Sources?

[edit]

As someone pointed out elsewhere, this article is in dire need of better sources to establish notability. The podcast link is broken. Sources exist, though: I found the New York Post, Makers Faire and lots of blogs, with Boing Boing maybe reliable enough to serve our purposes. More and better sources will always help, of course. The question is: How should these sources be incorporated into the article? Huon (talk) 13:44, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Best bet is to make a "Reception" section and then you can things like ' The New York Post has described it as "the must-read for all neo-Victorians and Edwardians"' and then use the same source to start a section on other activities and mention that the mag sponsors events like that. Boing Boing

[edit]

Hi. I've added a line about Boing Boing announcing every release SM has done, so as to help establish notability and demonstrate that it has been taken notice of. However, in doing so I wanted to reference these mentions. This means there's a total of five footnotes for it, which to me looks a little odd. I didn't just want to link to a search for "steampunk magazine" on their site though, so I don't see an alternative that still would clearly show them all. So, I took the action I thought to be the lesser of two evils. If someone disagrees, or has a better way, please feel free. Just wanted to clarify my motives there. Redirection

[edit]

@Andy Dingley, AfD is for deletion discussions and I don't think the article should be deleted. Why do you object to my redirection rationale? czar 17:45, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Because you're using an undiscussed blank-and-redirect as an invisible method to effectively delete an article. There's not even any discussion of Steampunk Magazine at the targeted article. There's now an AfD, your comments are welcome there. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:51, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes there is, but not by name. I had merged a Newsweek source and added a mention of the magazine. Redirection is a fine, bold option. If you have additional sourcing, now's the time to show it. AfD is the wrong venue. czar 18:06, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
