The party has recently faced a vertical split so I feel the sequence of events, circumstances and outcomes need to be included in next article than keeping them here in this article. If included here, it's equivalent to size of this article. So, I request for a new article on the same which I have already made to be approved. 103.10.28.182 (talk) 18:06, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

- If someone is willing to put in the work, and it looks like they already have, I have no objections. The topic meets WP:GNG. Come to think of it, it may even be better to cover it in an standalone as proposed. That said, all the IPs are obviously the same editor. Usedtobecool ☎️ 14:40, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

People's Socialist Party, Nepal → Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal – This party is popularly known by this name. Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal is the official name of the party.[1] Even national medias report with same name.[2],[3], [4], [5] Even Election Commission which is regulatory body of parties in Nepal only identifies Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal.[6] Where's People's Socialist Party, Nepal given on commission website? No where! This page was on the same location before. But it was moved with an illegitimate reason without discussion. How can you translate a Nepali word? Can naming words be translated on your own? Janata Samajwadi Party article had a major contributor, User:PrakashAdhikari who's deputy general secretary of the party. This makes it more clear. For ref see:-[7] Hence, I request a move to be made to Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal which is party's legit name. Thank-you! 110.44.127.166 (talk) 11:03, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Lennart97 (talk) 13:26, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- I have no opinion, but this cannot possibly considered an uncontroversial request. Discussion is needed. Lennart97 (talk) 13:26, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Oppose this is the name of the second party after PSP-N was recently split in 2021, so it should have its own article. It looks like editors here have redlinked Janata Samjbadi Party, Nepal (Loktantrik) for that purpose. I can't tell if it it's supposed to be Janata Samjbadi Party or Janata Samajbadi Party or Janata Samajwadi Party. I know its members still claim their faction is the legit PSP-N but just because they think so doesn't make it the name. If any of those names were used while they were PSP-N then you may want to consider adding (2021) as the disambiguator instead.AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 14:11, 19 August 2021 (UTC) struck 20:35, 19 August 2021 (UTC)- @User:AngusWOOF, I had made this request. Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal when translated in English is People's Socialist Party, Nepal which is not formal name. People's Socialist Party, Nepal here is registered by name Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal at election commission. Here Janata in Nepali means People's, Samajbadi means Socialist. Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal is what the mother party is. Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal (Loktantrik) broke from here often refereed previously as Mahantha Faction.(signed)110.44.120.60 (talk) 17:46, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- 110.44.120.60, I have added Janata Samajbadi Party to the lead sentence as that is the name as pronounced in Nepali, but People's Socialist Party, Nepal is the official name in English. See [8] AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:30, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- 110.44.120.60, per MOS:USEENGLISH, we need to provide evidence of extensive use in English-language newspapers. Per List of newspapers in Nepal:
- The Himalayan Times – Janata Samajbadi Party; Janata Samajwadi Party; and People's Socialist Party [9]
- The Kathmandu Post – Janata Samajbadi Party
- Republica (newspaper) – Janata Samajbadi Party [10] and People's Socialist Party [11]
- The Rising Nepal – Janata Samajhwadi Party [12] and Janata Samajwadi Party [13]
- Nepali Times – Janata Samajbadi Party [14] People's Socialist Party (not really used) [15]
- The Annapurna Express – Janata Samajbadi Party [16]
- On a side note, they are translating Loktantrik to Democratic in these papers. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 21:09, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose, the party's website peoplesocialist
.org has the name People's Socialist Party, Nepal as the English name Janata Samajwadi, Party Nepal as the Nepali name. 107.77.210.19 (talk) 15:13, 20 August 2021 (UTC) - Oppose We should use English when there is an English name. If it were a case of every source having to translate the Nepali name every time, it would be different. And there are too many ways of writing Nepali names in English; "Samajwadi"/"Samajbadi" is just one such example. Usedtobecool ☎️ 13:16, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
Change in logo and party flag
[edit]@Vif12vf:, As per decision made by the party a few months ago, it's changed its logo and party flag after a several splits. It needs to be updated in Wikipedia as well. Even it's official website justified it. Please find the sources to confirm it. [17][18][19] Franked2004 (talk) 06:48, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
