I personally (and I am sure others might agree) that although the team based off the production was famous for creating god-like games (Populous, Dungeon Keeper, etc etc) Startopia is more like one of their idealistic simulators (i.e. Theme Hospital style). The name 'Mucky Foot' came about when Peter found an inexplicable muddy footprint on the wall of his, or a friends, garden shed.
I have no source for this but I will put it out there in the hope someone can find a copy of the PC magazine that I remember it from.
