Songs of thanksgiving (pesukei dezimra) → Songs of thanksgiving – Songs of thanksgiving redirects here, so "(pesukei dezimra)" seems unnecessary, and I'm also not sure that phrase is in English? Also also, would "Songs of Thanksgiving" be more correct? -- Beland (talk) 19:44, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

- Merge. Psukei Dezimra (normally translated literally as Verses of Praise, not the more figurative Songs of Thanksgiving) is a bit of a mess on Wikipedia. There are three related articles:
- Pesukei Dezimra: The "main" article. It could be improved but covers the set of prayers relatively well. Pesukei Dezimra is also the commonname, since most other prayers on en-wiki use the transliterated Hebrew name as their article name.
- Songs of thanksgiving (pesukei dezimra): This article being discussed. It has little extra information not included in (1), and that should be summarised in (1).
- Hallel (pesukei dezimra): An article which relates the one fact that a subset of the Pesukei Dezimra is known as the weekday Hallel (Praise giving). Which fact should just be included in (1) not have its own article.
- I recommend that (2) and (3) be merged into (1). The English and weekday Hallel names can just be treated as usual in the first line of the lead.
- I'm happy to do the merge, as I have on my to do list to expand the main article anyway. Ayenaee (talk) 12:34, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

- Thanks for the ping. Will do merge in a day or so, just working on other things now. Ayenaee (talk) 07:59, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
- Merge complete. I’ll work on expanding the main article next. Ayenaee (talk) 19:33, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
