Orphaned references in Impact of Brexit

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Impact of Brexit's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "auto6":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 09:46, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed elections in France is a missing point:

[edit]

Citizenship is missing in the Impact of Brexit article:

The British drawer Perry Taylor living in Puydarrieux since 2004 disagree with loosing his right of vote due to the Brexit which occurred on February the first. https://www.ladepeche.fr/2020/02/07/brexit-prive-du-droit-de-vote-un-elu-britannique-attaque-letat,8717476.php

Thus he will not be elected on March 2020. (article L. 236 of the electoral code) https://www.larepubliquedespyrenees.fr/2020/02/07/hautes-pyrenees-un-elu-municipal-britannique-demissionne-suite-au-brexit,2659979.php

He assumes that « la sortie du Royaume-Uni de l’Union européenne n’entraîne pas nécessairement la perte automatique de la citoyenneté européenne pour les ressortissants britanniques » (Brexit would not make British non citizen). https://www.larepubliquedespyrenees.fr/2020/02/07/hautes-pyrenees-un-elu-municipal-britannique-demissionne-suite-au-brexit,2659979.php

The British non-citizen wishes the CJUE (EUJC) to be involved in the case to provide its own interpretation of the relevant European texts (textes européens pertinents).

The referral hearing will be held at the Pau Administrative Court on February 10 at 1:45 p.m. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.136.155.102 (talk) 20:07, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Move to the past tense?

[edit]

A lot of this article seems to be out of date - but could still be useful as a record of what predictions were at the time. for instance the lede contains

Some effects of Brexit depend on the negotiated withdrawal agreement. Other effects depend on the trade deal to be negotiated during the transition period after withdrawal, or whether the transition period ends before an agreement is ratified (a "no-deal" Brexit).[1] Brexit effect can impact entities inside the UK, or have effect on Gibraltar, to impact the European Union and impact third countries. It is also likely to have an impact on the Irish border.

and a basic trade deal was negotiate, and did have impact on the north sea border, things that are likely to happen according to the article have already happened. I'm tempted to suggest renaming this article as 'predictions of Brexit impact' rather than just removing the out dated comment.

actually yes it might not be the right choice but the discussion may be helpful 14:18, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Impact of BrexitPredicted impact of Brexit – this article is out of date but is an interesting record of the predictions and a fresh article called Impact of Brexit should replace this EdwardLane (talk) 14:18, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removed 'blue passport' section

[edit]

I've removed the 'blue passport' section. While there was lots of talk about this particular decision to change passport colours, having it on its own section seems like WP:UNDUE to me, especially since it was placed as the second section in the article (before border and economic changes??). I intended to move it into another section, but I don't think it really fits in any. Besides, as per the March 2021 move, this page should record predictions for Brexit, and this wasn't really a prediction. GoodCrossing (talk) 21:55, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
