Pink lined region?
[edit]I can't quite figure out what the figure-8 shaped pink-outlined region indicates in the image (File:SE2014Oct23P.png) Not the area of totality, since it's not total anywhere. Not area of partial eclipse visibility, since (from the animation below), a partial eclipse is much more widely visible. What does it outline?
I will venture a guess that it outlines the regions from which the sun is (partially) eclipsed at sunrise (left lobe) or sunset (right lobe)-- but it would be nice to state that explicitly Geoffrey.landis (talk) 18:15, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, that's the boundary where the sun is partially above the horizon, although I don't know if that is geometrical, or visual (i.e. including atmospheric refraction). Tom Ruen (talk) 18:34, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
