Can anybody here please change Rihanna's music genres in the infobox to "PopR&Breggaehip hopdance"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:19B:8401:3BC0:4CC0:9433:A247:2E98 (talk) 03:52, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Rihanna has split with Hassan Jameel, whom she was with since 2017. There’s many sources to confirm this, could someone please add this information in her ‘personal life’ section with a reliable source please. Thank you very much. :) 2A02:C7F:B655:E400:706B:5B76:C2A3:FBEF (talk) 23:47, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

Can we not mention that they broke up because she has never confirmed so. Zeké Nel (talk) 12:08, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Second sentence in intro

The second sentence reads: "She is best known for her fashion and style and her genre fusion in her music." It's pretty obvious she is best known for her music not fashion/style, despite fashion/style now being her main focus in terms of business ventures. I suggest this sentence be rephrased to highlight music first and foremost as the foundation of her career. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.39.157 (talk) 11:42, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Good point. Have removed the sentence. – Thjarkur (talk) 12:32, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Opening to article

I don’t think that the introduction to the article needs to have as many as four paragraphs. If possible, the first two could be put into one, then a separate one her achievements and then another about other ventures; make it heavily about her businesses as well as she is being increasingly known for this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yorksjp (talkcontribs) 00:51, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

Needs a major revamp

I don’t want to be annoying but this whole article looks messy, it’s information is out of date and takes ages to be updated (see Fenty for example). I am aware that it shouldn’t be personal but it speaks about her as if she’s a robot. In terms of other musical artists at this same level, it seems quite informal at points and as if it’s being edited really slowly. I know not all of you will agree but I imagine some of you can agree that the whole article seems off. I would edit myself but I am not verified and unlikely for my points to have got across. Not criticising anybody but as a reader, I would like to put my points across. Also a click-bait site (run on WordPress) and far from a reliable source, despite its claim of "Having a team of professionals, Only-Journal.com aims to keep you updated with everything that's new and all that you are interested in and what not [sic]." Even Google doesn't come up with the site in searches for "only journal" or "only-journal". And the "article" you directly linked to is in terrible English, providing different translations(?) for presumably the same quotes. It looks like both sites cribbed their "reports" from the same source (Wetpaint?), and did it badly. Pass. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 00:37, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

I don't know why fashion designer has been removed as a career in the info box as well as the first paragraph? The source below details all the collections Rihanna has designed, which for most she also oversaw everything as the Artistic Director. Yes, this defines part of her role and she may not have singlehandedly designed every piece herself, but to omit fashion designer as a career is a clear miscommunication and doesn't align with her actual career in the fashion industry, which spans from luxury clothing to lingerie to streetwear.

edit request in Early Life section

Rihanna's father's ethnicity in incorrectly stated in early life. The sentence reads "Her mother is an Afro-Guyanese, while her father is a Barbadian of Irish descent." Her father is bi-racial or Bajan-Irish. The cited reference for this fact, the newspaper The Independent, states him as being Bajan-Irish, not a Barbadian of Irish descent. I think the writer just incorrectly worded this fact, please someone correct this when you have the chance. Thank you. Bryantlib (talk) 00:37, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

First to achieve ...?

The article currently says, "Fenty is a fashion brand by Rihanna under luxury fashion group LVMH which launched in May 2019. She is the first woman and also the first of color to achieve this." To achieve what? The preceding sentence isn't structured in a way to make this clear. If this is supposed to mean that Rihanna is the first woman to have a fashion brand that is part of LVMH, that would be incorrect. Celine (brand) was founded by Céline Vipiana and acquired by LVMH in 1996. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 22:45, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

The source in the inline citation at the end of that sentence ([1]) says: She will become the first woman of colour to lead a house under the LVMH brand, and the first woman to create an original brand for the group. Armadillopteryx 02:29, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
Okay, I've changed the sentence to correspond to that. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 16:11, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

I have notice a number of errors on Rihanna’s Wikipedia page, therefore I request to correct those errors. Those errors would be her music career debut, her early life and her net worth.

Rihanna started her career in 2005, she has sold 335 million records in the US and America alone. Her father is a Irish of Bajan,English and Scottish descent. Rihanna was reported to be worth $1.7 billion in 2020, $300 million coming from her music and $1.4 billion from her make-up line Fenty Beauty, which was worth $2.8 billion at that time and now estimated to be worth $4.2 billion. She also own 31% of her lingerie line Savage X Fenty which is worth over $1 billion. Making her net worth $2.7 billion, excluding her other brands which have not been evaluated yet.

"During her musical career, Rihanna has collaborated with many artists, such as Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and Shakira." - while Rihanna's collaborations are indeed a big part of her success, I don't think this sentence should be worded like that, especially when some of these artists aren't nearly as big as Rihanna herself. I feel like an article about Rihanna should mention HER achievements, instead of mentioning other people in the main summary, especially when its the songs, not the artists, that are associated with her name and success. I would rather re-word that sentence to something along these lines: "During her musical career, Rihanna has expanded her success by featuring on numerous hit singles by other artists, including "Run This Town", "Love the Way You Lie", "The Monster", "This Is What You Came For" and "Wild Thoughts". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marinette2356 (talkcontribs) 14:48, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

There is no such word/term "sub-military"

The term "sub-military" does not appear to be defined ANYWHERE on the internet. I searched thoroughly using Google, Startpage and DuckDuckGo. When searching for this term online the ONLY time it is used is to say that Rihanna was in the "sub-military". There is no other reference to anyone else in the world having to do with the "sub-military". Since this term is not defined ANYWHERE on the internet AT ALL (If you can find a page on the internet that defines it's meaning please let me know), this should be changed or removed. The correct thing to say is that the army is a branch of the military, this is what I think the author meant when they made up this word "sub-military". Jacob81 (talk) 14:29, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Removal of "NH" from Rihanna's name.

The Order of National Heroes Act of Barbados does not include provision for the postnominal letters of "NH" after your name. You are simply a National Hero and referred to as The Right Excellent. It is similar to Knights Bachelor in the UK system who have no post nominals for the honour. 72.51.113.83 (talk) 15:57, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

Suggest to add "Bajan" to describe Rhianna's nationality. Bajan is the self-titled name for people from Barbados and the Caribbean and it would be respectful to her cultural heritage to add this. Please change: As an 11-year-old, Rihanna was an army cadet in a sub-military programme,

To: Rihanna was a cadet in the Cadet Corps when she lived in Barbados,

Right after "was her drill sergeant." please add the reference: [1] Jacob81 (talk) 16:50, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Why I am requesting the edits: (Also see what I typed in the talk section "There is no such word/term "sub-military""). The new citation clarifies what program Rihanna was in (Cadets Corp of Barbados). This program is only for 13 to 20 year olds. It is possible this age range was different when Rihanna was 11 years old which would have made it possible for her to join at 11; however the fact that the age range currently starts at 13 leaves doubt that she was really 11 when she was in the program. Thank you. Jacob81 (talk) 17:06, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Age 11 should stay, since it's supported by an interview with Rihanna.[6] The only remaining issue is how to describe Cadet Corps. —C.Fred (talk) 18:25, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Remove an unnecessary reference to "going to a hotel room"

  • What I think should be changed (format using {{textdiff}}):

I would recommend a change from "Rihanna went to Rogers's hotel room, where she performed renditions" to "Rihanna performed renditions" Sorry that I cannot find info on what tl|textdiff is.

  • Why it should be changed:

Where the renditions occurred is irrelevant. The wording seems to imply maybe something vaguely inappropriate? But it doesn't make that implication explicit, so it ends up seeming irrelevant.

  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):
