Concurrent Players?

[edit]

Currently, the start of the article reads "An early access version of the game was released on March 30, 2020 and quickly became the largest launch of the year on Steam, achieving more than 200,000 concurrent players." However, the end of the article (Reception) reads "On its early access release, Bannerlord became the largest launch of the year to that point on Steam, achieving more than 170,000 concurrent players." Can someone fact-check and make that consistent please?

Sequel

[edit]

No doubt somebody can explain this, but at present the page for Mount and Blade: Warband calls it a "sequel to Mount and Blade". In this article however Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord is described as a 'sequel to Mount and Blade: Warband but not to the original Mount and Blade'.

This doesn't really make any sense. If game B is a sequel to game A and game C is a sequel to game B then surely game C must also be a sequel to game A? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.26.17.69 (talk) 20:09, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Could be wrong, but as I see it, Bannerlord is a prequel to Warband, but the original Mount & Blade exists in its own universe, one with radically different terrain and the absence of an entire group of people, the Sarranids. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.106.179.72 (talk) 21:52, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sequel ?? This game actually has no storyline just the map and factions, but second version doesn't mean a continuous story again , but it refers to the main system and gameplay. Hesam MadMan (talk) 21:49, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mount and Blade Warband had a decent central storyline, and Mount and Blade 2 will have a bigger one. At the very least the setting makes it clear both are in the same universe. KarstenO (talk) 15:48, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These games don't have any storyline. They're a sandbox. Have you ever played any of them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.14.235.161 (talk) 21:18, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Protect the page?

[edit]

The level of vandalism on this page is insane. I honestly don't know if I've ever seen a page with such frequent and persistent vandalism that hasn't been promptly protected. Checking the page history, there seem to have been several short-term protections, but the vandalism started right back up again after the protections expired. Honestly, it might be best to indefinitely restrict new and anonymous accounts from editing the page so that this vandalism can (hopefully) stop. These temporary protections obviously aren't working and the vandalism is probably just going to get worse the longer the game is in development. Silver181 (talk) 02:19, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Change the release date from "TBD" to "March 2020, Early Access and remove the reference to no confirmed release date to "It is scheduled to release for Early Access on March 2020."

Do you expect an oxford article on how this became a meme or what?

[edit]

Sorry if this sounds rude, but... Do you expect an oxford article on how this became a meme or what? It's a fact and something that's been going on for years known by every Mount&Blade fan ever Signed, ~𝓐𝓭𝓲𝓰𝓪𝓫𝓻𝓮𝓴 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓕𝓲𝓻𝓼𝓽~Contact 12:26, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Console Version

[edit]

The game was great when it first released and ever since the newest update it’s constantly crashing freezing and is honestly in a worse state than when I came to console. 2A00:23C6:7A19:5101:50D8:BFB2:E2A1:F68 (talk) 23:06, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

sanitized version

[edit]

this page reads like a sales advert and relies on 2019 early access reviews to sugarcoat the failure of the game at "full" release

there is zero mention of any of the controvery surrounding this game and its terrible management:

turkish grant money via a former employee that works in govt being a possible motivation for the long develepment time and slow pace of updates

rushing the release to get out before Christmas 2022 (the game was not even close to being done yet)

CEO prefers workplace "chaos" basically turning the environment into a shark tank where only the strong survive and productivity is very low due to constant turnover

senior employees favoring their preferred class/faction (fian + khan) and intentionally unbalancing the game so they can have more fun

^ for example they admitted to making infantry behave "more foolish" because they enjoyed having cavalry cut through them like butter (hence the broken vanilla combat)

the company taking advantage of the local tech college students with low pay (often months late), long hours, crunch time and high levels of burnout + turnover

bad management decisions like ignoring community feedback, deliberate sabotage of modding and private multiplayer servers because they didn't like being outdone

^ all of that is taken from screenshots posted to their own forums - after which they deleted their PM's and blocked the senior community member who posted them

no meaningful response was ever given by anyone at the company (although the CEO and senior management did *repeatedly* view the thread in question)

pretty much the textbook definition of immaturity and ego run amok at Taleworlds aka Ikisoft (a play on "Ubisoft" it literally means "Two-Soft" in Turkish)

all of this boiling down to bad management is supported by numerous employee reviews on glassdoor

NONE of that is mentioned here

not even a quick blurb in summary
