for Chinese sources and also provide translations, but I don't believe we're going to find any sources for translations for the time being. As long as Western and English coverage on the show continues to be minimal, we're stuck with what little sources we've got. –WPA (talk) 05:36, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
