Building a Million-Particle System — Lutz Latta (Gamasutra, July 2004) -- i thought we're supposed to post only links that do not require registration or payment or whatevah.

Agreed. I have removed the link. SethTisue 18:32, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"incomplexity" is not a word, and it doesn't need the superlative "incredible" - changed to "uncomplicated nature"

"uncomplicated" sentence

[edit]

Hello, I'm the one who wrote most of this article. I don't really understand the part about the "uncomplicated nature" of particle systems due to OOP. It doesn't make any sense to say something like that. First of all it's unsubstantiated, there are no references whatsoever, and probably just the opinion of whoever wrote it. Also, it's a trivial thought/conclusion, and has nothing to do with the algorithm per se. Thus, I propose that it should be removed on the grounds that it does not belong to an encyclopedic article. If nobody disaggrees with this I'll remove it in a week, for now I'll just add a citation needed tag.Jtsiomb 05:21, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What about hair?

[edit]

I noticed that this article omitted any reference to particle systems' being able to replicate hair, fur and other similar effects, so I added a section for it and a couple of images I rendered. This, to me, is one of their main uses!

Fluid Dynamics ? N body? These are not particle systems? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.70.78.118 (talk) 23:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also tried to clarify the text of the rest of the article, and I removed one image that seemed to be redundant... hope I'm not stepping on any toes. Halixi72 (talk) 06:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Citation

[edit]

The article on Gamasutra by John van der Burg seems to be redirected to a landing page. Does anyone know the new location? D3PyroGS (talk) 03:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
