Prestige

I have removed a line regarding an OSL title being the most prestigious in SC circles. There was no citation and also most people I have spoken to consider the most coveted award to be a WCG title.96.50.10.234 (talk) 19:55, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

I have reverted this edit to restore the OSL as the most significant win for a Brood War progamer because of anecdotal statements from pro-gamers themselves who have stated that they consider the WCG title as less important than both the MSL and OSL, especially in practice priority. Naming and possible move

Is the term Starleague just for the OSL? Perhaps that used to be the case, but now we have the MSL, as mentioned in the article. Perhaps this article should be moved to OnGameNet Starleague? --C S (Talk) 05:38, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

you're right, Chanho. But since Ongamenet corporation says they want to be called as Starleauge exclusively or in their broadcast at least, let us consider the point of view of Ongamenet. How about moving to Starleague (Ongamenet) like Korean Wikipedia? --147.46.185.102 07:28, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Naming conflicts

Ongamenet is a separate stub-class article; OSL redirects here (Starleague (Ongamenet)). I suggest two things: 1. merge any unique content from Ongamenet here, and turn that page into a redirect to here; 2. turn OSL into a redirect to OSL (disambiguation). I don't think the Ongamenet should be moved to this article, I believe the right thing to do is to expand the Ongamenet article, since Starleage is just one StarCraft league hold by Ongamenet, which also broadcasts matches from a lot of different games. Tschis (talk) 18:25, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Conflicting/Missing Prize Information

In the following paragraph:

"Starleague started to attract major attention with the rise of the "Boxer Terran" in the HanbitSoft Starleague in 2001. Professional gamer Lim Yo Hwan swept the scene with a 3:0 victory against Jang Jin Nam, using a rare race at the time (Terran) and using the Terran dropship. Boxer continued to win the next league, Coca-Cola Starleague, against Hong Jin-Ho (Yellow), and ended up 2nd to Kim Dong Soo (Garimto) in the 2001 Sky Starleague. By this time, first-prize was 20,000,000 Korean Won, about USD 20,000."

In the following video, Kim Dong Soo (Garimto) received a giant cheque that says "Champion" in Hangul and 10,000,000 won.

Also in the following paragraph:

"Starleague started to gain its own "color" with the 2003 MyCube Starleague, with a distinctive red, black, and white emblem and a much more polished opening computer-generated cinematic. Prize money by this time was more than double the amount in the 2001 Coca-Cola championships, and regular games started to attract more people, with a refurbishing of the Ongamenet studio."

There were 4 OSLs between the 2001 Coca-Cola OSL and 2003 MyCube OSL. At what point did the prize money increase? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.
