Hacking Issue

[edit]

It's known that the hacking of RPG Maker VX with an "English Patch" does have base. [1] The RPG Maker VX site contains an article called "Crossing the Rubicon." Please do not remove the article because you feel it lacks substance . It happened.

I only remove it because it is poorly written and non-cited Philbuck222 (talk) 12:39, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I ask on the history that people fix my grammar. I have issues with my grammar. Not to mention I had it cited, but someone removed the cited link I put up.

System requirements

[edit]

As of ~1pm EST (GMT-5) on Sunday, 13 November 2011, the manufacturer website at http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/product/rpg-maker-vx provided the information I added to and/or corrected in this article. I would like to provide this citation in the article itself but do not know how. My philosophy is that it's easier to do something right the first time than fix it after it's been done wrong. (Just my opinion, no need to argue if you disagree.) I would greatly appreciate it if another editor (perhaps the one who nearly edit-conflicted with me on this very article?) could add the citation into the article properly. I tend to section-edit because editing whole articles at once gets confusing for me.

Regarding the 400MB available HD space listed as "Recommended" in the table, that stat was listed in the minimum requirements column prior to my edits. Since several other stats which at that point appeared in the "Minimum" requirements column which, according to the table at the official site, were actually the recommended stats rather than the minimum requirements -- and because I assumed good faith and presumed that the 400MB figure came from a source such as the Japanese-language site or the retail packaging -- I moved it to the "Recommended" column rather than replacing it with "[none specified]". If anyone has a source for the 400MB figure, a citation identifying it would be good to have.

Concerning the intralink for processors "equivalent" to the Intel Pentium chips pointing to the Athlon article... I decided to link there largely because Athlon/AMD is the only competitor product I'm aware of, and, when I went to that article looking for a link to a category such as "Pentium-III-class processors" to which the Athlon line would belong, I found no sign of such a category existing. Indeed, under the heading identifying Athlon competitors, virtually every processor listed was Pentium-made.

Why so many intralinks at all? I was thinking of the least-tech-savvy visitor to the article, someone who probably lacks the technical skills to use RPG Maker VX but who might be considering purchasing it as a gift for someone more tech-savvy. Direct links from the system requirements to articles explaining what various terms meant seemed a vital aid for such users. And I know computer users personally who don't even know which Windows OS their computer has (or how to find out) but who nevertheless purchase both software and hardware, both for themselves and as gifts, on a regular basis. —GrammarFascist (talk) 18:21, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Package front cover.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Package front cover.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 17 November 2011

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

VX Ace

[edit]

VX Ace is more different from VX, than VX is from XP. If those two have seperate articles, I think VX Ace should have a seperate one too... Was this actually decided against, or is it just that no one's made one? 203.100.216.230 (talk) 08:14, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

possible WP:PROMOTION?

[edit]

I have reason to suspect, based on the way the lead section is written (particularly a bit of broken English and what feels like a promotional tone), that someone from the publishing company may have edited here. Does anyone know how I might be able to substantiate (or disprove) this suspicion? Not sure how to tell who is who, especially if they used a sock. Macks2008 (talk) 18:03, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
